Vikrant Massey takes a step back from acting
Indian actor Vikrant Massey took to Instagram to announce that he is taking a step back from the industry to focus on his personal responsibilities. As for what is to become of his career, that remains uncertain at least for the near future.
"The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it's time to recalibrate and go back home. As a husband, father, and a son. And also as an actor," the 12th Fail actor wrote.
"So coming 2025, we will meet each other for one last time. Until time deems (it) right," he continued. "Last two films and many years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted."
Fans were quick to pour out their shock and sorrow in the comments section. "We are not ready for this," lamented one user. Much like this comment, many others were punctuated with emojis relaying tears and heartbreak. "Very, very disheartened with your decision, Vikrant. Wanted to see more of you on the big screen. You are an amazingly talented star. You still have so much to give to your fans. Can't think of not seeing you anymore," another user expressed.
However, due to the ambiguity of Massey's statement, some of his followers remained hopeful. "Take a bow, Mr Massey. You're a brilliant actor and will be sorely missed. So please, enjoy your time away, but do come back soon," a fan wrote. "Truly support your decision to pause, reflect, and recalibrate. All the best for your future endeavours," another wished.
Among those expressing shock was Raashii Khanna, Massey's co-star in The Sabarmati Report. Her objection was a simple "What? No." and echoed in Massey's 12th Fail co-actor Medha Shankar's comment, which was a wordless series of question marks. Some peers even extended their wishes for the 37-year-old actor's decision, with actor Dia Mirza writing, "Breaks are the best. You'll be even more amazing on the other side."
The statement came as a bolt from the blue for the fans not just because of Massey's age and blooming experience, but also because some of his newer projects are yet to be released, such as Zero Se Restart, which is slated for a December 13 release.
In a later post, the artist even promoted his film The Sabarmati Report, which hit theatres in November, giving fans another opportunity to plead with him so that he could somehow reconsider his decision.

It further notes that roofs rely on pillars of support to hold them up, and if the burden on them increases beyond capacity and the pillars are damaged and weakened, the same roof would collapse and kill people. It's a production by an Emmy award winning producer Andrew Tkach.
