New Bern Police investigating two separate shooting incidents
NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) — On May 23, at approximately 11:15 p.m., New Bern police received a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunfire near Queen Anne Lane. Officers responded and recovered several shell casings, but no victims were found at the scene.
Two minutes later, at 11:17 p.m., a 911 call reported a shooting near McKinley Avenue andCharles Street. Police and EMS arrived to find 18-year-old Khalil Grant, a New Bern resident,suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to CarolinaEast Medical Center for treatment.
Detectives are investigating a possible connection between the two incidents. They believe theMcKinley Avenue shooting was a targeted attack and are actively seeking additional evidence and witness accounts.

Makaha shooting: Three males ages 17, 20, 21 arrested
HONOLULU (KHON2) — Honolulu Police Department announced on social media that they have arrested three males, ages 17, 20 and 21 on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and multiple firearm offenses. HPD said on May 31, around 6:45 p.m., three individuals were arrested in the Waianae area following an apparent shooting incident that happened on May 28 in the Makaha area. VIDEO: Shootout with police near University of Akron
AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — Newly released body-camera video of an officer-involved shooting near the University of Akron shows the moment police said a suspect began shooting, causing the officers to return fire as they took cover. The shootout took place at about 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, in the 400 block of Sherman Street. Police said they were initially called to check on the welfare of a teenager in the nearby 400 block of Grant Street, but while on the scene, they heard gunshots nearby and moments later responded. 'Once-in-a-lifetime:' When you can see all three Goodyear Blimps together over NE Ohio As officers were approaching the scene, officials said, they encountered a man who was armed with a gun and running out of an apartment. The shootout lasted just about 12 seconds. 77-year-old woman hit while crossing street A 27-year-old woman inside one of the apartments was found with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. He's accused of firing shots at officers. A firearm and more than a dozen shell casings were recovered from the scene. An officer sustained a minor injury to the leg, but was treated at the scene. One injured, lane closed in I-57 rollover crash in Douglas Co.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois State Police is currently on scene at a rollover crash on Interstate 57 just north of Tuscola. At approximately 3:50 p.m., State Police Troop 7 responded to I-57 southbound milepost 213 in Douglas County for the report of a single unit rollover traffic crash with injuries. At this time, the minor injuries sustained are unknown. One airlifted in I-57 rollover crash in Shelby Co. At 4:24 p.m., State Police said Troop 7, as well as local EMS and police were on scene. At the location of the crash, the right lane is currently closed, and traffic is moving slowly through the area in the left lane. State Police is asking drivers to slow down and be aware of slow or stopped vehicles in the area of the crash. An update will be provided by State Police when the crash scene is cleared.
