Delhi police arrest prime suspect in espionage operation involving pakistani intelligence operatives
New Delhi: The Special Cell of
Delhi Police
arrested the prime suspect in connection with an espionage operation involving Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs).
The accused was identified as Hasin, a resident of Gangora, Deeg, Rajasthan.
His brother, Kasim, was arrested earlier in this case.
Confirming the arrest, Additional CP Pramod Kushwaha said that the suspect had been in contact with ISI officials for many years. He allegedly sent a SIM card to Pakistan through his brother Kasim in Aug 2024, which was later used by a PIO.
Further interrogation revealed that Hasin shared photographs of sensitive army establishments with the PIO and received money in return.
He also provided an OTP to activate a WhatsApp account in Pakistan.
The accused were clicking pictures and noting down timings of the movement of vehicles and army personnel at Alwar military station.
"In return, Hasin's ISI handlers facilitated Pakistani visas for his younger brother Kasim, his brother-in-law, and his sister during their visit to Pakistan in Aug 2024," said an officer.
Hasin visited Pakistan about 15 years ago, where he has relatives, and was tapped by the ISI. Kasim, a resident of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, visited Pakistan twice in Aug 2024 and March 2025, staying for about 90 days and meeting ISI personnel.
The probe revealed that three ISI officers were providing them with training at a Pak army base in Lahore, officials said. Two of them were known by their aliases, viz Shah Ji and Tauji, while the third was identified as Waqas.

According to sources from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Motiram Jat allegedly passed sensitive information to a female operative linked to Pakistani intelligence. The NIA claims this woman used persuasion and blackmail to extract classified details about Indian defence, paramilitary forces, and border security from Motiram. Two individuals have been summoned for questioning as part of the ongoing probe. In a massive search operation on Saturday, the NIA conducted raids at 15 locations across eight states, including Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Assam, and West Bengal. These actions relate to a Pakistan-linked espionage case involving the recent arrest of CRPF personnel ASI Motiram Jat. The agency alleges that Jat shared classified information with Pakistani Intelligence officials who posed as TV journalists and had reportedly received funds from them. The raids targeted premises linked to suspects connected to Pakistan Intelligence Operatives (PIOs).

‘Operation Ghost SIM': Assam man who helped route fake numbers to Pakistan-based WhatsApp accounts arrested
The Assam Police on Saturday night arrested the prime accused in a fake SIM card racket allegedly linked to Pakistan, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 11 since May 16. The crackdown is part of ' Operation Ghost SIM ', a joint effort initiated by the state police based on intelligence inputs from the Indian Army. The accused, Mostafa Rahman (29), was nabbed by the Special Task Force (STF) from Pokalagi Part III village in the Dhubri district of lower Assam. He is believed to be a key operator in the racket that generated and circulated SIM cards using fake identities for cybercrime and anti-national activities . During the arrest, police recovered critical evidence including: One laptop Two mobile phones Three micro ATM machines One biometric device Six ATM cards Eleven voter ID cards An Aadhaar card and a PAN card 'Further interrogation of the accused is currently underway,' Assam Police said in a statement. Live Events SIMs used to create WhatsApp accounts for Pakistan-based operatives Launched on May 16, 'Operation Ghost SIM' unearthed a network operating out of Assam, Rajasthan, and Telangana, where fraudulently obtained SIM cards were allegedly being used to support cybercrime operations and sensitive communications with Pakistani agents. According to the police, the accused procured SIM cards using documents of unsuspecting citizens and used them to activate WhatsApp accounts that appeared to be Indian, but were allegedly operated by anti-national actors. 'In this case, there seems to be clear evidence that some of these numbers have been shared across and are being used by inimical elements,' a senior police officer said. Contribute now New Delhi: An important witness in the case pertaining to the murder of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh has complained to the special court about receiving threats from people who told him not to identify the accused. The witness, a resident of Belagavi received the threats over a phone call on May 28 and submitted a written complaint on the same day, reported Deccan Herald. 'The witness received a phone call where he was threatened not to identify the accused. He filed a complaint before the court. Though he was disturbed and upset, he testified before the court on Thursday,' a source told the newspaper. A copy of the complaint and a memo by the special public prosecutor were submitted to the court.
