Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the continuation of indirect talks between Washington and Tehran is "unjustifiable."
In a call with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, Araghchi said that 'Israel's hostile actions stem from direct US support,' emphasizing that 'ongoing indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States are unjustifiable while the Zionist regime's brutality continues.'
The Iranian minister condemned the 'violation of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the attacks on nuclear facilities and residential areas, which have led to the deaths of military personnel, university professors, women, and children.' He called for a 'decisive global response and international condemnation of Israeli aggression.'
Araghchi further stressed that 'attacking peaceful nuclear facilities is illegal and strictly prohibited under international law, and the international community is obligated to hold the Zionist regime accountable for this grave and unprecedented violation.'
Separately, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said in a statement ahead of the scheduled Sunday talks: 'It is clear that under such circumstances, and as long as the Zionist regime's aggression against the Iranian nation continues, engaging in dialogue with a party that is the biggest supporter and partner of the aggressor is meaningless.'
He added that 'Iran's diplomatic apparatus is currently fully focused on confronting Israeli aggression,' and noted that 'despite all its claims about dialogue and diplomacy, the United States is complicit with Israel, including in the targeting of peaceful Iranian nuclear facilities.'

Israel urges U.S. to join war with Iran but Trump wants to end the war

File: Fordow nuclear facility , IRAN Israel has asked the Trump administration over the past 48 hours to join the war with Iran in order to eliminate its nuclear program, according to two Israeli officials. Israel lacks the bunker buster bombs and large bomber aircraft needed to destroy Iran's Fordow uranium enrichment site, which is built into a mountain and deep underground. The U.S. has both within flying distance of Iran. An Israeli official claimed to Axios that the U.S. might join the operation, and that President Trump even suggested he'd do so if necessary in a recent conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. 'The entire operation… really has to be completed with the elimination of Fordow,' Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter told Fox News on Friday.

Trump says US 'can easily get a deal done' between Israel and Iran

by Naharnet Newsdesk 15 June 2025, 12:01 Donald Trump warned Iran on Sunday that it would experience "the full strength" of the U.S. military if it attacks the United States, reiterating that Washington "had nothing to do" with Israel's strikes on Tehran's nuclear and intelligence facilities. Israel's operation, which began early Friday, has targeted Iranian nuclear and military sites, killing dozens of people including top army commanders and atomic scientists, according to Tehran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to hit "every target of the ayatollah regime", and Iran has retaliated with a deadly barrage of missiles. While Trump had said he was aware of the Israeli operation before it started, he reiterated Sunday morning on his Truth Social platform that the United States "had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight." "If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before," he said in a post. He added that "we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!" On Friday, the U.S. president urged Tehran to make a deal or face "even more brutal" attacks by Israel. During his first term, a landmark nuclear accord with Iran -- negotiated under former president Barack Obama -- was torpedoed in 2018 when Trump unilaterally withdrew the United States and reimposed sanctions.
