Objects as Art transforms the hotel space into a living gallery
When you think of places showing art, galleries and museums probably pop into your head first, but art doesn't like to play by the rules. Sometimes, it surprises us by showing up in unexpected places like the Hotel Art Fair. For eight years, Bangkok has seen this exhibition transform hotel rooms into art galleries. But Farmgroup, the creative crew behind it, isn't done yet. Now they're shaking things up with a new event called Objects as Art.
From May 24-25, 39 rooms at Salil Hotel Riverside Bangkok will be taken over by works from 39 Thai artists from across the country. What sets this exhibition apart from the Hotel Art Fair is its focus on objects of art, crafts and contemporary design. So, this time, the space becomes a living gallery where art lovers and design enthusiasts can meet, connect and chat.
Some of the artists include Ong Kongpat, known for his playful style, who collaborates with Bangkok Basket to transform woven craft into functional pop art; Pomme Chan, an illustrator and designer whose work bridges art, lifestyle and interior decoration; and Naroot Pitisongswat, whose minimalist furniture designs are rooted in material exploration and contemporary aesthetics.
The event also features activities including 'talk and business matching', a seminar designed to connect producers, buyers, collectors and international investors such as the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and the Thailand Creative Culture Agency (THACCA).

First look at Newport's new and improved Coco's cocktail bar
The venue was once the go-to destination for urban music lovers and after an exciting internal revamp, re-opens its doors to customers. The venue will continue to spin the same old-school R&B and Hip-Hop tracks that made previous customers fall in love, but with a fresh new look. 'We're all looking forward to a new venture that's bigger and better than before.' The Sun exclusively revealed in January that she had quit the show after 25 years on the Salford set to look for new acting opportunities. 'The door is still firmly open but as I reached my 60th year, I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly,' she explained. One of Sue's major next steps is to become a a regular panellist on Loose Women after first appearing on the daytime panel show in 2023. Sue took a break from Corrie last year to star in Sister Act The Musical as Mother Superior and appeared in reality show I'm A Celebrity in 2022. Last year, Sue released her memoir A Work In Progress and revealed she was embracing being in her 60s.
