Cocktail of the week: Beach House Falmouth's the harbour – recipe
I'm a huge fan of Campari, so am always keen to come up with new cocktails in which it can take centre stage, and this zingy little number is now a firm favourite. We also love working with local Cornish producers, and Caspyn's dry gin is made in West Penwith, on the southern tip of the county.
Serves 1
20ml fresh grapefruit juice, plus 1 slice grapefruit, to garnish15ml fresh lemon juice
15ml agave syrup
40ml dry gin – we use Caspyn25ml Campari
Measure the citrus juices, syrup, gin and Campari into a shaker, fill with ice and hard shake for 20 seconds. Strain into a coupe, garnish with a slice of grapefruit and serve.

Fern Britton claims ex Phil Vickery 'stopped talking to her' after huge loss
Fern Britton has claimed her ex-husband, TV chef Phil Vickery, 'stopped talking' to her following the loss of her mum. The TV presenter, 67, and Phil, 64, were married for two decades before their 2020 divorce, which came as Fern's parents died. In a new interview, Fern has claimed Phil stopped talking to her after the death of her mother in 2018, and she's had no contact since. 'He hasn't spoken to me for six years now. As soon as my mum died, he stopped talking to me,' she said told Yours Magazine. Fern shares daughter Winnie Vickery, 23, with Phil, so says she will try to never bad-mouth him. The former This Morning presenter explained: 'Winnie adores him. I'm not going to bad-mouth him in front of her; at least, I try very hard not to. I was the child of divorced parents and my mum never bad-mouthed my father.' When announcing their separation in 2020, Fern's statement read: 'After more than 20 happy years together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways. 'We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children.' She later said that she and Phil 'fell apart' following the death of her parents. Fern's mother, Ruth Britton, died in January 2018. Her father, actor Tony Britton, died shortly after. Fern and Phil's divorce came after her 2016 hysterectomy and a near-fatal sepsis diagnosis. 'Then my mum died in 2018 and my dad died in 2019, and then my marriage [to chef Vickery] died,' she said in a recent interview with The Telegraph, 'Next, I discovered that my phone had been hacked for 15 years. And last year a man who was stalking me for several years went to court and was given a restraining order. 'For a while, I was wondering what else could possibly happen. But lots of women endure difficult stuff and we just live with it and keep going.' Phil was Fern's second husband, as she was married to Clive Jones for two years before divorcing in 2000. Clive is the father of Fern's three other children: Jack, Harry, and Grace. She added that divorce was 'not a breeze', adding: 'No matter how you hope it's going to be easy and pain-free, inevitably it isn't. It's difficult and brings up a lot of unpleasant characteristics in everybody.' Fern previously opened up about her mental and physical health struggles following the divorce and her parents' deaths, saying she 'fell into this era of indolence' where she 'just started lying in bed later and later and later'. 'What was the purpose of getting up and getting dressed or getting showered or cleaning my teeth because I will soon be back in bed. 'Why don't I start smoking? Yes. Drinking. Yes, eating yes, the whole thing. And then it took me about a year to realise that I put a lot of weight on, that I was not breathing well.' More Trending Now, Fern says she's found her old self again, and is 'enjoying life and having fun' in her Cornish home, where she moved after her divorce. Phil and Fern originally met on the set of BBC Two's Ready Steady Cook and married in spring 2000. Fern has just released her 11th novel, A Cornish Legacy, which tells the story of a woman called Cordelia Jago, as she inherits a crumbling mansion in Cornwall having lost everything. Stunning waterside home sitting above unspoiled Cornish harbour and metres from one of Britain's most revered coastal paths goes on market
A stunning waterside home sitting above an unspoiled Cornish harbour and metres from one of Britain's most revered coastal paths has gone on the market. The property, named Tregwyn, has stunning views of the Port Quin cove and an eye-watering price tag to match - at £1.5million. It is also has easy access to the South West Coast Path, the 630-mile trail featured in new popular biopic film The Salt Path, starring Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs. The four-bedroom, one-bathroom detached house, made from Cornish stone, boasts a whopping 2,168 sq ft of living space. Its unique features include a sea-facing patio terrace in the fenced front garden; a 'naturalised area' with a bench to take in the views; and land to the rear leased from the National Trust, with a shed and vegetable boxes. The home also boasts a wood burner, French doors, large dining room, snug, sun room, shower room, detached garage and a gated driveway with room for up to three cars. Gorgeous pictures show this 'waterfront oasis' at its best, with a view of an astonishing sunset and clear blue waters below, with the cove just 50 yards away. Near popular tourist villages Polzeath and Port Isaac, where ITV drama Doc Martin was filmed, estate agents dubbed this home 'the ultimate coastal dream'. Josephine Ashby, from John Bray Estate Agents, who are selling the property, said: 'There are a few properties that get under your skin, and this is one of them. 'The breathtaking, timeless location is second to none. 'This magical harbour is a very well-kept secret tucked between the popular villages of Port Isaac and Polzeath, with the water lapping at the foot of the cliff beneath you.' The house, used in recent years as a private holiday home, is described on its listing as 'a very well-presented stone house commanding exceptional water views'. It also offers 'front row seats to north Cornwall's sensational sunsets' and 'enjoys a light and sunny aspect in a peaceful and idyllic setting'. The waterfront outdoor space is 'perfect for soaking up the fresh sea air'. Port Quin was once a bustling fishing port, but is now a peaceful, sheltered inlet facing the Atlantic Ocean. It is popular for walking, wild swimming, kayaking, picnics and barbecuing - and boasts a discreet wood-fired sauna, run by a local business. Nearby Daymer Bay, as well as the close-by village of Rock, offer sailing, water skiing, canoeing and windsurfing. Rock also offers a ferry and water taxi across to the popular tourist town Padstow, while shops are near at hand in the market town Wadebridge too, just six miles away. Golfers can enjoy high-quality 18-hole courses at the renowned St Enodoc Golf Club or The Point at Polzeath. The location will likely prove popular for the growing fanbase of the The Salt Path film, based on Raynor Winn's best-selling 2018 memoir. It tells the story of Ray and her husband Moth, who decided to walk the South West Coast Path after their lives unexpectedly took a drastic turn. The failure of a friend's business venture, which they had invested in, saw them evicted and left homeless. And that same week, Moth received a terminal diagnosis of corticobasal degeneration, a rare neurological disease.

Prince William and Princess Sophie wow crowds as they team up for rare Royal double act
Sophie has been touted as the Royal Family's 'secret weapon' SHARE TO THE THRONE Prince William and Princess Sophie wow crowds as they team up for rare Royal double act Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PRINCE William and his aunt Sophie teamed up yesterday in a rare royal double act. They toasted each other with gin during a joint engagement at the Royal Cornwall Show — and she proved to be a tonic by helping out with the heir to the throne's duties. When he was offered a Rattler cider, Wills, 42, quipped: 'Everyone remembers their first Rattler. You don't remember your last.' He pretended to turn his nose up at the zero per cent alcohol option he was initially offered and asked for the proper stuff. At a gin stand, Wills joked he could 'see what today's going to be like' and also teased Sophie. They had been taken into a food and drinks tent, where Sophie was also seen happily chatting to a mother and baby about local produce. They went first to a chutney stand and then to the gin stall as William said: 'We've come from the chutneys straight into booze.' They were shown several gins before each were given one to try. He caught the Duchess going for another sip and joked to her: 'She said, 'You're not allowed to finish it'. You've got to watch her.' Sophie, 60, responded: 'He's learnt from the best.' Wills joked back: 'I've been caught out with whisky a few too many times. Desperate Harry & Meghan jump from idea to idea, only William & Kate have true clout "I think I can do that and then, 'Oh no I couldn't'.' The pair were also given a traditional Cornish pasty by Ann's Pasties. They then moved to the Healeys Cyder Farm stand, where William said: 'Look at the Rattler selection. Ah, definitely I'm happy about that.' Head of hospitality Laura Clerehugh, 36, said: 'I was going to say, you've had a Rattler.' William responded: 'Everyone remembers where they were when they had their first Rattler, I can tell you that.' He then laughingly agreed that you don't remember your last. Wills then asked about the 'zero' on the bottle, and when told that it meant zero alcohol he put the cup down and said: 'Oh no, no, no. I need original. Someone bring out the big guns.' Sources said the day was a huge success. Sophie has been touted as the Royal Family's 'secret weapon' thanks to her unwavering support for the monarchy and dedication to charities. She was ranked the fourth hardest working royal of last year, having carried out 257 engagements. Her welcome contribution comes at a difficult time for the Royal Family. They were rocked last year when the King and the Princess of Wales were diagnosed with cancer. Charles continues to receive treatment, while Kate announced earlier this year that she was in remission. The King had a blast yesterday as he fired an artillery piece on a visit to the Royal Regiment of Artillery at Larkhill, Wiltshire.
