British singer Example forced to cancel gig just hours after performing at Glastonbury as he apologises to fans
Example has issued an apology to fans after pulling out of a gig on Saturday night just hours after performing at Glastonbury.
The singer and songwriter, 43, performed on the Shangri-La stage at the iconic music festival on Friday night.
However, after his set, he was forced to cancel another appearance on Saturday night in a move that disappointed fans.
Example, whose real name is Elliot John Gleave, was due to perform at Granite City Festival in Aberdeen.
In a statement to his fans, the musician said: 'During my set at Glastonbury, we experienced some unexpected sound issues that forced me to push my voice much harder than usual.
'I could feel it starting to go, so we made the difficult decision to cut the set short by 20 minutes to protect it ahead of today's performance at Granite City Festival Aberdeen.
'I left the site immediately after the show and arrived at Gatwick by 7am, managing to get a few hours' sleep before my flight to Aberdeen.
'Unfortunately when I woke up, my voice was completely gone.
'I hate cancelling shows - over the past 21 years, I've played 1,534 gigs and only ever cancelled 11.
'Scotland has always been my favourite place to perform and this was an incredibly hard decision to make.
'To everyone who was planning to see me today - and to the Granite City Festival team - I'm truly sorry.
'We'll make it up to you, E x.'
Example later clarified he wasn't making a dig at the production crew at Glastonbury, and said he had to rest up to fly back to Australia and be a 'professional dad'.
At the start of this year the singer welcomed his third child - and first - with girlfriend Daisy Cox.
Confirming his girlfriend had gone into labour a month early, Example told fans: 'Lucas Winter Cox Gleave. Aka Lukey Baby… aka Gorge Lucas. 01.01.25.
'Arrived 4 weeks ahead of schedule and he's absolutely perfect. Best NYD present ever. And no one gonna forget his birthday ever. Mummy and baby doing great.'

Five months earlier, the musician revealed his nine year marriage to Erin - an Australian actress - was over, with the former couple focused on raising their two sons, Evander, ten, and Ennio, 7.
Addressing the separation in a joint statement, they wrote: 'At the start of the UK summer we decided to separate. We have had an amazing 11 years together, but just a few too many adventures.

'Obviously we spent a lot of time behind the scenes trying to figure things out, but we came to the realisation that perhaps our time as a couple had just come to a natural end.
'So we have decided to go our separate ways whilst there is still an abundance of love and respect for one another.
'We have been Co-parenting happily and effectively now for almost half a year and our boys are surrounded with love.'

Stuart Burrows, internationally renowned opera singer, dies at 92
The internationally renowned Welsh opera singer Stuart Burrows has died aged 92 following a short in Cilfynydd in Rhondda Cynon Taf, he performed for the first time with the Welsh National Opera in 1963 and went on to sing at world famous La Scala in career took in the Met Opera in New York for 12 seasons and he also appeared at the Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Royal Opera House in the height of his career - in the 1970s and 80s - Burrows starred in his own BBC Two series, Stuart Burrows Sings. 'We've lost a great' Burrows received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Wales in 1981, a Fellowship of Trinity College, Carmarthen in 1989, and he also received an Honorary Fellowship from Aberystwyth 2007 he received an OBE for his services to a tribute, the former UK government culture minister, Kim Howells, said: "Stuart Burrows had an amazing voice, he was an internationally renowned singer and very remarkable individual who came from this south Wales valleys village which has produced so many extraordinary people from rugby players to politicians."We've lost a great here and I send my condolences to his family."Burrows' family said he died on Sunday morning following a short a post on Facebook, his son Mark said: "Words cannot express how much I will miss this true Welshman who (as he liked to say) loved to sing a bit!"

Glastonbury fans branded Nile Rogers and Chic the 'best act they've seen in years' after his set on Sunday, as he led the performers rounding out the festival's final day. The 1970s icon, 72, known for hits such as Le Freak and Everybody Dance, took to the Pyramid Stage after Rod Stewart 's Legends slot. But fans were quick to praise Rogers' groove-filled performance, demanding that it should have been one of this year's headliners instead. Glastonbury returned to Worthy Farm, in Somerset, this year with The 1975, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts and Olivia Rodrigo headlining. Taking to the stage on Sunday for the final day of the festival included the likes of Wolf Alice, Snow Patrol and Noah Kahan. And Fat Boy Slim, real name Norman Quentin Cook, took to Instagram to reveal that his set was his 100th time performing at Glastonbury. Fat Boy Slim wrote: 'My 100th set. Thanks for having me. Alan Carr tell us where we are…. GLASTONBURY ❤️.' Meanwhile St. Vincent, real name Annie Clark, brought her All Born Screaming tour to the Woodsies Stage. 'I would like to thank you for hanging in all the way to day four of this festival,' she said to the crowd. 'I'm not sure what kind of trip you're on but I want to be on it too, baby.' Over on The Other Stage, thousands of people hugged their best friends and chanted 'me and you' as Wolf Alice played friendship anthem Bros.
