Wings' Paige Bueckers (illness) out despite clearing concussion protocol
June 8 - The Dallas Wings announced on Sunday afternoon that star Paige Bueckers has cleared concussion protocol but will be out for today's game against the Minnesota Lynx due to an unrelated illness.
Bueckers, the top overall selection in this year's WNBA draft, has missed the Wings' last three games due to a concussion. The Wings (1-8) are winless in that stretch.
The 23-year-old is the Wings' second-leading scorer at 14.7 points per game. She also leads the team in assists (6.7).
The Wings also announced Ty Harris (knee) was out and Teaira McCowan had a national team obligation.

Botin's crew earned a penalty in the decisive race six but made massive gains and got ahead of Brazil on the second-to-last leg to secure a spot in the event final. Australia held onto their early lead to win the sixth race, grabbing their second victory of the event after they came out on top in the second race on Saturday. France, who sailed very consistently on both days, put in a flawless performance to pick up a win in race five. The season next moves to Europe, first returning to Britain as the fleet races in Portsmouth from July 19-20 before heading to Germany in August for the very first time.

Yankees claim CJ Alexander from Athletics
June 8 - The New York Yankees claimed infielder CJ Alexander off waivers from the Athletics and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday. Alexander, 28, had been designated for assignment on Thursday after six games with the A's. Alexander batted 3-for-17 (.176) with eight strikeouts in his smattering of big-league appearances. He made two starts apiece at first base and third base and also saw time in the outfield. Alexander made his major league debut in June 2024, playing four games for the Kansas City Royals. White Sox sign LHP Tyler Alexander
June 8 - The Chicago White Sox on Sunday signed left-handed pitcher Tyler Alexander to a one-year, $760,000 deal. To make room on the roster, the team moved left-handed pitcher Jared Shuster to the 15-day injured list (retroactive to Thursday) and left-handed pitcher Fraser Ellard to the 60-day list. Alexander, a 30-year-old Chicago native, was designated for assignment by the Milwaukee Brewers last week. He made 21 appearances (four starts) for the Brewers this season, going 3-5 with a 6.19 ERA.
