Dirk Nowitzki's Hilarious Reaction to Major Steve Nash News on Tuesday
NBA legends Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash are teammates again. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Nash is joining Amazon Prime's NBA coverage team starting next season.
Amazon announced in January that Taylor Rooks would be its studio host, with Nowitzki and former Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin hired as the network's first studio analysts.

Nowitzki and Nash were teammates on the Dallas Mavericks from 1998-99 to 2003-04. Nash left the Mavericks in the summer of 2004 for the Phoenix Suns, ending his tenure with Nowitzki. They reached the Western Conference Finals in 2003 and went 222-106 from 2000-2004.
Considered the greatest player in Dallas' franchise history, Nowitzki had a hilarious reaction to Nash being hired by Amazon on Tuesday.
Nowitzki has turned out to be a funny ex-player to follow on X. He has posted several funny things on social media since retiring from the NBA in 2019.
Nash, who retired from the NBA in 2014, replaced JJ Redick as LeBron James' podcast co-host on "Mind the Game." Redick, of course, now coaches James on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Nowitzki and Nash are two of the best players in NBA history. They have combined to win three MVPs and one championship.

Nash won two MVPs with the Suns, while Nowitzki won one MVP, one title, and one Finals MVP with the Mavericks. While they didn't win a championship together, Nash and Nowitzki were a formidable one-two punch during their time with the Mavericks.
Nowitzki and Nash are in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and on the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team. It should be fun to see the NBA icons work for Amazon next season.

Expectations weren't high, but it was a little bit painful when the Dallas Mavericks, who had a 1.8% chance, did end up landing the first pick. To make matters worse, the Mavericks won a coin toss with the Bulls to move up. If that coin flipped the other way, the Bulls could have had the first overall pick. Advertisement Landing Cooper Flagg would completely change the outlook for the Bulls, but alas, the team received the 12th overall pick. Chicago will still be able to land an incredibly talented player with that pick, but that player won't be Flagg. The Bulls have lost in the NBA play-in tournament three years in a row now, and the fan base is desperate for change. The team has been hesistant to make any big moves or tank for a better draft pick, so Chicago has been stuck in an unfortunate middleground. Adding more young talent will certainly help speed up the process, so this 12th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft is a big one. There is a little a little under three week before the 2025 NBA Draft as it will take place on June 25th from the Barclays Center in New York. The Bulls have some time to scout their options, and here is an ideal outcome for Chicago with the 12th overall pick in the NBA Draft: Ideal outcome for Bulls in NBA Draft There are a couple of different things that go into the Bulls achieving the best-case scenario in the NBA Draft, and one of them doesn't have anything to do with the actual draft. It has to do with an offseason trade that needs to go down. Advertisement First, when the NBA Draft rolls around, the Bulls need to take Maryland center Derik Queen if he is available at #12. When the NBA Draft process started, it didn't seem likely that Queen would still be available at #12. However, Queen is starting to slide down the draft board a bit, and it's looking like he could be available. ClutchPoints' NBA insider Brett Siegel has Queen at #13 on his big board: 'Derik Queen has seen his draft stock slip slightly during the pre-draft process due to some concerns about his shot-making abilities,' Siegel wrote. 'Although he is still one of the best frontcourt players available in this year's draft, Queen's form and scoring mentality will need to be worked on. There is a real possibility that Queen becomes this year's Dalton Knecht in the sense that he falls out of the lottery and is on the board in the middle of the first round. Expect there to be teams showing interest in trading up for Queen should this happen, as his stature and rebounding abilities in the paint can help impact winning while he develops a more consistent offensive approach.' While Queen's stock is falling, he still has an incredibly high ceiling because of his size and athleticism. He needs to work on his shooting, but other than that, he is a very polished prospect and can still find other ways to score. It might be tricky to find a player with better potential at #12. The other thing that goes into this scenario is the Bulls trading Nikola Vucevic. This is expected to happen, and it needs to happen. Vucevic is a much better shooter than Derik Queen, so that aspect of his game would be missed in this scenario, but Vucevic doesn't fit into the young core and style that Chicago is going for. 'Reinsdorf, who has been hounded by minority owner Justin Ishbia for years to sell controlling interest of the club, finally agreed to potentially sell it to him beginning in 2029, but not a single day earlier. The Bulls have been stuck during the past few years as their desire to remain competitive has stopped them from achieving the ultimate goal of being a contender. When a lot of teams are in the position that the Bulls are in, they choose to tank to get a better draft pick. Chicago hasn't done that, and it has resulted in three straight play-in tournament losses. Instead of tanking to get to where they want to be, the Bulls are going to make some trades this offseason. One of them could involve Lonzo Ball. Advertisement Lonzo Ball has been in the NBA for eight seasons now, but he did miss two full years because of a knee injury. Ball was selected with the second pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, and he has since played for the New Orleans Pelicans before joining the Bulls in 2021. A lot of people thought that Ball was going to be traded before the All-Star break, but he reached an agreement with the Bulls on a two-year deal. However, that deal left the door open for a trade, and it could be coming soon. Ball isn't the same player that he was before his knee injury, but he is still a good role player when he can stay healthy. He made his long-awaited return to the court for Chicago this past season, and it took him a while to get back into a rhythm. He finished the season averaging 7.6 points per game, which is the lowest total of his career. However, Ball also averaged only 22.2 minutes per game, which is also the lowest of his career. There are some teams across the league that could use a player like Lonzo Ball, and there are others that wouldn't be a good fit. Here are the three best destinations for Ball if the Bulls do decide to trade him this offseason: 3. Charlotte Hornets The Hornets would be an intriguing destination for Lonzo Ball because of the fact that his brother, LaMelo Ball, is currently the star of the team. If LaMelo ends up staying put in Charlotte, that would be a good situation for Lonzo. However, that trade might not be the best decision for the Hornets as Lonzo might not fit into their current rebuild plan. It doesn't seem like a very likely destination, but it would be cool to see the Ball brothers on the same team. 2. Dallas Mavericks Because of Kyrie Irving's injury late last season, Lonzo Ball could be a good fit for the Mavericks. After trading Luka Doncic, everything started to go downhill in Dallas, and the future was looking bleak. However, things started to turn around when the Mavericks shockingly won the NBA Draft Lottery. Dallas had less than a 2% chance to get the first pick, but that didn't matter. The Mavericks got it, and Cooper Flagg is going to be joining the team. Advertisement The addition of Cooper Flagg will be huge, but it doesn't solve every issue. Irving will be recovering from his injury for a while, and the Mavericks could use some help at point guard in the meantime. 1. Los Angeles Lakers Lastly, a return to the Lakers would be great for Lonzo Ball. Ball grew up in Southern California and spent his college days playing for UCLA. The Lakers are the team that drafted Ball, but he only spent two years with the team. The Lakers could use another experienced role player like him for next season as they look to make a deeper run in the postseason in what could be one of LeBron James' final chances at a ring. There is still a lot of uncertainty about Lonzo Ball's future in Chicago, but if the Bulls do decide to trade him, he likely wouldn't be too upset about joining any of these three teams.
