Houston METRO police officer arrested in child sex crime sting

The Brief Gabriel Thomas Slusher, a METRO police officer, was arrested for attempting to solicit nude photos of an 8-year-old, following an online investigation by Montgomery County Precinct 1. Slusher was apprehended at METRO Police headquarters with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service and is being held on a $100,000 bond, suspended without pay pending further investigation. METRO PD condemned Slusher's actions as deeply disturbing and contrary to their values, while law enforcement agencies emphasized the importance of collaboration in protecting children. MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - Members of a task force that tracks child predators online in Montgomery County arrested a METRO police officer on Thursday. Gabriel Thomas Slusher, 27, is charged with attempt to commit sexual performance by a child under 14. What we know An undercover investigator with the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable's Office was conducting an online investigation on Tuesday, June 10, when he made contact with a man investigators later identified as Slusher. Precinct 1 said the man requested nude photos of an 8-year-old female. As part of the investigation, authorities created an undercover persona of a 28-year-old female with an 8-year-old daughter residing in Magnolia, Texas. During the investigation, the undercover officer communicated through an undercover Kik profile with Slusher. On June 10, while reviewing personal ads on investigators saw an ad titled "Married cop", and the ad read, "28m 280lbs with full facial hair looking for discrete regular fwb or affair I'm open to anything message me here or ad me on kik …" The investigator started to have conversations with Slusher on Kik where both talked about their "interests". That's when Slusher admitted to being into young girls and had "no limits" and was into "taboo relationships". Slusher asked the undercover investigator how old "her" daughter was and when Slasher found out she was 8-years-old he replied, "Nice good age". Slusher exchanged images with the undercover investigator of himself and nudes. During the investigation, Slusher told the undercover to send him nude pictures to confirm he wasn't talking "with a cop". Throughout the investigation, two other undercover officers also engaged in conversations with Slusher on Kik, and received photos of him. The investigators were able to compare photos and in one photo, Slusher sent he was in a police uniform. The undercover officer told Slusher that they were into "cops in uniform" and, upon receiving more Slusher pictures in uniform, they saw his name patch and that he worked with the Houston Metro Police Department. After authorities conducted a search in a law enforcement database for the name of Gabriel Thomas Slusher, they obtained his address, date of birth, and past addresses; investigators were also able to obtain Slusher's Texas driver's license photo. What they're saying Jacquelyn Aluotto is the Co-Founder and President of No Trafficking Zone, and she told FOX 26 this case is deeply disturbing. "Whenever you see cases like this of online solicitation or someone try to buy a child. It's always disturbing but when you see that it's an officer that people trust, it becomes even more disturbing because you start to understand that predators are everywhere," Aluotto said. "We see predators preying it is their job. We like to tell parents to monitor their children's phones. A lot of the time these kids don't know when they're being groomed, recruited, or lured through an internet chat." Decatur man gets 8 years in prison for distributing child pornography

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — A Decatur man was sentenced to eight years in prison after he pleaded guilty to possessing and disseminating child sex abuse material. The Illinois Attorney General's Office, which prosecuted the case with assistance from the Macon County State's Attorney, announced that Charles Bolsen, 66, was sentenced on Thursday. He pleaded guilty to two of the 10 counts against him — a Class X felony of disseminating child pornography and a Class 2 felony of possessing child pornography. The other eight counts were dismissed as part of a plea deal. 38-year-old man arrested in Urbana on child exploitation crimes In a sworn statement, Edward Mohan, an investigator with the Attorney General's Office, said the case started last year when he received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The messaging platform Kik reported that an account with the username 'Chucklebutt1' had sent two videos of child sex abuse. Mohan then filed search warrants to Kik, Yahoo (since a email was used to create the account) and Comcast (to track the IP address). 'The Kik search warrants contained the original two files noted within the cyber tip and one new one. This file contained what (I) would describe as child pornography,' Mohan said. 'The Kik returns also contained conversations showing Chucklebutt1 was asking for CSAM (child pornography) material and payment was discussed.' The Yahoo and Comcast search warrants traced the email, a phone number and the IP address back to Bolsen, and Mohan then obtained a search warrant for his home on South Evergreen Drive. Bolsen was then detained and interviewed, and an iPhone was seized from him. 'Bolsen admitted twice to sending the CSAM material,' Mohan said. 'Bolsen admitted to paying for CSAM material.' Danville man arrested, charged with sexual assault, child pornography A digital forensic exam later found 46 files of child sex abuse material on Bolsen's iPhone, including two that were 'visually similar' to the files Kik reported. Mohan said Bolsen gave 'multiple reasons' for why he had child sex abuse material. After accepting Bolsen's guilty plea on Thursday, Judge Thomas Griffith sentenced him to eight years in prison for the Class X count of disseminating child pornography. He is day-to-day eligible and was given credit for almost 11 months he spent in jail and on home confinement. Bolsen was also sentenced to a consecutive two years of conditional discharge for the Class 2 count of possessing child pornography. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. 'Today's sentence represents justice for exploited and abused children and acknowledges the often lifetime of trauma survivors and their families experience,' Attorney General Kwame Raoul said in a news release. 'My office will continue to collaborate with law enforcement officers throughout the state to protect children from exploitation and hold offenders accountable.' Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. South Carolina Republican Rep. RJ May distributed hundreds of child porn files under username ‘joebidennn69': feds

A South Carolina Republican lawmaker — who once preached about the importance of safeguarding children from unnecessary harm — is accused of distributing more than 200 files of child pornography online while using the screen name 'joebidennn69,' federal prosecutors alleged. Robert 'RJ' May, 38, a member of the House of Representatives in the Palmetto State, was arrested at his Lexington County home Wednesday on a 10-count indictment charging him with distributing child sex abuse material, court documents showed. 3 Robert 'RJ' May, a hardline conservative, allegedly distributed 220 child porn files on Kik under the username 'joebidennn69.' AP Advertisement The married father of two used 'joebidennnn69' and several other user names to exchange 220 obscene files containing extremely graphic footage of children and toddlers engaged in sex acts on the messaging app Kik over five days last spring, federal prosecutors alleged. The three-term rep allegedly downloaded the sickening files on his home Wi-Fi network and cellphone, prosecutors said, noting that some files were hidden using a private network while others were directly linked to his personal IP address. Lawyers for May suggested at his arraignment that someone else could have been using his WiFi password to procure and share the twisted images. Advertisement Officials launched their investigation after the social app flagged suspicious activity to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in April 2024. 3 Prosecutors requested May, a married father of two, be held without bail because his children were the same age as many of those who were in the child abuse materials. AP Homeland Security agents searched May's house in August 2024 and seized nearly three dozen electronic devices from his home, including a laptop, a tablet, four cell phones, four hard drives, and 19 thumbdrives, The State reported. On one of those seized devices, May allegedly kept several videos of himself on trips to Colombia engaging in sex with three women who appeared to be underage and were paid, a DHS official testified. Advertisement Prosecutors asked that May not be given bail because his two children are the same age as those who were exploited in the illicit material. May, first elected in 2020, founded the House Freedom Caucus in the state as part of a hard-line conservative movement that ran to the right of many Republicans, according to The State. 3 The sick Republican lawmaker referenced former President Joe Biden in the Kik account he used to distribute the sickening materials. via REUTERS The House Freedom Caucus expelled May on Wednesday following his arrest with former allies now calling on him to resign from his position in the state house, that report stated. Advertisement The congressman was a vocal advocate for pet conservative causes such as protecting the family. 'We as legislators have an obligation to ensure that our children have no harm done to them,' May said in January 2024 during a debate on transgender care for minors, just months after his house was raided by feds. He was ordered to remain in jail until his trial. Each charge carries a five-to-20-year prison sentence. With Post wires
