Deputies in Colorado rescue 2 women after crash leaves SUV submerged upside down in creek
Arapahoe County Sheriff's deputies helped rescue two women from a submerged SUV in a creek after a crash left the vehicle upside down. The crash happened early Saturday morning.
Witnesses reported seeing an SUV speeding by that crashed into a snowy ditch. Deputies used the vehicle's tracks to find the SUV submerged upside down in the water.
Deputies rushed to rescue the women inside. Despite the heroic rescue, deputies also acknowledge the witness who sprang into action.
"If he hadn't stopped and notified us where the crash was, we would never have found that car. There was very limited signs of an accident from the roadway and it wasn't until we got out on foot and walking the area," said Arapahoe County Deputy Sheriff Derek Helveston.
Both women in the vehicle suffered minor injuries. The driver is facing DUI charges.

DUI driver, passenger arrested after crashing into Santa Barbara County home
An intoxicated driver and his passenger were arrested after their car crashed through the wall of an occupied Goleta home earlier this week, officials confirmed. It happened late Monday night, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, in the 6200 block of Cathedral Oaks Road. Deputies were dispatched at 11:38 p.m. to the Goleta residence and found a sedan sticking halfway out of the house after it plunged over the front yard and into what appeared to be a family room. A preliminary investigation unveiled that the driver, identified as 23-year-old Nehemiah Verhoef of Goleta, failed to make a left-hand turn onto Carlo Drive from Cathedral Oaks, which then resulted in him driving over a crosswalk activator and crashing into the house. Deputies discovered Verhoef was driving under the influence of alcohol. In addition, before authorities arrived, the sheriff's office said that the passenger of the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Luke Gibou of Santa Barbara, tried to hide open containers of alcohol that they had in the car. Crews with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department also responded to reports of the crash and helped shore up and secure the severely damaged structure. Deputies arrested Verhoef for a misdemeanor DUI, and Gibou for concealing evidence—also a misdemeanor. They were both booked at the Main Jail, but have since been cited and released. 'With rideshare, designated drivers, and public transportation, there's no excuse for putting lives at risk by driving impaired,' said Sergeant Noel Rivas with the Goleta Traffic Bureau. 'Make the right choice before you get behind the wheel—and avoid a trip to jail.' The one person who was home at the time happened to be in a separate area of the house when the car crashed through their front wall, and no injuries were reported as a result. Police arrest a drunk man who was impersonating an officer in Riverbank
( — Riverbank police received reports from a female motorist of a suspicious vehicle after she had pulled over on Oakdale Road and Freddie Lane in Riverbank on Wednesday morning. According to the Riverbank Police Services, the man who was driving was in a dark-colored sedan that was equipped with flashing red and blue lights. Crews responded to the scene and were able to find the vehicle in a nearby residential neighborhood. Deputies conducted a field test that confirmed the suspect's blood alcohol content, which was more than twice the legal limit, RPS said. Rojas was arrested and transported to the Stansialus County Public Safety Center, where he was booked on charges of impersonating a peace officer and driving under the influence. Enfield man allegedly bites police officer, tries to crush eyes
LEBANON, N.H. (ABC22/FOX44) – The Lebanon Police Department received a report Thursday evening at about 7:54 p.m. of a man wanted for multiple warrants in the West Lebanon Walmart. According to police, an officer found Joshua Champney, 35, of Enfield, but a struggle ensued and Champney tried to flee on foot through the parking lot. New Hampshire establishes Parental Bill of Rights, universal school vouchers Police then said the officer used a Taser on Champney, who continued to struggle, biting the officer and trying to gouge their eyes out with his thumbs. It took the aid of several more police officers before he was finally put under arrest. The officer who tried to arrest Champney was injured during the struggle and has since been released from the hospital. Police said they found a stolen gun in his possession. Champney had previously been out on bail for possessing a dangerous weapon, along with a DUI charge, resisting arrest, and a parole violation. Lebanon police welcome veteran police dog… and human partner After the apparent struggle, Champney had more charges added to this list, including 2nd degree assault and the special felony of being an 'armed career criminal'; people convicted of 3 or more counts of certain serious felonies are not allowed to own firearms in New Hampshire.
