Man allegedly punched Halifax construction worker, showed ‘sexually inappropriate' pictures

A 29-year-old man is facing an assault charge after he allegedly tried to show 'sexually inappropriate' pictures to a Halifax construction crew and punched one of the workers last week. Halifax Regional Police says it responded to a reported disturbance on the 5800 block of Spring Garden Road around 8:30 p.m. Friday. An unknown man allegedly approached a group of construction workers and, after trying to show the sexually inappropriate pictures on a cellphone, tried to instigate a fight, according to police. The man allegedly punched one of the workers and hit him in the head with the cellphone before throwing a rock through a pane of glass and fleeing the scene on foot. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police arrested the suspect around 8:50 p.m. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to face charges of assault with a weapon and property damage For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
