OPEN// PM arrives in Uganda for extraordinary summit of TCCs to AUSSOM
KAMPALA, April 25 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Friday arrived in the Ugandan capital, Kampala. The premier, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, will lead Egypt's delegation to the Extraordinary Summit of the Troop Contributing Countries (TCCs) to the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), hosted by Entebbe city, Uganda.
Madbouli is scheduled to deliver Egypt's word at the summit that includes a closed meeting of the heads of state and government, followed by a photo op of the heads of delegations, a general session, and then the adoption of the summit's joint statement.
The summit falls within the transition from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to the African Union Support Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
The UN Security Council Resolution 2767 (2024) endorsed the African Union Peace and Security Council's decision to replace the ATMIS with the AUSSOM, with effect from January 1, 2025. (MENA)
