Elon Musk heavily used drugs while campaigning for Trump, report says
Entrepreneur and mega MAGA donor Elon Musk allegedly used mind-altering drugs on a frequent basis while campaigning for President Donald Trump in 2024, according to a detailed report. The conspiracy theory-peddling billionaire, who spent nearly $300 million to put back Trump in power — often garnering headlines of his own on the campaign trail — traveled with ketamine, ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms and what appeared to be Adderall, according to The New York Times. It's unclear if he was using drugs while running Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) prior to announcing he was leaving the administration this week. His behavior during his brief period with DOGE was at times seen as peculiar and concerning, such as when he ran around onstage with a chainsaw at a February conference. He showed up to the White House on Friday with a black eye, which he blamed on being punched by his 5-year-old son, Lil X, while horsing around. The 53-year-old right-wing activist has admitted to occasional ketamine use, but described his intake as moderate. The Drug Enforcement Agency describes ketamine as 'a dissociative anesthetic that has some hallucinogenic effects.' It's known to distort perceptions of sight and sound and make a user feel disconnected and out of control. According to the New York Times, Musk told associates he used the drug so often if was causing bladder issues. Adderall is a prescribed stimulant generally used to treat attention deficit disorder (ADD), though some people take it recreationally. The Food and Drug Administration warns the drug should be used sparingly and that patients using Adderall should be monitored for 'worsening of aggressive behavior or hostility.' The New York Times notes that the period in which Musk practically traveled with his own pharmacy coincided with stressful issues in his personal life, including public revelations that he'd fathered more than a dozen kids and hoped to create a 'legion' of offspring. Conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair was in a Manhattan court on Thursday as part of her ongoing custody battle regarding one of those children, whom she gave birth to in the fall. Musk responded to the Times report by trying to undermine the paper's credibility in front of White House reporters Friday. 'Let's move on,' he quipped. _____
