For context, Jack was born nine weeks prematurely and suffered a cerebral hemorrhage at birth, meaning he underwent numerous surgeries and spent the first month of his life in the NICU. Anna wrote in her 2017 memoir that the period after Jack's birth was 'emotionally exhausting,' recalling, 'Chris and I did what we could, which was hold hands and hope and face it together.'
Today, it sounds like Jack is living a happy and healthy life. His parents — who separated in 2017 — give occasional updates about how he's doing, although they mostly opt to keep him away from the spotlight. And now, in a new interview with the Christian Post, Chris shared some rare insight into the early days of Jack's life and how that time marked a significant turning point in his spiritual journey.
'He had all of these issues going on,' Chris told the outlet, saying that he was in 'a season of transition spiritually at that time' and 'didn't quite fully understand.' The actor continued: 'I prayed hard to God…I made a deal with God again: 'I'm sorry, God, here I am again, asking for your grace again.' And he really saved my son.'

Chris said that was 'the moment' his faith 'was cemented.' 'My heart softened, and my faith hardened,' he remembered. 'That was the moment that I was like, 'Moving forward, I'm going to give my platform to God.''
Since then, the Guardians of the Galaxy star has talked very openly about his religious beliefs — something he feels is his duty as a public figure. 'This platform was given to me for a reason. I want to affirm the people who are believers in Christ. I want them to hear me and say, 'Wow, that's cool. He's willing to say it. I'm going to stand up at work today and say it,'' he explained in the same interview. 'But I also want to reach out to the people who have no idea who God is. … I want to be a light to people who've never seen light.'
Meanwhile, Anna gave an update on Jack's health ahead of his 12th birthday last summer. 'He's amazing," she said during an appearance on Today. 'You miss it sometimes when you look at old photos... I think I'm really loving this age. Although, he told me that he thinks he has an armpit hair. So, it's happening.'

He explained, "The opening scene is 'Interior Airplane: Bomb." But that's not even the worst of it. "The second scene is 'Interior Cockpit: Eject the Pilot' and the third scene is 'Crash,'" del Toro continued. So when TSA agents saw the script for the Wes Anderson film, they were justifiably concerned about who del Toro was and what he was planning. Despite being a Hollywood legend, del Toro's explanation that it was a film script didn't speed up the investigation and get him through security. Instead, he was swarmed by agents, who clearly didn't recognize him from dozens of movie roles spanning a nearly 40-year career. "Five TSA guys come over and they hover around the script, and they're looking at it and looking at it," del Toro recalled. " And then finally the supervisor showed up and he walked in and he looked at me, and I think he recognized me maybe from Sicario or Traffic, and he just sat there and looked at it, and they let me go." Despite the delay, del Toro isn't upset about being questioned. Instead, he gave the TSA agent a "thumbs up" for catching the questionable airport scenes in the script. Meyers seemed to agree, saying, "You gotta give that guy credit because let's say he let you go and something terrible happened. He told me it was a movie! . . . And you believed him?!"
