Sam Thompson and Louis Tomlinson 'hold peace dinner' in a bid to 'ease awkwardness' over Zara McDermott after coming face-to-face at Soccer Aid training

Daily Mail8 hours ago

Sam Thompson and Louis Tomlinson are said to have held a Soccer Aid 'peace dinner' before their match to ease any tensions over Zara McDermott.
The pair have been training together for the charity event, which saw them come face-to-face for the first time since it emerged Louis, 33, was dating Sam's ex Zara.
The dinner reportedly took place at Champneys in Tring, Herts with their other teammates in a bid to keep the peace ahead of the big game on Sunday.
A source told The Sun: 'There is no beef between the pair and they're both going to ensure their love lives don't distract from such a big charity spectacle.
'They are fully aware that their every move is being scrutinised and they've broken bread with their teammates, so it'll be smooth sailing on the day.'

MailOnline has contacted reps for Louis and Sam.
During an episode of their podcast last month, Pete Wicks, 37, teased Sam about the prospect of the potentially awkward encounter between him and Louis.
The TOWIE star asked his co-host: 'You're really going through it with the whole f****** body and dieting and training loads. Is that for Soccer Aid?'
But, not dropping the subject, Pete then asked: 'Any kind of people in there who you're looking forward to playing with?'
'Loads,' Sam laughed: 'Tom Grennan. I'm really looking forward to playing alongside Wayne Rooney, Tyson Fury's the manager. I can't wait'.
Pete joked: 'I mean that's gonna be f****** amazing. Make sure you get him on side though because you may need him in your corner in case you fall out with anyone. Not that you will but just in case there's any rivalries or anything.
'You know, you have to train together and it's a lot, you know when you're kind of in close quarters with someone like that. All sorts gets brought up. Anyway...'
Late last year I'm A Celebrity champ Sam, 32, split with former Love Island star Zara, 28, after five years together.
It was then revealed in March how Zara had moved on with former One Direction singer Louis.
Sam has since moved on with Love Island beauty Samie Elishi, 25.
After their blossoming romance was confirmed when they shared a steamy kiss in Mayfair last month, speculation of a split grew after Samie was noticeably absent from Sam's highly-publicised challenge for Soccer Aid.
Such rumours have since been squashed however, with their romance reportedly going from strength to strength as they 'love spending time together on their days off', a source close to the couple told MailOnline.
Meanwhile, Sam has been forced to pull out of the upcoming Soccer Aid match on Sunday after he suffered a string of injuries, including a calf injury, after his 260-mile challenge.
Instead of playing the game, he will now be helping from the sidelines as a coach after getting injured.
Opening up about his injury, Sam spoke to This Morning hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.
He said: 'I'm still very sore, still got the torn calf, however I am here at Soccer Aid HQ and it does not get better than this.
'We've still got the management team of England, we've got Vicky McClure, Tyson Fury, who's stepping into some new shoes and Harry Redknapp...'
He continued: 'But also because I'm not going to be able to run around, you've also got me, part of the management team. Come on baby!'

Sam Thompson and Louis Tomlinson hold 'peace dinner' ahead of Soccer Aid match

Sam Thompson and Louis Tomlinson are said to have officially buried the hatchet ahead of this year's Soccer Aid match. The podcast host, 32, and One Direction superstar, 33, have been training together for the charity game this weekend at Old Trafford in Manchester. Sam and Louis join the likes of Tom Grennan, Bella Ramsey, Wayne Rooney, and Jill Scott as the England team takes on World XI FC to raise vital funds for UNICEF. And while fundraising is, of course, the main focus of the event, there has been quiet drama simmering on the sidelines that has also captured fans' attention. You'll remember that Sam was dating former Love Islander Zara McDermott, 28, for five years before shocking everyone by calling it quits last December. Pop star Louis then struck up an unlikely romance with the documentary maker, and they've been spotted on several cosy dates and blissful getaways in recent months. And while everyone was eager for a showdown between Sam and Louis as they both took to the pitch in the name of Soccer Aid, reports claim the pair are keen to avoid anything of the sort. According to The Sun, Zara's ex and her new lover held somewhat of a peace dinner before kick-off. The meal allegedly took place at Champneys in Tring, Herts, with other teammates present. A source told the publication: 'There is no beef between the pair, and they're both going to ensure their love lives don't distract from such a big charity spectacle. 'They are fully aware that their every move is being scrutinised, and they've broken bread with their teammates, so it'll be smooth sailing on the day.' Louis last played for Soccer Aid several years ago, so he's keen to make a strong comeback. He said after his signing was confirmed for the England team: 'Manchester! It's about 10 years since I last turned out for Soccer Aid, so I thought it was about time I returned to the pitch.' Meanwhile, Sam has been ruled out of any pitch action due to injuries he acquired last week during his five-day Soccer Aid challenge. The intense Match Ball Mission saw Sam run and cycle a total of 260 miles from London to Manchester, raising over £1.5million for UNICEF. Alas, Sam has now been forced to take a backseat and help out with Soccer Aid management due to his legs 'falling apart'. He told This Morning a few days ago: 'I'm still very sore, still got the torn calf… I'm not going to be able to run around. You now have me as part of the management team. Come on, England!' He explained that he'll be coaching from the sidelines along with Vicky McClure and Tyson Fury, which allows him to still 'put [his] two pence in'. 'I will still get to be part of it all.' Sam's withdrawal comes after he was quizzed on coming face-to-face with 1D star Louis for the first time since their love lives crossed paths. Speaking on his Staying Relevant podcast, which he hosts with Pete Wicks, Sam explained to his best pal that the unexpected topic from a journalist made him 'sweat'. Sam told Pete of the incident: 'At the end of the interview, he goes, 'Look, mate, I've got to ask the question that everyone wants to know; this is sort of the big question, really, the elephant in the room. What's it going to be like with you and Louis? Obviously he's doing Soccer Aid too.' 'Mate, you should have seen the room. It was silent, and then everyone goes, 'Woah, Woah, Woah, end the call! End the call!' and I have just gone, 'No, no, guys, I've got this, I've got this.' I held my hands up to say, 'Just relax'.' Laughing as he recalled the chaotic moment, Sam said his PR was 'panicking' as, despite putting on a bravado, the reality star actually had no idea what was about to come from his mouth. Thankfully, Sam was able to string a coherent response together and emphasise what really matters with Soccer Aid. 'I think I did alright, and I meant everything I said as well, that it's not about me or Louis or who anyone is dating; it's f**king Unicef and charity, and everyone is going to be there for the exact same reason,' he said. 'And if [Louis] has anything about him, which I've heard he does, he's going to sit there and say the exact same thing.' Pete applauded him for handling the potentially uncomfortable situation with grace, sarcastically asking whether he shed tears once the call ended. 'I came off, and I wasn't far off that [crying], and I didn't realise I was sweating so hard I had sweat patches under my arms,' Sam said. 'You know when you're sweating buckets? And I turned around to our PR and was like, 'Was that OK?'' More Trending 'It's going to be a beautiful, special day, and we are both playing together for such a great cause, and all of us taking part in this are in it for the same reason.' Sam is now thought to be dating ex-Love Island star Samie Elishi, while Louis and Zara were first papped together a couple of months ago. An insider previously told The Sun that the Silver Tongues hitmaker 'absolutely charmed her'. 'It's clear he thinks she's drop-dead gorgeous too.' Got a story? Harry Redknapp's net worth and Soccer Aid star's secret to happy 56-year marriage with wife

Harry Redknapp's net worth and Soccer Aid star's secret to happy 56-year marriage with wife Iconic Premier League manager Harry Redknapp returns for his eighth Soccer Aid on Sunday, as England look to retain the charity match crown after an emphatic victory last time out Harry Redknapp is back to spearhead England's management team for Soccer Aid 2025 (Image: ©UNICEF/Soccer Aid Productions/Stella Pictures ) Former Tottenham, West Ham and Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is back for his eighth Soccer Aid as the long-running charity match returns to Old Trafford. Since being founded in 2006 by popstar Robbie Williams and presenter Jonathan Wilkes, Soccer Aid has become an annual favourite. Raising money for UNICEF UK, over £100million has been collected through the years, with over £15m raised last year alone. ‌ England were the victorious party last time out, beating the World XI 6-3, with iconic former Premier League head coach Redknapp part of the management team. The I'm a Me Out Of Here! winner has been lending his expertise to the event since 2008, and as it returns to its spiritual home of Old Trafford in 2025, so does he. ‌ Ahead of Soccer Aid 2025, we take a look at the life led by the King of the Jungle behind the scenes, including his net worth, admissions about his dear wife Sandra and a multi-million-pound mansion he once owned. What is Harry Redknapp's net worth? Before making his name as a charismatic and business-savvy manager, Redknapp enjoyed a long playing career for the likes of West Ham and Bournemouth. He first took up a managerial position in 1983 with the Cherries and then the Hammers, before stints with Portsmouth, in the second of which he won the FA Cup. Article continues below Redknapp has amassed a fortune throghout his years in football (Image: PA ) At his next destination, White Hart Lane, he would guide Tottenham to the Champions League and win the Premier League Manager of the Year award in 2010. Thanks to his many years as a top manager and from his various endorsements since heading into retirement, it is estimated that Redknapp's fortune stands at £13million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. ‌ Who is Harry Redknapp's wife? Redknapp wed his beloved Sandra at Barking Abbey church in 1968, having first met at the tender age of 17. Though they humorously admitted to getting their dates wrong when celebrating their 55th anniversary in 2022, only for it to be the 54th year they'd been together. Nevertheless, the couple have been inseparable for over half a century, and, speaking to GB News three years ago, Redknapp swooningly admitted: "I'm so lucky to be married to Sandra. She's looked after me. She's my life, to be honest." Redknapp married wife Sandra in 1968 (Image: ) ‌ The former Premier League boss has also shed light on one reason why the pair's marriage has continued to last with such strength, as he penned in his and son Jamie's 2024 novel, A Family Obsession: "She's never been into football, she doesn't go to football. "She didn't even go to watch me play, and it's been a great thing that she never got involved. I'd hate to have had her come home and have her saying, 'What did you do today? Why didn't you do that?' or whatever. I couldn't have stood that." Harry Redknapp's Sandbanks home sold for millions Both Redknapp and his wife Sandra have long called Bournemouth and the surrounding area home, and he became synonymous with the plush Dorset neighbourhood of Sandbanks when he moved into his first property there, a mock-Tudor mansion, in 2001. ‌ This home, which the couple lived in for 13 years, was offloaded in 2015 for £6.9m to Topps Tiles founder and millionaire businessman Barry Bester, and was later sold for a Sandbanks record £10m in 2021. The couple are set to return to Sandbanks soon (Image: Getty Images ) Redknapp purchased a new property just down the road after selling up, and demolished it in 2023 to make way for a new upgrade. The pair relocated inland to the affluent suburb of Branksome Park on the back of the demolition, but are now set for a Sandbanks return after applications were finally approved to construct a five-bedroom luxury Italian villa. Article continues below The new mansion will overlook Brownsea Island nature reserve, feature a grand entrance hall and have a double garage. It is estimated to be worth £12m.
