EAM Jaishankar meets visiting Vietnamese Deputy FM
New Delhi, June 25 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today met Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong during which he appreciated the positive momentum of the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. The Vietnamese Deputy FM was in New Delhi to participate in the India-Vietnam 13th Political Consultation and 10th Strategic Dialogue, held here today. In a post on X, the EAM said: 'Pleased to receive Deputy FM Nguyen Manh Cuong of Vietnam. 'Appreciate the positive momentum of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.' The MEA spokesperson said in a post on X: 'India-Vietnam 13th Political Consultation & 10th Strategic Dialogue, co-chaired by Secretary (East), P. Kumaran and Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy FM of Vietnam, convened today in New Delhi. 'The two sides reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations & discussed ways and initiatives to further strengthen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Operation Sindhu: Another flight arrives bringing 296 Indians, four Nepalese from Iran
New Delhi, June 25 (UNI) As part of Operation Sindh, another flight arrived today bringing 296 Indian and four Nepalese nationals evacuated from Iran, taking the total number of Indians evacuated to 3,154. The MEA spokesperson said in a post on X: '#OperationSindhu update '296 Indian and 4 Nepalese nationals were evacuated from Iran on a special flight that arrived in New Delhi from Mashhad at 16:30 hrs on 25th June. '3154 Indian nationals have now been brought home from Iran as part of #OperationSindhu'. Earlier, one flight arrived today with 224 Indian nationals evacuated from Israel, and another flight arrived bringing 282 Indian nationals from Iran. Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje received the 224 Indian nationals who returned to India from Israel on an IAF C17 aircraft in the morning. Till date, 818 Indian nationals have returned home from Israel as part of Operation Sindhu. UNI RN

In a X post,he said today is the 50th anniversary of imposition of Emergency on Bharat. On this Black Day in 1975 Democracy in Bharat was killed, Constitution of Bharat was trampled, Fundamental rights of citizens were suspended, the Judiciary was made subservient to the Executive, Press was completely gagged, millions of nationalists were imprisoned and academic institutions were shut, Mr Ravi said. "Armed security forces occupied campuses. As a University student, I suffered rifle blows for not vacating my hostel room", he recalled. "We must not forget those traumatic days when an insecure Prime Minister with contempt threw the Constitution and Constitutional safeguards to the wind and tried to seal the fate of the entire nation and democracy for power", he said. "My humble and heartfelt homage to the millions of our brave countrymen and women who risking their lives and of their families fiercely resisted the brutal dictatorship and made it unendurable", the Governor said. "Thanks to their sacrifices that the dictatorship could not be enduring and democracy returned", Mr Ravi said. He said "Let each one of us take the pledge to defend the Constitution of Bharat at any cost and ensure that no one even dares to disrespect it and the great nation does not ever suffer such a Black Day again."
