The Rise of Express Beauty: How Salons Are Redefining Self-Care for the Fast-Paced Consumer

Express beauty is redefining self-care, offering quick, high-impact treatments tailored for today's fast-paced lifestyles.
In an era where every minute matters, beauty salons are undergoing a quiet but powerful transformation. The rise of express beauty services — quick, high-impact treatments designed to deliver visible results in under an hour — is not just a trend; it's a direct response to the demands of a fast-paced, hyper-connected world.
'As lifestyles become increasingly fast-paced, today's consumers are looking for beauty solutions that are not only effective but also time-efficient," notes Aditya Sharma, CEO, Cut&Style Salon. The shift is palpable — express facials, quick blowouts, and targeted skin and hair treatments are becoming the norm for busy professionals and students alike. 'Express beauty is no longer just a trend—it's a response to evolving urban lifestyles where every minute counts," Sharma emphasizes.
Clients today want to step into a salon during a lunch break or between meetings and emerge feeling rejuvenated, polished, and confident. This shift has prompted salons to rethink traditional service formats, streamline operations, and train their teams to deliver results-driven treatments with precision and speed. 'The future of beauty lies in adaptability," Sharma says, 'and express services represent a natural evolution, making self-care more accessible, time-efficient, and aligned with the modern consumer's lifestyle."
Subham Virmani, Director, Esskay Beauty Resources, echoes a similar observation, noting that the appetite for express beauty is particularly strong among millennials and Gen Z. 'They're looking for results-driven treatments that are time-efficient, cost-effective, and easily accessible," he says. This generation wants to look polished without spending hours in the salon, redefining self-care as something quick, efficient, and result-oriented.
From 15-minute facials and lash lifts to multitasking rituals that combine hair, skin, and nail care into one session, salons are rapidly innovating to meet these evolving expectations. Virmani highlights another emerging trend: the growing demand for men's grooming services. 'Express facials and detox hair rituals are becoming increasingly popular among male clients who value both convenience and high-performance results," he shares.
The transformation isn't limited to service menus alone. Salons are increasingly embracing digital solutions for diagnostics, bookings, and even express ritual kits, ensuring a seamless and hygienic client experience — a priority in the post-pandemic era. 'The rise of mono-dose formats has further helped minimize cross-contamination risks, making express treatments a safer and smarter choice," adds Virmani.
Another shift? Pricing models. As clients seek greater flexibility and value, there's a noticeable move toward à la carte options and curated express bundles that allow customization without the hefty price tag or time commitment. 'Ultimately, express beauty isn't just a trend; it's a reflection of the modern consumer's demand for convenience without compromise," says Virmani.
In this new landscape, salons are not merely offering faster services; they are reshaping the very definition of beauty and self-care. The future belongs to those who can deliver impact, personalization, and speed — helping consumers look and feel their best, all in the time it takes to grab a coffee.

Jobs platform Apna's interview prep tool records 760K AI interviews

Job seekers are increasingly turning to AI-powered tools for interview preparation, using virtual coaches and real-time feedback to sharpen their skills. Online jobs platform Apna, which launched AI Job Prep — an AI interview preparation tool — completed over 7.6 lakh interviews and clocked more than 39 lakh minutes of interviews within just three weeks of launch. The tool was launched on 18 May. "The tool offers realistic interview simulations, instant performance feedback, and personalised improvement tips to help candidates build interview confidence," the company said. It currently offers interviews for over 25,000 job roles across 3,000 top companies, with questions tailored to specific companies and job profiles. The tool also personalises interviews based on the person's résumé. Among the top roles for which individuals prepared were software development, product management, data analyst, accounting, digital marketing, and sales. While tech roles accounted for 42 per cent of total interviews, 58 per cent came from non-tech sectors such as retail and logistics, among others. In terms of geography, the adoption of the tool was highest in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, which accounted for 44 per cent of total interviews. As for the age groups, Gen Z (18–24 years) emerged as the most active user group, contributing 58 per cent of total interviews, while millennials (25–30 years) followed at 27 per cent. Male users accounted for 76 per cent of total participation, while female engagement stood at 24 per cent. Earlier, an Interview Readiness Index 2025 by the company revealed that only 32 per cent of job seekers in the country feel prepared for interviews. The report also highlighted the growing role of digital tools in boosting interview readiness, with users of digital or AI-powered platforms reporting higher confidence levels at 38 per cent.

Loewe's Tomato Clutch is the most absurd bag of the season; here's why

(Image Credits: Loewe website) Luxury label Loewe has always thrived on a mix of aptitude, irreverence, and pure whimsy. It's a brand that doesn't just follow the zeitgeist, it bends it. Known for pushing boundaries with a wink, Loewe's latest viral moment is a perfect case in point: the Tomato Clutch. Once dismissed as 'absurd,' it's now basking in the fashion limelight, and yes, owning it. A part of the Paula's Ibiza 2025 collection, this summer fruit-inspired accessory is less of a bag and more of a cultural reset. With its glossy, plump shape and high-fashion absurdity, it feels like the spiritual cousin of the viral Labubu Doll, tailored for a Gen Z audience fluent in memes, irony, and designer drops. Like most great internet stories, this one began with a tweet. Back in June 2024, an X (formerly Twitter) user shared a photo of a shiny red heirloom tomato. Another user replied, 'This tomato is so Loewe I can't explain it.' And just like that, a meme was born. The resemblance between the oddly perfect tomato and Loewe's offbeat design aesthetic was too good to ignore and clearly, Jonathan Anderson agreed. From meme to reality Within weeks, Loewe's creative director Jonathan Anderson responded with a short video unveiling the Tomato Clutch. The caption? 'Loewe meme to reality.' And honestly, no notes. Made from a moulded metal frame covered in nappa lambskin, the bag captures the exact ribbed texture and curves of a real tomato, blurring the line between surrealism and craftsmanship. There's a golden leafy crown on top, which functions as both a lock and a handle, plus a long chain that transforms it into a chic sling. The whole piece is unapologetically weird and incredibly beautiful. It's design with a sense of humour, without compromising on luxury. The Tomato Clutch is more than a novelty item. It's a commentary on the way fashion and internet culture now feed off each other in real time. It shows how brands like Loewe aren't just passively observing social trends - they're jumping in, laughing along, and then translating the punchline into a five-star runway moment. Anderson's move from meme to market wasn't just fast, it was intentional. In an era where virality is currency and irony is style, he managed to turn a fruit joke into one of the most talked-about accessories of the year. (Image Credits: Loewe website) Sure, it's shaped like a tomato. But the Tomato Clutch is also surprisingly wearable, thanks to its compact size and luxe detailing. Whether paired with linen for a breezy vacation look or tucked under your arm at a gallery opening, it gives any outfit a bit of eccentric elegance. Plus, in a world where most It bags end up looking the same, this one's got actual personality. And that's something fashion has been craving for a while. The Tomato Clutch feels like a moment - a cheeky, clever reminder that fashion doesn't have to take itself too seriously to be spectacular. It's playful, poetic, and proof that inspiration really can come from anywhere, even a grocery aisle. 'White Lotus' Season 3 Leaves Fans Screaming, Disturbed And Confused | Here's Why So what's next? A Loewe baguette (yes, the bread)? A kale leaf tote? At this point, the brand has proven it can take anything, anything and turn it into an object of covetable cool. Got a weird idea that feels so Loewe you can't explain it? Don't be surprised if you see it on the runway next season. One step to a healthier you—join Times Health+ Yoga and feel the change
