ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith was once considered a fan favorite in the NBA world. However, fans have grown tired of his antics.

During the 2024-25 NBA season, Smith received plenty of backlash for his feud with LeBron James. It went from a one-time altercation to him taking shots about the four-time NBA champion's character. He even suggested that James missed the legendary Kobe Bryant's memorial service.
Just a few days ago, Smith took aim at Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton. His comments were in response to Haliburton calling out media critics.
"In case he was talking about me, my brother, I'm not going away," Smith said. "I'm gonna be here for a while. So next year, and the year after that… I'm going to be here, and players far more accomplished and far more superior have made their efforts trying to call me out. How has that worked out?"
Apparently, Smith's latest rival is none other than Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant.

On Tuesday's episode of "First Take," Smith suggested that NBA players don't feel safe in Memphis.
"The people in Memphis, it's a great sports town, great fans, great people, but there's an element there where cats like Jimmy Butler and others don't feel like it's the safest environment," Smith said. "I'm talking to the local authorities in Memphis. You've got to clean some of that stuff up because it's dissuasive to NBA players. They have talked about it. I know, they've told me. That's all I'm saying."

"Talkin bout the grizz more than the finals wit these [cap emoji] ahh sources," Morant wrote on X. "Instead of focusing on the performances we seen from jdub/shai , tj/siakam, how this series is going. we say sumn negative about a city/team on a national level."

Unsurprisingly, Smith clapped back at Morant on Tuesday night.
"So this is what we're doing now @JaMorant? I recall talking about the Finals. But the @memgrizz made news because of Bane getting traded. AND, your possible extension coming up. Would you prefer I go into detail about WTH has been going on in Memphis? Why players have stated they're not interested in going? Or even MORE details? Or would you like me to leave well enough alone, and let the great peeps of Memphis address it on their own? Your call! I'm all ears," Smith replied.

"This man lives for any type of drama/beef that he can find," an NBA fan commented.
"You are just out of pocket," a second fan said. "You're making it personal."
"This dude thinks he's part of the mob or something," a social media user wrote. "Threatening people cause they say something about him. He's a loser and a failure of a man. No matter how much money you have made, you are a loser and a failure."
"You're the worst bro and I used to love you so much you was my hero as a commentator but the way you attack young black players bothers me so much bro I wish you would stop," another fan tweeted.

"He didn't even say your name man lol," a fan asked. "What's goin on with you?"
There's no chance Smith will be disciplined by ESPN for his social media posts. We're talking about a personality who recently signed a five-year, $100 million contract extension.
If anything, Smith will feel empowered to keep butting heads with NBA players.

Latest ESPN NBA Mock Draft has Jase Richardson landing just outside lottery
The NBA Draft is just over a week away so where will Michigan State star Jase Richardson land? ESPN's latest mock draft suggests it'll be just outside of the lottery. ESPN released an updated NBA Mock Draft on Tuesday, which pegged Richardson to be selected just outside of the lottery. This latest mock draft from ESPN has Richardson going No. 16 overall to the Memphis Grizzlies -- who just acquired this pick from the Orlando Magic in a trade. Advertisement Jonathan Givony had this to say about Richardson and the Grizzlies pairing: "The Grizzlies are exactly the type of team that could be interested in an ultra-efficient, productive young prospect such as Richardson, who rates highly in draft models that analytics-savvy teams like Memphis often pay attention to. "Richardson possesses an excellent feel for the game, hit 41% of his 3-pointers this season, brings strong defensive intensity and looks adept at playing off the star power of a teammate like Ja Morant, whose future in Memphis is to be determined. As Richardson's shot-creation diversity and offensive aggressiveness evolve, he could be someone who eventually inherits more significant ballhandling responsibilities, if the Grizzlies decide to pivot toward a youth movement." Richardson has widely been considered a fringe-lottery pick after starring for the Spartans in his lone season in college. He averaged 12.1 points per game and shot above 40% from three-point range, which quickly turned him into an NBA first round projection. Advertisement The NBA Draft will be held on June 25 and 26, with the first round taking place on Wednesday and second round on Thursday. The draft will be televised on ABC and ESPN. Why Russell Wilson could be New York Giants' key to avoiding another lost season
After years of subpar quarterback play, the New York Giants believed they resolved this issue when they signed Russell Wilson to a one-year contract in March. No other position is more important than quarterback, and perhaps no team has upgraded its quarterback position more this season than the Giants. The team firmly believes that the 36-year-old Wilson will help them win many of the one-score games they've lost in the past. Advertisement However, despite being led by a 10-time Pro Bowler, many outside the organization expect the team to finish last in the NFC East and have another double-digit losing season. But perhaps they're undervaluing the upgrade that Wilson brings to the position. Here's why people shouldn't undervalue the future Hall of Fame quarterback being the team's new starter. Fourth-best career TD-to-INT ratio in NFL history Credit: Chris Pedota, / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images One of the biggest reasons for New York's struggles over the last several seasons was Daniel Jones' poor touchdown-to-interception ratio. During his time with the Giants, Jones threw 70 touchdowns with 47 interceptions. Advertisement Wilson, on the other hand, has one of the best touchdown-to-interception ratios in NFL history, having thrown 350 touchdowns to just 111 interceptions. His 3.15 touchdown-to-interception ratio is the fourth-highest in NFL history. He's never thrown more than 13 interceptions in a season, and in eight of his 13 seasons, he's had single-digit interceptions, including his last two seasons with the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers. When a team lacks talent at several positions, as the Giants have over the last few seasons, it's nearly impossible to overcome losing the turnover battle. With the upgrades that general manager Joe Schoen has made to the roster this offseason, in addition to Wilson, fans should have optimism that the team can be one of the surprise teams in the league this year. Wilson shows no signs of slowing down Credit: Chris Pedota, / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Some may not think Wilson being the team's new starting quarterback is significant because he'll turn 37 in November. However, despite entering his 14th year in the league, he has shown no signs of slowing down. Advertisement In 2024 with the Steelers, he completed 63.7 percent of his passes while throwing for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns with just five interceptions in 11 games. In contrast, New York quarterbacks last season completed 61.9% of their passes while throwing for 3,521 yards with 15 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 17 games. By his standards, that might be considered a down year for Wilson, but he finished 14th in passing rating at 95.6. He's never posted a quarterback rating under 84.4, evidenced by the fact that he's been voted to the Pro Bowl in 10 of his 13 seasons. Although he'll be playing for his third different team in three seasons, there's no reason to believe he'll have a down year in 2025 when he'll be throwing to Malik Nabers, who is more talented than any receiver Wilson has played with in recent years. In addition, he'll be playing in Brian Daboll's offense, which caters to Wilson's athletic ability and should make him more efficient this year. Wilson and the team will get a chance to prove their doubters wrong beginning in Week 1, but during Tuesday's media session, the veteran quarterback was asked if he's a better athlete when he has something to prove to people. Advertisement 'I think you're always just trying to prove yourself right. I know what I'm capable of every day. I never lack confidence,' Wilson said. We'll get to see more of what Wilson and the Giants offense are capable of when the team reports to training camp at the end of July. Related Headlines

After months of speculation, the mystery surrounding the Megan Fox daughter's name has finally ended. Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have officially introduced their newborn to the world by name, marking a rare moment of peace and celebration amidst their tumultuous relationship. On June 17, MGK shared an emotional video on Instagram revealing the long-awaited name of his and Megan Fox's daughter. The clip showed the rapper playing the ukulele while his daughter sat nearby. In the caption, he finally unveiled her name, 'Saga Blade Fox-Baker,' accompanied by a heart-on-fire emoji. Although Fox had announced her pregnancy back in November, she has since removed all social media content. Meanwhile, MGK confirmed their baby girl arrived on March 27, posting a touching video of himself holding her hand with the words, 'She's finally here!! Our little celestial seed.' Saga Blade is MGK's second daughter. The 35-year-old artist already shares 15-year-old Casie with his ex, Emma Cannon. As for Fox, this marks her fourth child. Fox and Kelly first met on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass in 2020 and quickly became one of Hollywood's most buzzed-about couples. They got engaged in January 2022, but their relationship has seen its fair share of ups and downs. By the end of 2023, the pair reportedly split after trying to make things work for years. A source told PEOPLE that Fox found the relationship 'exhausting' and had stopped communicating with Kelly. Meanwhile, Kelly's new album, Lost Americana, is all set to release on August 8, 2025.
