Why Helena and Harry's shotgun trip to The Hideaway means Love Island's rediscovered its sex factor
CALL me a voyeur, but I'm a 40-year-old, married woman who is hot under the collar at the idea lust is back on Love Island.
The Sun told yesterday how two of this year's intake enjoyed a sleepover in the private Hideaway boudoir just 56 hours after meeting.

It's even juicier because - officially - both blonde cabin crew Helena Ford and semi-pro footballer Harry Cooksley are coupled up with other Islanders.
Of course it helps that both are cut straight from the Barbie and Ken mould, with matching abs, glowing tans and designer locks.
So when I heard from my source that the pin-up pairing had snuck away on Monday to spend the night in the private bedroom, I was gleeful.
That's not because I get my kicks watching twenty-somethings frolic in a Majorcan villa - honest, Mr Cross.
It's because it was the early sign of promise that sex might just be back on Love Island after years of celibacy.
Bold choice too far
Let me lead you astray, back to 2015 when the ITV dating series first plunged a group of youngsters into a luxury villa and encouraged them to find, ahem, love.
The series' main characters were John Lee and Hannah Elizabeth, who weren't afraid to get down to it in the communal bedroom.
Despite Michelle and Stuart, then Makosi and Anthony engaging in a public PDA on Big Brother in 2004 and 2005 respectively, such bold antics felt entirely new to TV viewers and split the nation.
But nothing prepared the pearl clutchers for what happened a year on.
The entire cast let rip, with eight couples going all the way - usually in the shared bedroom - which was all fun and games until ITV bosses took two specific editorial decisions too far.
Love Island fans spot clue islander is 'faking' claim he has never shared a bed with a girl
Beauty queen Zara Holland was stripped of her Miss GB title after having sex with Alex Bowen in the Hideaway in 2016.
The judges were said to have been particularly offended by a scene which saw her visibly enjoying the act.
Then, another late night scene showed Emma-Jane Woodham on top of Terry Walsh, above the bed covers.
It was a bold choice too far - even after the 9pm watershed - and viewers rushed to Ofcom.
That was the end of sex on Love Island as we knew it and from then on, execs took the decision to instead show a shaking bedside lamp or tangled pair of feet.
And in recent years the Instagram career-focussed cast and media trained Islanders have abstained entirely.
Abi Moores told The Sun that no one hooked up in the 2023 series until the penultimate night, when the cast are allowed to spend a night away from the cameras.

Only TV personality Joey Essex and his girl Jessy Potts succumbed last summer - and the only clue was a wobbling champagne bucket, as they cemented their union, artfully off shot.
But this lot don't seem to be as PR-focussed.
Last night's episode, the third of this series, presented a lapdance, finger sucking, a string of snogs and even a three-way smooch.
Tommy and Megan, Dejon and Meg, Shakira and Blu and throuple Helena, Harry and Conor have all locked lips.
And the ep teased Helena and Harry's saucy sleepover, with them sharing an afternoon kiss on the Hideaway's swing and joking they would 'wait five minutes after everyone's gone to sleep then sneak in overnight.'
Frankly, it's the green shoots of recovery the long-running series needs.
The launch drew an audience of 1.4 million across all devices, which ITV proudly reported was ITV2's biggest show this year.
But it represented a drop on last year's 1.6 million and was a far cry from its heyday when 6 million tuned in.
As the series celebrates its tenth anniversary, there's still some love left for the format - all 11 series have been streamed a whopping 2billion times to date on ITVX.
This year's up-for-it cast could prove to be the Viagra the series needs.

The dating show genre has upped its game in recent years, with Rylan Clark's Dating Naked asking its cast to find love entirely in the nude.
And 12 innocents even explored popping their cherries on Channel 4's Virgin Island.
But will Helena and Harry end up regretting their private night?
Zara Holland, now 29, crown for being Love Island's most talked-about bonker after her beauty pageant scandal in 2016.
After the series, she said: 'I regret massively having sex on the show.
'If I could turn back the clock, I would.
'I know I didn't do anything illegal, I was twenty at the time, there's nothing to be ashamed of but yes, you know, it was the biggest regret.'
Montana Brown's relationship with Alex Beattie only lasted a couple of weeks when they left the villa.
And Montana, now 29 and a mum of two, came to look back on their hour-long sex sessions during the 2017 series with regret.
She said: 'In hindsight, having sex on TV wasn't the best idea. My advice to the new hopefuls is not to do it.
'If I could have done it differently, I wouldn't have had sex.
'It's all everyone wants to speak about now.'
While some regret having sex on TV just once, Kem Cetinay's remorse comes from the fact he had so much.
The 2017 series winner, now 29, spoke about his amorous stay in the villa with Amber Davies.
He said: 'Maybe I shouldn't have had as much sex as I did – maybe once or twice would have been enough.
'Now I've got a business and I've got staff, and if new recruits search for me, some of the first articles that come up will be about me having sex on TV.'
There's plenty of Islanders who still love the fact they for lusty on screen.
It's as if people wanted me to be ashamed, but I'm not going to be.
Megan Barton-Hanson
Jess Shears, now 32, romped with Dom Lever on 2017's series and she reckons hooking up in the villa helped cement their relationship.
They are now married with two children.
She said: 'I don't regret having sex on TV as such, but it's a bit strange that the whole nation knows about it.
'No one normally knows about your sexual relations but then at the end of the day if that worked for Dom and I, I'm glad that we did because I'm still with him now.'
Kady McDermott, now 29, also didn't regret her on-screen sex with boyfriend Scott Thomas in the 2016 series.
The couple even stayed together for 18 months after leaving the villa.
She said: 'I personally don't regret having sex because it was with someone I was actually with and loved.'
And Megan Barton-Hanson is another who has vocally supported pursuing a physical connection on the show after hooking up with Wes Nelson in 2018.
She said: 'There is still so much stigma around women even saying they enjoy sex, let alone doing it on national TV.
'When Wes and I were interviewed afterwards, I would always be asked if I regretted having sex on TV and if my parents were embarrassed. They didn't ask Wes.
'It's as if people wanted me to be ashamed, but I'm not going to be.'

The makers of this puff piece should have read the Mail... CHRISTOPHER STEVENS reviews The Savoy: Great Hotels Through Time
The Savoy: Great Hotels Through Time (Ch5) We've all been tempted to do it — slip a fistful of hotel toiletries into our suitcases before checking out. The truly shameless will swipe a bathrobe or a pillow. But when Hollywood superstars visit luxury hotels, they're liable to want something more. Both Alfred Hitchcock and Katharine Hepburn demanded the mattress from their beds at the Savoy . . . and the management obliged. In fact, so many guests are besotted with the comfort of horsehair, cashmere and wool bed fillings, we learned on The Savoy: Great Hotels Through Time, these mattresses are offered for sale . . . at £17,000 for a kingsize. This dash through the hotel's history, narrated by Fay Ripley, was torn between the desire to coo over the elegant surrounds and gasp over the scandals. Princess Di used to visit daily when her marriage was breaking up, and for her birthday, staff tried to cheer her up by filling her suite with balloons . . . 15,000 of them. Marilyn Monroe stayed there, baring her midriff for the cameras in an outfit dubbed 'the wiggle dress'. And Oscar Wilde was accused of entertaining male prostitutes in its rooms, despite the fact that, in the 1890s, the Savoy was the first hotel in the world to have electric lights throughout . . . and Oscar found the glare a little harsh. Perhaps he was more handsome by candlelight. But if the makers of this hastily assembled docu-puff had really wanted some Savoy scandal, they should have consulted the archives of the Daily Mail. That's where the juicy stuff is. One heated divorce case filled the pages for days, at the end of the 19th century, when a wealthy Piccadilly publican named Edwin Bratt accused his wife, Grace, of having not one but four lovers. Savoy bedrooms were one of her favourite love-nests. Marilyn Monroe stayed there, baring her midriff for the cameras in an outfit dubbed 'the wiggle dress' (pictured at a press Cconference at the Savoy Hotel to publicise her forthcoming film, 'The Prince and the Showgirl') When Bratt discovered an admirer had treated Grace to saucy underwear, he beat her so badly with his walking stick that it snapped. Sounds like she was well rid of him. The hotel was still a favourite for assignations 80 years later, when Mick Jagger used to meet Jerry Hall there, much to the fury of his wife Bianca. But my favourite cutting concerns the ghastly Lady Norah Docker and her husband Bernard. He was the chairman of industrial conglomerate BSA, she was a former nightclub dancer, and in the 1950s they were nouveau riche celebs of the trashiest sort. In the Savoy Grill one evening, Lady Docker was slagging off an absent acquaintance at the top of her voice, using racist language. A visiting American, Mr L. Schwartzchild, and his friends were appalled. They asked her to be quiet — and when she carried on, one woman stood up and threw a glass of water in her face. Her face and hair dripping, Lady Docker said, 'I suppose I deserved that,' and stalked out. The Schwartzchild party was asked to leave through the kitchens, to avoid any further scenes. These days, they'd be cheered to the rafters.

EXCLUSIVE Chris Hughes dresses up in wigs and looks very smitten with JoJo Siwa during a shoot at Sandown Racecourse after his girlfriend hit back at her idol Miley Cyrus over sexuality comments
JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes looked smitten during a work shoot at Sandown Racecourse in Esher. The dancer, 22, and her former Love islander boyfriend, 33, found a spark during their time together in the Celebrity Big Brother house in May. Weeks of frenzied speculation followed after the pair left the show, with JoJo splitting up with ex-partner Kath Ebbs, 27, during the show's wrap party. After finally confirming her new romance, JoJo was forced to respond to Miley Cyrus ' joking about her sexuality. JoJo clarified she is queer after identifying as a lesbian before her bond with Chris. But in pictures taken before JoJo left the UK and jetted back to America, the new couple appeared unbothered by the outside noise about their relationship and couldn't keep their hands off each other. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. JoJo cut a casual figure in a blue Versace T-shirt, tie-die cargo trousers and trainers, while accessorising with a silver chain and sunglasses. Meanwhile, Chris was unrecognisable in a short brown wig and bold shirt, as he filmed a new campaign for Coral-Eclipse day at Sandown Racecourse. He later changed into a tweed beige suit, and the pair kicked a rugby ball about with others on the shoot. It comes after JoJo responded to Miley' post about her romance with Chris, admitting the comment was not 'what the world, or myself needs to hear any day of the week'. Miley ignited outrage earlier this week after she joked about JoJo's sexuality in a video message at World Pride amid the dancer's newfound relationship with Chris. Speaking from inside a closet, Miley said: 'Oh, my God, I haven't been in here since sixth grade! Enjoy coming out of the closet if this Pride is the time for you [...] It shouldn't be a month – it should be a year; it should be infinite.' Wrapping up the video, Miley added with a laugh: 'I'm going back inside to get more pretzels and find JoJo Siwa and bring her back out.' In pictures taken before JoJo left the UK and jetted back to America, the pair appeared unbothered by the outside noise about their relationship and couldn't keep their hands off each other He later changed into a tweed beige suit, and the pair kicked a rugby ball about with others on the shoot JoJo has now insisted that it is 'all love' between herself and her idol Miley but admitted that hearing judgement from 'someone you love, and look up to can be very hard'. Sharing photos of herself as a child when she had a Miley-themed birthday party, alongside snaps with the popstar herself, JoJo wrote a passionate message. She penned: 'I was happy at my 5th birthday having a Miley themed party, and I'm still happy now at 22… If you know me, you know that Miley is my day 1, grew up beyond inspired by her from 2 years old on…' She said she had taken some time to process Miley's words, telling fans: 'I wasn't sure how I felt about things for a couple of days… but I've started to come to some thoughts…. I don't believe what Miley said at world pride was ill intended, honestly I think it was meant to be a joke, but just not very good one haha.' 'Not what the world, or myself needs to hear any day of the week. I messaged miley light heartedly about it and she replied and said 'All love. Always . ❤️❤️❤️.' 'Honestly the most beautiful thing I've learned in the last 5 years is that love is a gorgeous rainbow. Don't question yourself, don't second guess yourself, just love.' 'Love love love love love.❤️ People judge no matter what, and it can be very hard, especially when it comes from someone you love, and look up to…' 'But if you feel happy and content with yourself, that's most important. You get one life… hold onto it, make it yours, find your happy, and love.' She was happy to get involved in a quick game of rugby The outing comes after the US star enjoyed a stay at Chris' family home in the Cotswolds during her trip, which also saw the singer dedicate songs to her beau from the stage during her London tour dates JoJo recently confessed during an episode of Celebrity Big Brother – where she met Chris – that she previously identified as a lesbian, but now identifies as a queer woman. While Miley's gag was met with cheers and applause at the Washington D.C. festival, it failed to land online, with many social media users blasting Miley over the 'unnecessary' dig. Taking to X, one asked: 'Can ya'll just let bi people exist?' 'I adore Miley, but this isn't OK,' another said. 'JoJo never went back into the closet, SHE'S STILL QUEER! 'Again, JoJo being with Chris doesn't erase or change her attraction to women. Pride month should be about celebrating all members of the LGBT+ community, not about making jibes like this.' Echoing a similar sentiment, a third added: 'Publicly shaming a young woman exploring her sexuality is abhorrent not just Miley, but all of yall posting 'jokes.'' 'It should be studied how she gets away with being awful and not a girls girl,' wrote someone else. A fifth user posted: 'Mature enough to admit this was unnecessary.' 'This isn't even remotely funny,' said another. JoJo and Chris, who both appeared on Celebrity Big Brother UK in April , finally confirmed that they were dating last week following weeks of frenzied speculation. She told fans: 'I was happy at my 5th birthday having a Miley themed party, and I'm still happy now at 22… If you know me, you know that miley is my day 1' While starring on the reality show, JoJo opened up about her sexuality and her journey. She said at the time: 'I've always told myself I'm a lesbian, but I think being here, I've realized, 'Oh no, I'm not a lesbian, I'm queer.' I think that's really cool. I'm switching letters.' Later, while speaking to Us Weekly, the former Dance Moms personality said she thought the statement wouldn't make it to television. 'That was one of those conversations actually that I was having that I was like, 'This will never see the light of day,'' she said. 'I don't mind that it did, because I actually think it starts a very beautiful conversation of queer. I think queer joy is so special and so magical.' JoJo went on to reject putting her sexuality 'in a box.' 'Queer is a beautiful umbrella term for the LGBTQIA community,' she said. JoJo shared a new post on Thursday morning after she bid goodbye to Chris and the UK after a blissful couple of weeks with her boyfriend. The US star enjoyed a stay at Chris' family home in the Cotswolds during her trip, which also saw the singer dedicate songs to her beau from the stage during her London tour dates. But on Thursday it was time for an emotional farewell, with JoJo telling her Instagram followers that there were 'tears' at the airport. A source told MailOnline that the visit went well, with Chris's new girlfriend reportedly a hit with his parents. The source said: 'JoJo and Chris are absolutely loved-up. 'Meeting the parents is a big step, but she charmed everyone. Looks like JoJo has traded in her bows for a bit of British countryside bliss!' The dancer and her Love Islander boyfriend found a spark during their time together in the Celebrity Big Brother house in May. Weeks of frenzied speculation followed after the pair left the show, with JoJo splitting up with ex-partner Kath Ebbs, 27, just days later. Chris took a trip across the pond to visit his new flame before JoJo later flew to the UK, with the couple at last confirming their romance in early June as the American admitted she's 'head over heels'. During an appearance on Capital Breakfast this week with host Jordan North , the 22-year-old said: 'You know what's interesting? As hectic as life is, and as much as that noise goes on, I feel like Christopher and I discovered this beautiful house together. 'And this house is earthquake proof, and it's fireproof, and bulletproof. And you know, we discovered this house and found the keys, and we took the keys and locked ourselves in, and now it's like... You know what I mean? I feel like that with myself, I feel like that with him.'

Revealed: The top 12 TV shows that cause the most rows in Brits' homes
It is a row that is regularly played out in homes across the country – who gets control of the television remote. And it has emerged that the programmes most likely to cause a squabble are Match of the Day and Love Island. In a poll of 2,000 Britons, 17 per cent confessed to arguing over the football highlights show. Love Island was second on 13 per cent. Researchers found that 55 per cent regularly row over which TV show to watch. A total of 48 per cent said they often 'gave in' to their partner, but then went and watched their programme on their phone instead. Gina Allen, 33, of Watford, said: 'When Saturday comes round, I know that he [my boyfriend] will want to watch Match of the Day. 'I enjoy it too, but only if Spurs have won that day, which isn't often the case, so I prefer watching something on Netflix or Disney at that time of night.' She added: 'Now I have my own Saturday night shows that I watch without my boyfriend while he shouts and screams at the telly in the other room.' Saturday is the day when arguments are most likely to kick off, and 25 per cent of those polled confessed to hiding the remote control or taking the batteries out. One in ten also admitted telling their children that the TV 'stops working' at 5pm. A spokesman for Toshiba, which commissioned the survey, said: 'It's no wonder that 58 per cent of respondents say they own a second screen to reduce TV-related arguments.' Lawyer Henry Nelson-Case said: 'In the court of living-room justice, the battle for the remote is the ultimate trial by fire. 'I've seen less drama in actual courtrooms than when someone tries to switch off Match of the Day mid-match.'
