Denver weather: Storms to clear overnight, chance of showers tomorrow
DENVER (KDVR) — A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day is no longer in effect for Wednesday evening, as the threat of severe weather has diminished.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. for the south and east parts of the state as thunderstorms could produce large hail, damaging wind gusts over 60 mph or even rotation that could lead to a tornado.

A tornado watch will remain in effect for Eastern Colorado, and into Western Kansas and the Oklahoma panhandle, until 9 p.m. During this time, conditions are favorable for thunderstorms that could produce large hail, damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph.
Thunderstorms continue Wednesday evening, with the risk for storms becoming strong to severe, producing strong winds, large hail and even the risk for tornadoes farther east.
Storms will clear overnight, followed by patchy areas of fog developing as low temperatures fall to the upper 40s, which is right in line with normal for this time of year.
Some showers will redevelop late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.
Clouds will linger on Thursday, with some clearing later in the day. Temperatures will be cooler and only reach the upper 60s, which is nearly 10 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year.
By the afternoon and early evening, a few showers and thunderstorms will develop, mostly in the mountains and foothills.
Friday will start off mainly sunny. Then, as high temperatures climb to the 80s, a few showers and thunderstorms will develop. Saturday looks similar with morning sunshine, and a high around 80 degrees ahead of a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
Sunday will be sunny and dry, helping to boost high temperatures to the mid-80s.
Then, the pattern of afternoon showers and thunderstorms returns by the start of the workweek alongside a cooling trend.

Atlantic hurricane season begins
The Atlantic Basin hurricane season began June 1. The Atlantic Basin includes the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf and the Caribbean. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released its forecast for the upcoming season, which runs through November 30. They are predicting 13 to 19 named storms, six to 10 of which may become hurricanes. Forecasters are predicting a 60 percent chance of an above-average season. The development zones for tropical development are typically the Gulf, down into the Caribbean between the Yucatan and Cuba, and the Eastern seaboard. Here's a look at the names for the 2025 Atlantic Basin hurricane season: The prediction of an above-average season has to do with ENSO-neutral conditions expected, along with an enhancement in the West African monsoon.
