Princess Diana is inarguably one of the most loved royals across the globe. The Princess of Wales who died in a car accident on August 31, 1997, remains iconic to date even to people who have only seen glimpses of her online in photographs and interviews.
Recently, the late princess's childhood home and final resting place, the Althorp House in the Northamptonshire countryside was burned down by vandals.
Charles Spencer, the brother of Lady Diana and the 9th Earl Spencer took to social media platform X, to announce on Wednesday, "Stunned to learn that one of @AlthorpHouse's farmhouses - fortunately, unoccupied at the time - was apparently burnt down by vandals last night.
With thanks to @northantsfire for doing their very best. So very sad that anyone would think this a fun thing to do."
The 13,000-acre ancestral estate belongs to Spencer who in a previous interview stated how he visits his sister's burial site almost every day. Princess Diana's remains were buried on a small island known as 'The Oval' in the grounds of the country estate which has belonged to the family for five centuries.

The family said that they were "stunned" by the attack on the house which has led to the unoccupied 18th-century farmhouse being "completely destroyed" by the fire. In a statement, the estate said there had been longstanding problems with illegal access and vandalism at the house.
"There has been a fire at Dallington Grange Farmhouse. The house and farm buildings have been unoccupied for several years and the site is scheduled for redevelopment as part of the Dallington Grange development.
The farmhouse was built in the late 18th century and has been completely destroyed by the fire, but the surrounding outbuildings are undamaged. Our priority is to secure the site and make it safe. As far as we know, no one was injured and we are very grateful to Northampton Fire Brigade and the estate team for dealing with the fire so effectively.
There have been longstanding problems with illegal access and vandalism at the house," said the Althorp House in a statement.
The Northamptonshire Police is investigating the suspected arson. The fire began in the early hours of the morning and is considered to be a deliberate attempt but the exact cause is yet to be determined.
The now-burned-down house was once the abode of Diana, the mother of Prince William and Prince Henry who lived in it from the time her parents divorced in 1969 to her own marriage to King Charles, Prince of Wales in 1981. As of now, the house has been unoccupied for several years as it is scheduled for redevelopment as part of the Dallington Grange redevelopment.

1 2 Mohali: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has cancelled the promotion of a junior assistant after he was found guilty of tampering with official records. The action was taken following a departmental inquiry into the unauthorised transfer of photographs on the certificates linked to roll numbers 1019128823 and 1019128782 in the computer cell, which amounted to gross negligence, cheating, and violation of official conduct rules. The inquiry report also held Manjinder Singh, Helper, and Jugraj Khan, a daily wager, responsible for supporting the wrongdoing. Separate disciplinary action has been taken against them. Jugraj Khan's services have been terminated due to his involvement in the case. The inquiry also noted supervisory negligence on the part of senior officials in the computer department. HC grants influencer interim bail in hate speech case
Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court on Thursday granted interim bail to the fourth-year law student of Symbiosis International University in Pune who was arrested for a video that she had posted online that hurt religious sentiments. The court cautioned her and asked her to be careful while commenting. The HC asked the social media influencer to submit her passport to the Alipore court, help investigations and not to leave the country without the court's permission, even if she needed to go abroad for her education. The student's lawyer told the HC that the girl, who had been in a Kolkata jail since May 30, had her exams starting from June 9. The student was arrested for promoting communal hatred through her comments and an Instagram video, which has now been deleted, after Operation Sindoor. Her interim bail plea was first filed in the HC on June 3, when Justice Partha Saratha Chatterjee asked the state to file the case diary. New Delhi: Investigators probing the recent cases of espionage have identified a Lahore-based woman with ties to the Pakistani Army and intelligence agency ISI. She used to trap visa seekers and get them to work for ISI, sources claimed. Naushaba Masood, who runs a travel agency in Pakistan, facilitated visas for those who 'cooperated' and supplied them with SIM cards to begin with. The return favours included a range of tasks, beginning with shooting pro-Pakistan videos and uploading them on YouTube to create a favourable narrative. This was a calculated move by ISI to expand its influence through a dual strategy of intelligence gathering and propaganda dissemination. Some of the arrested suspects had Masood's Pakistani number (+92321044****) saved in their phones under the moniker Madam N. Masood worked with her husband, a retired civil service officer, to set up a network of spies in India, sources said. The transactions and money trail are being probed. Multiple suspects, including those arrested by Delhi Police's Special Cell recently, confessed that they provided their handlers Indian SIMs and the OTPs to activate WhatsApp in exchange for visas and money. This enabled the Pakistani handlers to operate WhatsApp and other encrypted messaging platforms from Indian SIM cards, masking their real identities.
