Mateta a 'great player' and a 'unique' threat
Former West Ham, Wolves and Crystal Palace coach Edu Rubio on Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta:"I didn't work with him; I missed him. I left Palace before he arrived. He is a great player and a very well-liked character, from what my friends there say."His uniqueness is that he can be used as a target man to bring the ball down after a long ball, and also a player who can combine and link up play in the opposition's half."Mateta has helped Palace tremendously in counters by always finding the ball, bringing it down and finding the right set or forward pass to keep the momentum of the attack."He can score from long range, from inside the box and in set-pieces, so he is a good attacking weapon to have, especially for a team playing with only one striker on the pitch."He can sometimes lose concentration in the high press, despite his application."As he will do next season, he can definitely play in a team playing in Europe, and he can do that consistently in the next few years."

Right or wrong decision? Fans react to Postecoglou's exit
We asked for your views on Tottenham sacking manager Ange are some of your comments:Steven: Cannot believe he wasn't given one more year - the injuries throughout the season were an indictment of the board's financial constraints, leading to a small squad susceptible to injury - which board members are resigning in shame? We know the answer - Levy must stay out of the game; he clearly doesn't understand. It can't always be the manager at fault - we have had some of the best in the world. Ange should, at the very least, have been given the Super Cup Shocking/wrong decision, but consistent with boardroom decisions in the past. What other clubs would identify it as a failure to complete a season with a European trophy and entry into the Champions League and then sack the manager? Disgraceful!!Stephen: 100% the right decision - incredible to win the Europa this year, but tactically inept at any decent level. Excuses all season - squad is top six - coach was bottom I think Levy is right to sack him now. I'm sure he will do well in many other leagues, but the Premier League is relentless. He was tactically naive. However, who would come to Spurs at the moment?Tom: Relieved! It's great winning a trophy for the first time in 17 years, but we can't forget the embarrassment in the league this season with Arsenal and Chelsea doing the double on us, not to mention the record number of losses. He was simply out of his depth. Now, with Champions League football, we can attract a better manager.
