Marcus Rashford speaks out on Barcelona transfer ahead of Man Utd return
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford says he would be keen to link up with Lamine Yamal at Barcelona.
Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa after being frozen out of United's squad by Ruben Amorim last winter.
Villa have the option to sign Rashford for £40 million but the 27-year-old is holding out for a Champions League club and his preference is to join Barcelona.
Last month, Rashford's brother and agent travelled to Barcelona for talks with the Spanish champions over a possible deal.
But while Barcelona are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign, Rashford is not their first-choice target with Liverpool's Luis Diaz and Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams both preferred.

Rashford is understood to be willing to take a significant cut on the £350,000-a-week salary he is earning at United in order to secure a move to Barcelona.
In an interview on YouTube channel XBuyer which was released on Saturday, Rashford was asked if he would like to play alongside Barcelona's 17-year-old sensation Yamal.
Rashford replied: 'Yeah, sure. Everybody in the world wants to play with the best. So hopefully, we'll see.'
The interviewer, Eric Ruiz, went on to tell Rashford that he supports Barcelona and that he would like to see him play for the Catalan club.
Rashford replied with a smile: 'We'll see.'
The England international is currently training individually in Marbella ahead of a potential return to United where he would link back up with Amorim for the club's pre-season campaign.
'Spain is nice, not too far from home,' Rashford said.
'If I train here for a long time, it's good, because my family can come and see me for a few days, it's only a three-hour flight. The weather is nice here.'

RUBEN AMORIM has been told the solution to his goalscoring gremlins is a man once written off as an Everton flop — by his own fans. Guinea-Bissau striker Beto took so long to adapt following his £26million move from Udinese that he was steadily becoming a Prem laughing stock. 4 4 Even when David Moyes ' return to Goodison finally ignited his career, many Toffees supporters remained unconvinced. Yet for all the sneers and cynics, one man reckons Beto would actually be the perfect partner for £62.5m signing Matheus Cunha as Amorim plans a new-look strike force at Manchester United. The Old Trafford gaffer has so far failed in attempts for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo, Viktor Gyokeres from his old club Sporting and Napoli's Victor Osimhen. But Amorim should forget about chasing Europe's most-wanted hitmen — because the answer is just 35 miles away, down the M62. After taking 35 games to hit four Prem goals under Sean Dyche — the man who signed him — he matched that tally in just five when Moyes returned. And Lopes reckons the grit he showed to silence the Goodison cynics would soon win over the doubters if he joined United. He said: 'One of Beto's attributes is the fighting spirit first injected at Tires. He has had the attitude of never giving up since he was a boy. 'I'd love to see him in a more attacking team because if he has the service, he will definitely score around 20. 'His physicality would be a tremendous advantage for United and he's so quick that you have to foul him to stop him. 'I know some will say my head is ruling my heart but for me he is the most effective choice for United — and I know the fans would love him.'
