Telugu star Nani has officially joined the sets of 'The Paradise', marking the start of a key 40-day filming schedule for the much-anticipated film directed by Srikanth Odela.
The production commenced on June 21 in Hyderabad, with initial portions focusing on the childhood sequences of the narrative.
Nani joined the team on Saturday, launching a pivotal phase in the shoot that will cover major scenes involving the lead cast.
The film has been generating considerable buzz since its announcement, particularly as it marks the second collaboration between Nani and director Srikanth Odela following the success of their 2023 blockbuster 'Dasara'.
The official social media handles of 'The Paradise' shared a striking image from the set featuring Nani as his character 'Dhagad'. Nani's character poster from 'The Paradise'.
The actor is seen standing with one foot placed atop a stack of weight plates, dressed in green leather shoes and an ornate anklet-watch combination—offering a first glimpse into the stylised world the film promises.
Backed by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner, 'The Paradise' is shaping up to be a multi-lingual release. It is scheduled to hit theatres on March 26, releasing in eight languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, English, and Spanish.
The production team has yet to reveal the complete cast and crew, but excitement continues to build with music being composed by Anirudh Ravichander, known for his dynamic and chart-topping soundtracks.
With high expectations following the critical and commercial acclaim of 'Dasara', all eyes are on this reunion between Nani and Odela as they work to bring 'The Paradise' to life.
On the workfront, Nani was previously seen in 'Hit 3: The Third Case'. The film was directed by Dr Sailesh Kolanu, who directed the previous two films in the franchise.
'Hit 3' also featured Srinidhi Shetty, Rao Ramesh, Prateik Patil, Tisca Chopra, and various others.

Andhra Pradesh fisherman's son breaks barriers, wins literary award

ANAKAPALLE: In the small coastal hamlet of Vada Rambilli under Rambilli mandal in Anakapalle district, a powerful story of resilience and literary achievement has emerged. Surada Prasad, a 25-year-old writer known by his pen name Prasad Suri, has become the first—and youngest—member of the fishermen community to receive the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar in 2025. His Telugu novel Mairaavana earned him the prestigious award, marking a significant milestone not just for himself but also for his Vada Balija community along the Visakhapatnam coast. Prasad's journey is one of determination, passion, and an unwavering commitment to storytelling. Born to Surada Chandrarao and Nukaratnam, a fishermen couple who moved from Vada Narsapuram to the Buggavagu reservoir in Macherla of Palnadu district in search of a livelihood, he grew up in a family unfamiliar with reading or writing. Neither of his parents nor grandparents were literate, making him the first in his family to attend school and later graduate. He spent his early years in Macherla, completing primary education before returning to Vada Rambilli to live with his maternal uncle and grandmother for secondary schooling. He pursued Intermediate in Yelamanchili and went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad. He is currently pursuing Master's degree in Archaeology at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Prasad's artistic journey began with childhood sketching and painting, later growing into a passion for history, mythology, and literature. Despite financial struggles, he worked various jobs to support his education and pursue meaningful storytelling. He began his literary career with 'My Name is Chiranjeevi,' a semi-autobiographical novel set against the backdrop of Vizag's culture and slang. Written at the age of 19, it follows the struggles of a teenager named after Prasad's favourite film star, Chiranjeevi, navigating life through high school and Intermediate years.

Maa Box Office Collection Day 2: Kajol's Film Mints Rs 10 Crore, Sees Slight Growth

Last Updated: Kajol's mythological horror film Maa, directed by Vishal Furia, got mixed reviews. Despite a slow start, it crossed Rs 10 crore. Kajol's big-screen return after three years with Maa, a mythological horror film directed by Vishal Furia, has been met with a mixed response from both critics and audiences. Despite a lukewarm start on Friday with Rs 4.65 crore, the film showed a slight upward trend on its second day. As per early estimates, Maa has now crossed the Rs 10 crore mark at the box office. As per trade tracker Sacnilk, Maa earned Rs 4.65 crore on its opening day and followed it up with Rs 5.4 crore on Day 2. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film held its ground, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 10.05 crore. On its first Saturday, the film saw a Hindi occupancy rate of 22.36 per cent starting with 9.94 per cent in the morning, which picked up to 26.87 per cent in the afternoon and peaked at 30.26 per cent during evening shows. Maa was released alongside Vishnu Manchu's big-budget mythological drama Kannappa, which opened with a strong Rs 9.35 crore on Day 1. However, while Maa showed a slight rise in collections on its second day, Kannappa witnessed a dip. A part of the review of Maa by News18 read, 'The concept and story have substance, but the film lacked largely because of its style of storytelling. Besides, the film also has a lot of stereotypes that could have been done without. Besides the exaggeration that the palace had a almost 30-feet tall Kali maa's stone carved statue, the way people from Chandrapur talk in the film, everything seems to be a cliche that all the Bengalis would be running away from. It only gets disappointing to see Ronit Roy, who plays a vital part in the film, deliver all his Hindi dialogues with such a heavy Bengali accent. A lot would argue that it is not how people from Bengal speak when they talk in Hindi." In Maa, a mythological horror thriller, Kajol takes on the powerful role of Ambika, a fearless mother who will stop at nothing to protect her daughter from dark, supernatural forces. The film blends myth and mystery, marking Kajol's first foray into the horror genre. Alongside her, the cast includes Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, and Kherin Sharma. Directed by Vishal Furia, Maa is backed by producers Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Subbarayan. First Published: June 29, 2025, 07:34 IST
