Princess Diana is inarguably one of the most loved royals across the globe. The Princess of Wales who died in a car accident on August 31, 1997, remains iconic to date even to people who have only seen glimpses of her online in photographs and interviews.
Recently, the late princess's childhood home and final resting place, the Althorp House in the Northamptonshire countryside was burned down by vandals.
Charles Spencer, the brother of Lady Diana and the 9th Earl Spencer took to social media platform X, to announce on Wednesday, "Stunned to learn that one of ⁦@AlthorpHouse⁩'s farmhouses - fortunately, unoccupied at the time - was apparently burnt down by vandals last night.
With thanks to ⁦@northantsfire for doing their very best. So very sad that anyone would think this a fun thing to do."
The 13,000-acre ancestral estate belongs to Spencer who in a previous interview stated how he visits his sister's burial site almost every day. Princess Diana's remains were buried on a small island known as 'The Oval' in the grounds of the country estate which has belonged to the family for five centuries.

The family said that they were "stunned" by the attack on the house which has led to the unoccupied 18th-century farmhouse being "completely destroyed" by the fire. In a statement, the estate said there had been longstanding problems with illegal access and vandalism at the house.
"There has been a fire at Dallington Grange Farmhouse. The house and farm buildings have been unoccupied for several years and the site is scheduled for redevelopment as part of the Dallington Grange development.
The farmhouse was built in the late 18th century and has been completely destroyed by the fire, but the surrounding outbuildings are undamaged. Our priority is to secure the site and make it safe. As far as we know, no one was injured and we are very grateful to Northampton Fire Brigade and the estate team for dealing with the fire so effectively.
There have been longstanding problems with illegal access and vandalism at the house," said the Althorp House in a statement.
The Northamptonshire Police is investigating the suspected arson. The fire began in the early hours of the morning and is considered to be a deliberate attempt but the exact cause is yet to be determined.
The now-burned-down house was once the abode of Diana, the mother of Prince William and Prince Henry who lived in it from the time her parents divorced in 1969 to her own marriage to King Charles, Prince of Wales in 1981. As of now, the house has been unoccupied for several years as it is scheduled for redevelopment as part of the Dallington Grange redevelopment.

PSEB junior assistant's promotion cancelled for tampering with office records

1 2 Mohali: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has cancelled the promotion of a junior assistant after he was found guilty of tampering with official records. The action was taken following a departmental inquiry into the unauthorised transfer of photographs on the certificates linked to roll numbers 1019128823 and 1019128782 in the computer cell, which amounted to gross negligence, cheating, and violation of official conduct rules. Board chairman Dr Amarpal Singh confirmed that Vishal Nayyar, junior assistant in the examination branch (Class X registration branch) was held responsible for the misconduct. His annual promotion has been cancelled with immediate effect, and he has been placed under suspension, he said. "The board has zero tolerance for corruption, negligence, or any action that compromises its integrity," said Dr Singh. "Vigilant board employees noticed the irregularities in time and brought the matter to the attention. The issuance of the alleged certificates was stopped before any damage could be done." Notices were originally issued on May 12, 2020, to eight employees — Jagtar Singh (senior assistant), Raminder Singh Mangi (senior assistant), Ramandeep Kaur (junior assistant), Kanwaljit Kaur (junior assistant), Amarinder Singh (junior assistant), Chamandeep Kaur (junior assistant), Bhawna Sethi (junior assistant), and Vishal Nayyar (junior assistant) — for allegedly violating rules 5 and 8 of the Punjab School Education Board Employee Conduct Rules. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Tabletă Puternică la Preț Incredibil - Oferta Limitată! HC grants influencer interim bail in hate speech case

Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court on Thursday granted interim bail to the fourth-year law student of Symbiosis International University in Pune who was arrested for a video that she had posted online that hurt religious sentiments. The court cautioned her and asked her to be careful while commenting. The HC asked the social media influencer to submit her passport to the Alipore court, help investigations and not to leave the country without the court's permission, even if she needed to go abroad for her education. The student's lawyer told the HC that the girl, who had been in a Kolkata jail since May 30, had her exams starting from June 9. The student was arrested for promoting communal hatred through her comments and an Instagram video, which has now been deleted, after Operation Sindoor. Her interim bail plea was first filed in the HC on June 3, when Justice Partha Saratha Chatterjee asked the state to file the case diary. When the matter came up for hearing before the vacation bench of Justice Raja Basu Chowdhury, the court observed that the arrest warrant against the student, issued on May 22, based on which she was arrested from Gurgaon on May 30, was issued in a "mechanical manner" and contained "many errors". by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Justice Basu Chowdhury also observed that the arrest warrant did not reveal the grounds of arrest, despite the Supreme Court's order that the reasons for arrest should be known to the accused. The vacation bench allowed the interim bail application by the girl against a personal bond of Rs 10,000. The girl's counsel, D P Singh, pleaded for interim bail. The court also directed police to provide her security following her complaint that she was receiving threats. Justice Basu Chowdhury, while noting that the petitioner was a law student, directed her to cooperate with the investigation. The court held that there was no further reason to keep the accused in judicial custody. Advocate general Kishore Datta opposed the granting of bail, citing that the accused was brought in transit remand and an Alipore court had denied her bail plea, remanding her in judicial custody till June 13. Datta submitted that police had reached out to her house on May 18 to serve a notice to appear at a police station but could not find her there. "She didn't cooperate with the investigation," the AG said, adding the arrest warrant was issued after that. Singh said the petitioner and her father went to their nearby police station on May 15 and May 17 to seek for security following threats. Justice Basu Chowdhury observed cops had the responsibility of filing an FIR on receiving a complaint. "The issue requires further consideration," the court held, referring the case to a regular bench for further hearing.

Lahore woman recruiting Indian visa seekers for ISI espionage and propaganda: Intel

New Delhi: Investigators probing the recent cases of espionage have identified a Lahore-based woman with ties to the Pakistani Army and intelligence agency ISI. She used to trap visa seekers and get them to work for ISI, sources claimed. Naushaba Masood, who runs a travel agency in Pakistan, facilitated visas for those who 'cooperated' and supplied them with SIM cards to begin with. The return favours included a range of tasks, beginning with shooting pro-Pakistan videos and uploading them on YouTube to create a favourable narrative. This was a calculated move by ISI to expand its influence through a dual strategy of intelligence gathering and propaganda dissemination. Some of the arrested suspects had Masood's Pakistani number (+92321044****) saved in their phones under the moniker Madam N. Masood worked with her husband, a retired civil service officer, to set up a network of spies in India, sources said. Investigation revealed that she coordinated with Suhail Qamar, first secretary (visa), and Umar Sheryar, counsellor (trade), besides ISI operative Danish alias Ehsan-ur-Rehman. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like If you have a mouse, play this game for 1 minute Navy Quest Undo Masood figured in the interrogation of several suspects and had the reputation of being able to provide a Pak visa 'with a single phone call'. "She lured social media influencers and YouTubers to Pakistan by offering them a free trip, and once they arrived, she would introduce them to Pakistani Army and ISI officials. She specifically targeted individuals from the Hindu and Sikh communities," said a source. The investigation also revealed that in the last six months, Masood facilitated the entry of around 2,500 Indians to Pakistan. "The accused disclosed that she was in direct contact with the seniors at the Pakistani high commission in Delhi and could get visas approved instantly by calling the officials in charge of visa-related matters," said an investigator. The investigator added, "It has been discovered that Masood also handled tours for Sikh and Hindu pilgrims to Pakistan. After charging excessive amounts from the pilgrims, she utilised the additional funds for promoting Pakistan's interests and supporting ISI activities. Masood had agents stationed in several Indian cities, including Delhi, who promoted her travel agency through social media and other means. These agents were used to lure new individuals into her network." Several Pakistani bank accounts have also been traced and these were used to transfer funds from India. The transactions and money trail are being probed. Multiple suspects, including those arrested by Delhi Police's Special Cell recently, confessed that they provided their handlers Indian SIMs and the OTPs to activate WhatsApp in exchange for visas and money. This enabled the Pakistani handlers to operate WhatsApp and other encrypted messaging platforms from Indian SIM cards, masking their real identities.
