Saudi Arabia Announces Sales Season for Ramadan, Eid Al-Fitr

The Saudi Ministry of Commerce on Thursday unveiled the timing of the sales season for Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 2025.
The sales season will start on February 9, 2025 (Shaaban 10, 1446 AH) and last until April 3, 2025 (Shawwal 5, 1446 AH). This move will enable consumers to begin their shopping earlier and avoid last-minute rushes, promoting responsible consumption.
Moreover, businesses and e-stores can apply for sales permits online, via the Commerce Ministry's portal. The online submission streamlines the process of obtaining the sales permits, without losing days from the annual sales balance.

Sales permits allow consumers to check the validity of the discounts, according to Saudi Gazette. Consumers can use their mobile camera to scan the barcode on the sales permit and get all the details related to the offer, such as the type and percentage of the discount and the basic data of the facility.
Furthermore, the Saudi Ministry of Commerce announced that its officials will continue inspecting businesses to ensure the legality of sales and monitor their implementation across all the Kingdom's regions.
The sales season for Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 2025 will likely see many attractive offers and discounts on a diverse range of products and services.

As Saudi Arabia is gearing up for Eid Al-Adha holiday, Riyadh Transport has announced adjusted operating hours for Riyadh Metro. The new working hours will take effect from Thursday, June 5, 2025 until Thursday, June 12, 2025. The changes aim to accommodate the increased movement and travel patterns during the Eid Al-Adha holiday. According to the Riyadh Transport X account, the Orange Line will operate daily from 10 am to midnight, effective from June 5 until June 14 (corresponding to Dhu'al-Hijjah 9 to 18). The line will resume its regular timetable on June 15, 2025, operating from 6 am to midnight. Meanwhile, the other Riyadh Metro lines (Red, Blue, Green, Purple and Yellow) will have a different timetable as follows: From 8 am to midnight on June 5 From 10 am to midnight on June 6, 7, and 8 From 8 am to midnight on June 9, 10, and 11 The lines will get back to regular schedule on June 12, 2025, operating from 6 am to midnight. Furthermore, the Riyadh Transport announced adjusted operating hours for Riyadh Buses, which will work from 5 am to midnight from June 5 to June 12. The on-demand bus service will also be available throughout the same period to meet the increased demand during Eid Al-Adha holiday. On November 27, 2024, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, officially inaugurated the Riyadh Metro project, one of the largest transportation networks in the world. Saudi Arabia has announced Eid Al-Adha holiday, which will extend for four days for the employees of the private and non-profit sectors, reported the Saudi Gazette. On Wednesday, the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) announced that workers in the private and non-profit sectors will have a 4-day holiday for Eid Al-Adha. The holiday will start on the Day of Arafat, falling on Thursday June 5, 2025 and last until Sunday June 8, 2025. Moreover, the HRSD stressed that employers should take into account the overlapping cases stipulated in Article 24 of the Executive Regulations of the Saudi Labor Law to ensure that the holiday is implemented in line with the applicable rules. On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia confirmed the sighting of Dhu'al-Hijjah crescent moon, announcing Wednesday, May 28, 2025 the first day of the final month of the Islamic calendar. This means that Hajj rituals will begin on June 4, 2025, the eighth day of Dhu'al-Hijjah (Day of Tarwiyah). The Day of Arafat will fall on June 5, while the Day of Eid will be on June 6, 2025. Muslims celebrate Eid Al-Adha by prayers, animal sacrifice and charity work, fostering community togetherness. Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is obligatory for all able-bodied Muslims who can afford it, at least once in their lifetime. Hajj is a spiritual experience for Muslims, which involves undertaking a set of rituals performed by Prophet Mohammed PBUH centuries ago.
