Keyera doubles natural gas volumes to be shipped via AltaGas terminal in B.C.

Yahoo4 hours ago

CALGARY — Keyera Corp. has reached an agreement to double the volume of liquefied petroleum gas it plans to export through a West Coast export facility being built by AltaGas Ltd.
AltaGas said in February that Keyera had contracted 12,500 barrels per day of capacity to ship the gas to Asia via the Ridley Island Energy Export Facility near Prince Rupert, B.C.
The companies announced Monday that will rise to 25,000 barrels per day under 15-year tolling agreements.
The facility is to be used to export propane and butane in its first phase, with the possibility of expanding into ethane and other valuable liquids in the future.
It's being built next to a propane export facility AltaGas already operates on Ridley Island.
AltaGas says the uncertain trade environment has underscored the need for Canadian companies to diversify their export markets beyond the United States.
"AltaGas provides its customers the opportunity for protection against tariff and counter-tariff impacts and ensures access to the highest priced global markets," it said.
"As Canadian upstream production continues to grow, we believe it is critical to connect more of Canada's vital energy products to premium global markets for the benefit of all Canadians."

Jack Nathan Health Provides Update on Filing of FY 2024–25 Financial Statements and Audit Progress

TORONTO, June 09, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jack Nathan Medical Corp. (TSXV: "JNH"; OTCQB: "JNHMF"), ("Jack Nathan Health", "JNH" or the "Company") announces that it was unable to file its audited consolidated financial statements, management's discussion and analysis (MD&A), and related CEO and CFO certifications for the fiscal year ended January 31, 2025 (collectively, the "Annual Filings") by the required deadline of May 31, 2025. The delay was primarily due to the complexity surrounding the Asset Purchase Agreement (APA) completed on December 1, 2024, under which the Company transferred its Canadian medical clinic business and operations to Well Health Technologies Corp. As part of this transaction, access to EMR systems, supporting documents, and clinical records was also transferred, and this has resulted in extended timelines for data retrieval and audit testing. In addition to the operational handover: The Company underwent a change in external auditors during the fiscal year. A significant number of JNH's employees, including finance and administrative staff, transitioned to Well Health. A resulting delay in commencing the audit, which only began in late February 2025 Despite the late start, Jack Nathan Health made every effort to complete the audit by the filing deadline. Based on that intent, the Company did not apply for a Management Cease Trade Order (MCTO) in advance. However, given the ongoing audit, the Company was unable to meet the statutory filing deadline. As a result, the Ontario Securities Commission issued a Failure-to-File Cease Trade Order ("CTO") against the Company on June 6, 2025, under applicable securities legislation. The CTO prohibits trading in the Company's securities in all Canadian jurisdictions where reciprocal orders apply, until the required filings are completed and the order is revoked. The Company continues to work closely with its auditors to finalize the audit and expects to file well within the 90-day period required for automatic revocation of the CTO. "This past year marked a major transformation for Jack Nathan Health. The transition of our Canadian medical business to Well Health involved an extensive operational and systems handover," said Mike Marchelletta, CEO of Jack Nathan Health. "We recognize the delay in our reporting obligations and remain fully committed to transparency. Our team is working diligently to finalize the audit, and we anticipate filing as soon as possible." B.C.‘s youth unemployment rate second-highest in Canada with 16.6 per cent in May

VICTORIA - High school students walking across graduation stages this month will step into an uncertain job market as B.C. has the second-highest youth unemployment rate in Canada. Figures released by Statistics Canada this month show the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate among people ages 15 to 24 was 16.6 per cent in May, up from 13.4 in April 2025 and up from 10.5 per cent in May 2024. Only Alberta has recorded a higher unemployment rate in that age category with 17.2 per cent, while the national youth unemployment rate is at 14.2 per cent. B.C.'s youth unemployment rate for May 2025 is below the rate of June 2020, when the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate among youth hit 28.6 per cent based on figures from Statistics Canada because of COVID-19. But the current unemployment rate among youth exceeds youth unemployment 15 years ago when it hit annual peak of 15.6 per cent in June 2010 in the midst of the so-called Great Recession caused by the financial crisis of 2007-2008. B.C.'s overall employment rate for May 2025 was 6.4 per cent, up from 6.2 per cent in April 2025 and 5.6 per cent in May 2024. This report by The Canadian Press was first published June 9, 2025. GFL weighs sale in infrastructure arm valued at C$5 billion

-- Gfl Environmental (TSX:GFL) Holdings Inc (NYSE:GFL) is exploring the sale of a stake in its infrastructure arm, Green Infrastructure Partners Inc., in a potential deal that could value the business at around C$5 billion ($3.7 billion) including debt, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The development underscores growing investor interest in Canadian civil infrastructure as major funds line up to participate. The Markham, Ontario-based company has held early-stage talks with private equity firms including General Atlantic, Energy Capital Partners (WA:CPAP), and Neuberger Berman, the people said. The transaction, if completed, would mark one of the largest infrastructure-related deals in Canada this year. Green Infrastructure Partners operates separately from GFL's core solid waste and environmental services business, providing services such as road building, paving, and site development. The unit has grown rapidly in recent years through a series of acquisitions, making it a strategic asset in Canada's expanding civil infrastructure sector. For GFL, the sale of a stake would unlock capital to support Green Infrastructure Partners' continued expansion while monetizing a high-growth division. The move comes amid strong private capital flows into infrastructure, with investors broadly seeking stable cash-generating assets amid market volatility. Shareholders of GFL, including HPS Investment Partners, are involved in the ongoing discussions, though no final decisions have been made. The structure, size, and timing of any potential sale remain under consideration. While the process is still in its early stages, additional interest from other strategic or financial bidders is possible, said sources. A transaction would mark another significant portfolio reshuffle by GFL as the company refines its long-term strategic focus.
