Girl, 17, dies by suicide after failing 2 subjects in Class 12
Meerut: A 17-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Khurja area of Bulandshahr district, said police on Sunday.
The dead, Anjali Rani, was a Class 12 student at Mahadevi Ayodhyanath Kanya Inter College. She took the extreme step a day after board exam results were announced, and she allegedly failed in two subjects, said police.
Anjali's brother, Tanishq, said that she had been eagerly awaiting the result, which was announced on Friday. "In the afternoon, she checked her result and came home crying. When we asked her about it, she told us she had failed and then went to her room," he said.
"After a while, we heard her screams and found some sulphas tablets. She was fainting, so we immediately rushed her to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday," Tanishq added.

Biker (18) dies in collision with truck, brother among 2 injured in Gurgaon
Gurgaon: An 18-year-old boy died and two others suffered injuries after a truck hit their scooter near Hayatpur on Sunday afternoon. Bhopal: A dalit youth was shot dead while his brother got injured after a routine ration distribution turned violent in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place at Bilhari village under Naugaon police station area on Sunday. Pankaj Prajapati, 19, was killed, and his brother Ashish was injured after gunfire erupted during a scuffle at the local ration shop. The incident triggered outrage in the region. The violence broke out around 10 am at the Gram Panchayat's ration shop, which is being run from the house of local resident and advocate Praveen Pateria. Video footage of that incident surfaced on Monday.
