Kylian Mbappé released from hospital after being treated for gastroenteritis
Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has been released from hospital after being treated for gastroenteritis, the club announced on Thursday.
Real Madrid had said earlier on Thursday that the 26-year-old had been admitted to hospital after suffering from 'an acute case of gastroenteritis.'
The Spanish club said he would undergo tests and 'follow the appropriate course of treatment.'
Later in the day, Los Blancos said that Mbappé had left hospital and returned to the team's training complex in Palm Beach where he would 'continue with specific medical treatment and will gradually return to team activity.'
Gastroenteritis is an infection of the intestines that can cause diarrhea, pain or cramping in your abdomen, nausea or vomiting, and sometimes fever, as described by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
Mbappé missed Real Madrid's opening game at the FIFA Club World Cup on Tuesday in Miami where it drew 1-1 with Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia.
Real's next game at the tournament is against Mexican side, Pachuca, on Sunday in Charlotte, North Carolina. Its final group game is against Salzburg on June 26 in Philadelphia.
The Club World Cup is Real's first competition under new head coach Xabi Alonso who replaced Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season.
In Mbappé's debut campaign with Real Madrid last season, the French captain scored 43 goals in 56 matches, winning the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup along the way – as well as the European Golden Boot as Europe's top scorer – but missed out on the La Liga title by four points and was knocked of the Champions League by Arsenal in the quarterfinals.

FC Barcelona Coach Flick Fires Warning To Lamine Yamal
FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick fired a warning to star player Lamine Yamal during an interview published by the club's official magazine. The pair have just wrapped up a domestic treble-winning season together in Flick's maiden term manning the dugout, and while Lamine is currently holidaying in Brazil with former Barca winger Neymar, Flick interrupted his own vacation to reflect on some key topics. I also saw that he needed confidence. He is Brazilian and, therefore, he has quality, but he also puts in heart, mentality and attitude. In addition, he always works in defense. He has a lot of potential,' Flick said. Though it was only coming up short in a Champions League semifinal against Inter Milan, by an aggregate score of 7-6, that cost Barca the chance to have an untouchable season, Flick stressed that it his approach is 'not about seeking perfection, but progression'. 'When I see the team improving day by day, I think that's what I really want. I'm here at this incredible club to help these players show their best selves. So we'll work hard and try to play at the highest level. That means, of course, fighting to win the Champions League and La Liga, which is not easy at all. It's about working hard and doing it together, to show what a great team we are,' Flick stated. Flick pointed out that 'it's not all physical, it's also mentality' in terms of guaranteeing success. 'In the last games of the season we perhaps suffered a little with the pressure they put on us in defence because they knew us better. It is important to have the best physical trainers and that they adjust to the football that is played at Barça. I could bring them from Germany, but I think it's a different philosophy and the players need someone to work with theirs. That has also been a success of Deco, which has brought experienced people. I think Julio Tous is perhaps the best. In addition, German, Pepe and Rafa have done a great job,' Flick said. Women's Asian Cup qualifiers moved from Jordan to Qatar amid Israel-Iran conflict
Group A fixtures in the upcoming Women's Asian Cup qualifiers have been postponed and moved from Jordan to Qatar amid conflict between Israel and Iran. Jordan, Iran, Lebanon, Singapore, and Bhutan comprise the group, with matches initially due to take place in Amman — the capital of Jordan — between June 23 and July 5. Advertisement The Football Association of Singapore said in a statement on Thursday that its matches would no longer take place in Jordan due to the 'ongoing situation in the region and logistical concerns raised by several Participating Member Associations (PMAs) as reasons for the change.' The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) confirmed on Friday that matches would instead be taking place in Qatar between July 7 and July 19, with the draw for the final tournament set to take place on July 29. The AFC said further details on the venues and match timings for the Group A qualifiers will be announced 'in due course'. Jordan is a neighbouring country of Israel, with Amman approximately 110km east of Tel Aviv, and is separated from Iran by Iraq. On June 13, Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Iran and the countries have since been exchanging missile attacks. Singapore captain Rosnani Azman said, via the Singapore team website: 'Of course we were looking forward to competing, but safety comes first. As a team, we've always believed in adapting and staying ready. We'll keep training hard and supporting one another, and make sure we're ready when the time comes.' The Women's Asian Cup, hosted in Australia, takes place from March 1 to March 21 2026, with Sydney, Perth and the Gold Coast its host cities. China beat South Korea 3-2 in the 2022 Asian Women's Cup final to claim a record-extending ninth title in Navi Mumbai.
