Park City To Begin Multi-Year Parking Structure Project

Construction on a new parking structure at Park City Mountain, Utah, will soon begin in the Canyons Village, and reductions to free parking are expected starting March 17.The TownLift reports that, on March 17, 50% of the Cabriolet lot at the Canyons Village will close. About two weeks later, capacity in the Cabriolet lot will reduce further between April 1 and April 20 before closing entirely until December 2025 as construction on the new garage continues. Via the Cabriolet lot, visitors to Park City Mountain can park and then ride a small ropeway to the Canyons Village base.'The arrival and parking experience to Canyons Village will undergo some adjustments,' Vail Resorts, the owners of Park City Mountain, said in a press release, noting that additional staff and signage will be used to help guests navigate the changes to parking.Want to keep up with the best stories and photos in skiing? Several lines of the free Park City transit system pass through the Canyons Village base.
All surface lots in the Canyons Village remain free this winter, and guests with four or more passengers in their vehicles can park in the upper Lot 4. Paid parking is available in the Upper Village garage parking structures and designated spaces along W. High Mountain Road.In a press release, Vail Resorts said that the garage will increase carpooling and reduce congestion, as well as feature a ground-floor pedestrian plaza, electric vehicle outlets, and easy, walkable access to the Cabriolet. 'This new parking plaza creates a single, convenient, covered point of arrival with multiple entrances that gets guests on snow with ease,' the press release reads.The structure will be located at the southeast corner of Lower Village Road and the Frostwood Drive/Canyons Resort Drive roundabout and joins the construction of the new Sunrise Gondola in ongoing Canyons Village projects. The Sunrise Gondola, which will transport guests from the base to the Red Pine area, has a planned opening next ski season.The garage consolidates and replaces surface parking throughout the Canyons Village. The TownLift reports that once complete, it will house approximately the same number of currently available stalls alongside pre-existing surface parking.When asked if the new garage would offer free or paid parking, resort officials didn't provide confirmation, saying that details haven't yet been finalized, the TownLift reports.
