During his spell in Russia at Spartak Moscow, the Senegalese international was suspended for a violation of anti-doping control in Italy when he was a player at Cagliari.
That suspension caused him to miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar for Senegal, though he was a member of the side that captured the Africa Cup of Nations that same year.
After beginning his senior career at Lazio, Baldé came to the Principality in August 2017 on a five-year contract for a reported transfer fee of €30m.
Les Monégasques were the reigning Ligue 1 champions when he arrived, and he made some brief apearances with the club over the course of two seasons. They finished as runners-up in the Coupe de la Ligue in 2017-18 and wound up second in the 2018 Trophée de Champions tournament.
He saw little action while at Monaco and spent two seasons on loan to Serie A sides Inter Milan and Sampdoria before moving to Cagliari in late August 2021. He helped them capture the Trofeo Sardegna in 2021.
Baldé joins Monza with the club eight points below the Serie A relegation line after 24 matchdays, netting the second-fewest goal in the Italian top-flight (21). They have lost 10 of their last 11 matches across all competitions, including a 5-1 drubbing against Baldé's former side Lazio last Sunday.
In 185 Serie A appearances, Baldé has 41 goals, the third-most by an African player in that competition, with only George Weah's 46 and Victor Osimhen's (26) tally of 65 above him.

City of Auxerre and AJA aiming to fast-track expansion of Abbé Deschamps
Expanding Stade de l'Abbé Deschamps this year is a matter of importance to the city of Auxerre and its beloved club. That is at the top of the agenda for AJ Auxerre executive chairman Baptiste Malherbe and Auxerre mayor Crescent Marault. Advertisement Speaking to L'Équipe on Friday, Malherbe said: 'I was hoping to inaugurate the new stand in 2025. Now, it's in danger of being 2026. There's a real urgency. Those who say that we can do otherwise are mistaken, in terms of security, development… We need this tool: we have the 17th biggest budget in Ligue 1. We have overperformed for four years relative to our economic means. If we don't have that (stadium expansion), we're dead.' The hope is that the stadium, which has been around since 1918, expands from its current capacity of 17,500 to 20,000 in time for next season. Auxerre finished the previous campaign in 11th place in their first season back in Ligue 1. Marault, meanwhile, is pitching this project as 'essential for the territory.' The club is expected to present the plan at Auxerre's council meeting on June 26 in hopes of receiving funding. The project is expected to cost around €15m for the club, which would not only allow more fans to attend AJA matches but also improve the accessibility of the stadium and its safety. Advertisement The proposed expansion would be at the Leouault stand, one of the lateral stands of Abbé Deschamps. At the moment, Stade Abbé Deschamps is the third-smallest Ligue 1 stadium in terms of capacity, with only Stade Francis Le Blé, home to Stade Brestois (15,000) and AS Monaco's Stade Louis II (16,036) having a smaller capacity. This past season, the average attendance for AJA's home matches in Ligue 1 was 16,600, meaning they were usually at 95% capacity. The population of the city of Auxerre is 35,000. If the Loualt grandstand were to get the green light, the project would also include an expansion of the stadium shop, along with the construction of an 80-room hotel and a medical house or a brewery. Stade Abbé Deschamps was last renovated in 1994 when it got its current name. GFFN | Joel Lefevre

Report – €45M Rated Man United Star Pushing For Inter Milan Move
Man United striker Rasmus Hojlund is pushing for a transfer to Inter Milan. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Inter Milan have been pushing to sign striker Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United. Advertisement Despite the Danish international's struggles since his move to Old Trafford, the Nerazzurri still believe that he can re-find his form and have a massive impact in Serie A. Therefore, reports the Gazzetta, Hojlund is Inter's top target in attack. They want to sign him alongside Parma's Ange-Yoan Bonny. (Photo by) And according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Hojlund himself would be keen on a move to Inter. The switch from Atalanta to United has not exactly done wonders for the Dane's career. Therefore, he would be happy to return to Serie A. Accordingly, Inter are hoping that Hojlund's desire for the move to happen is decisive in talks with United. Advertisement For their part, the Red Devils want a fee of around €45 million for Hojlund. Inter have not balked at this fee. They are ready to pay somewhere in that region for the 22-year-old. However, the key matter is the formula for a deal. Inter want an initial loan deal, whereas United are keen to sell Hojlund once and for all. But with Hojlund pushing to make the transfer happen, inter hope that United's stance will soften. Particularly, the Nerazzurri could convince the Red Devils by offering an initial loan fee. Then, a purchase obligation that would be triggered in relatively straightforward conditions.

Why Retegui's 25th Atalanta goal was legendary
Mateo Retegui has made history as the all-time Atalanta top scorer in a single Serie A season, but also broke Alessandro Del Piero's particular record. The striker was on target to secure the 3-2 victory away to his old club Genoa this evening at Marassi and that allowed him to consolidate his status as Capocannoniere. Advertisement It was his 25th goal of the campaign in Serie A, breaking the club record of 24 that had been set by Pippo Inzaghi in the 1996-97 campaign. (Photo by) This is not all, because Retegui also broke another rather unusual record that confirmed his versatility as a centre-forward. Since Opta began collating the results in 2005-06, Alessandro Del Piero at Juventus in 2007-08 was the only player to have scored at least 10 goals with his left foot and 10 with his right in a single Serie A season.
