Prince William and Kate Middleton's next Buckingham Palace balcony appearance seems to have been confirmed.
The Mirror reported that King Charles will be joined by William, Kate, their three kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, Queen Camilla, and other royal family members to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day on May 5. It will be part of four days of commemorations marking the end of World War II in Europe, and the flypast will be undertaken by current and historic aircraft, including the Red Arrows, which have flown over Buckingham Palace during Trooping the Color in the past.
The appearance will come just three days after Charlotte, the Prince and Princess of Wales' only daughter, turns the milestone age of 10 on May 2. Princess Anne and her husband, Sir Tim Laurence, are also expected to attend, as is Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.
'His Majesty is dedicated to bring his family and the country together in honor of Britain's war dead and recreate the sense of community that came with the celebrations to mark VE Day,' a source told The Mirror. 'The four days of commemorations will be a fantastic opportunity for the country to unite for such a special occasion, 80 years after victory was declared in Europe.'
The four days of commemorations will pay tribute to the millions across the U.K. and Commonwealth who served in World War II, and the royal family's Buckingham Palace balcony appearance will happen just ahead of the actual anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE Day), which happened on May 8, 1945. Per The Mirror, further commemorations are expected in the summer for VJ Day (Victory Over Japan), which took place on August 15, 1945. Even before that, the Wales family of five will likely take part in June's Trooping the Colour, which marks the public birthday celebrations of King Charles.

David Attenborough has described the human impact on the deep ocean floor as 'unspeakably awful' in a conversation with Prince William to mark the launch of the veteran broadcaster's latest documentary. In a video filmed at London's Royal Festival Hall in early May and posted to Kensington Palace's social media channels Saturday, the biologist and natural historian reflected on the scale of human damage inflicted beneath the surface – much of it, he said, invisible to the public eye. 'The awful thing is that it's hidden from most people,' Attenborough said. 'What we have done to the deep ocean floor is just unspeakably awful. If you did anything remotely like it on land, everybody would be up in arms.' The pioneering naturalist added that he was 'appalled' when he 'first saw the shots taken for this film' that showed the state of the ocean floor. The feature-length documentary 'Ocean with David Attenborough' explores 'how his lifetime has coincided with the great age of ocean discovery' and 'why a healthy ocean keeps the entire planet stable and flourishing.' The film will be available to stream online from Sunday, which is World Oceans Day.
