Prince Harry 'to invite Royal Family to Invictus games' in possible reconciliation move

Daily Record6 hours ago

Prince Harry is said to be 'extending the olive branch to King Charles and Prince William' by inviting them to the Invictus games in hopes to reconcile with his family...
Prince Harry is reportedly preparing to extend an invitation to his family for the 2027 Invictus Games in what is seen as a meaningful gesture towards reconciliation after years of strained tension.
The Duke of Sussex is believed to be aiming to repair his relationship with his father, King Charles and his brother Prince William, following the controversy surrounding his 2023 memoir Spare, which further strained his ties with the royal family.

Former invites to the games are expected to be sent later this month.

According to The Mail on Sunday, Harry is hoping that by giving the royal family plenty of notice - as senior royals often plan their schedules up to three years in advance - they will be able to attend the event.
"Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family. Invictus hopes the Royal Family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part," a source stated to the Mail, continuing: "Harry is hopeful his father will set aside their differences to attend the Invictus Games and support veterans."
"The Royals have always been hugely supportive of Invictus and proud of what Harry has achieved in that arena. This is one olive branch from him which might be reciprocated."
If King Charles and Prince William accept the invite, it would mark the first time Prince Harry has been pictured with the royal family since the funeral of his grandmother, late Queen Elizabeth II.

Although not everyone is convinced that the father and son duo will accept the strained Prince's invite, with royal expert Katie Nicholl stating: "The King absolutely wants a relationship with his youngest son and with his grandchildren."
"He has an incredible capacity for forgiveness and he wants to be magnanimous in all of this and therefore there's certainly a possibility that the King might consider attending Invictus," she continued.
Ingrid Seward added: 'The King might attend to show support for the Armed Forces and congratulate Harry on the most significant success in his life."

"The only reason the King is wary of associating with his son is that he no longer trusts him not to repeat their private conversations as he has done in the past. This goes for all the working members of the family," she expressed.
The 2027 Invictus Games are set to be held at Birmingham's NEC from 12 to 17 July, overlapping with Queen Camilla's 80th birthday celebrations.

Despite the overlap, the royal family has traditionally shown support for the event, which Prince Harry established in 2014 to honour wounded, injured and ill servicemen and women.
However, it's still unclear whether Harry's wife Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet will make the trip to the UK, for the games.

Harry previously stated that a family visit would be challenging following his loss in a legal battle in May over his entitlement to police protection while in Britain.
Last month, Harry acknowledged that his relationship with his father, King Charles, had broken down due to the ongoing security dispute, telling the BBC: "He won't speak to me because of this security stuff... I don't know how much longer my father has."
Looking at the broader family tensions, he added: "Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book... for lots of things. But you know, I would love reconciliation with my family. I've always... there's no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious."

Now, it has been confirmed that it will be back for a second series after becoming Paramount+'s second biggest show ever - just trailing behind Landman. The streamer revealed that the show had been viewed 26 million times globally in the 70 days since its premiere. Confirming the second series, Chris McCarthy, one of Paramount Global's three CEOs and president of MTV Entertainment said: 'With more than 26 million viewers and climbing, MobLand has become a resounding triumph — driven by the creative brilliance of Guy, Jez, Ronan and David Glasser, and brought to life by the powerhouse performances of Tom, Pierce, and Helen. 'We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to #1 in the UK.' In MobLand, Pierce takes the role of Irishman Conrad Hannigan, whose wife Maeve is played by Helen. The pair head up a criminal family in London. The tenth episode of the gangster show faced backlash over Pierce Brosnan's Irish accent - with some critics calling for it to be axed. However, a dramatic end involving Tom Hardy's character Harry appears to have got viewers hooked on the idea of more episodes - something which has now been confirmed as a reality. In a shock move, Harry's loyal wife Jan stabbed him in the chest in a fit of rage while chopping carrots in the kitchen. Pierce Brosnan's wife Keely shows off weight loss transformation as they join the cast of MobLand on the red carpet Fans think this cliffhanger ending proves why the show must return - to find out whether he survives. Sharing various thoughts on how series two will play out, one said: "I saw a post about the ending being bad and Harry getting stabbed being a way for Tom Hardy to leave, but I feel like what followed after the stabbing was kind of a wink that nothing is going to happen to him. "Harry is definitely the cherry on top of the cake and the showrunners are not oblivious to that. "If the show has a season 2, Harry will be in there and he would've survived." Someone else added: "After enjoying the S1 finale, it appears we have our new antagonists to go up against Harry and Kevin: Kat and Eddie in series two. "Eddie is more f****d up than we thought! Choking your own mother to death is pretty heinous."

Love Island first look with major shake-up as four new bombshells rock the villa

ITV producers shocked viewers with a surprise recoupling on last night's Love Island - here's your first look at the fall out from the unexpected twist. Last night's episode of Love Island saw a game of spin the bottle cause even more tension in the villa, as the Islanders found themselves switching partners, left, right and centre as they faced a series of truths and dares. The true highlight of the game came when Megan and Conor admitted they had unfinished business, catching their current partners Tommy and Emily off guard and leaving the rest of the villa stunned by the revelation. ‌ The show ended with a dramatic cliffhanger, as a text came in revealing there would be a recoupling - this time with the girls holding the power. However, there are an even amount of girls and boys in the villa, which has cause many viewers to speculate what brutal twist ITV have in store for the Islanders. ‌ While we wait for the fall out from the recoupling, here is your sneak peek into tonight's episode of Love Island... The show begins as the girls give their recouping speeches, some decisions coming easily while some of the girls are left re-evaluating their connections. While a few couples remain solid, other seem ready to explore new connections. Following the recoupling, Conor and Emily head to the sundeck for a chat about where they stand. Conor admits: "I'm still confused as to what you want to do because you came to me and said you want to take a step back." Emily responds: 'I just wanna know where your head is at, I feel like your words say one thing and actions say another, you are my priority…I just want some reassurance.' Conor is still weighing out his options, as he tells her: "I'm still figuring out where my head is at I'm getting to know two people." ‌ Meanwhile, Helena is keen to tell Harry how she really feels, saying: "I know we said yesterday we'd be friends but I can't be your mate in here, you've not even apologised for anything that you've done…I can't make sense of the situation…" After apologising, Harry tells her: "I thought it was too good, I've done it in the past where I self-sabotage…I'm 30 years old I get it, I'm not making excuses…' ‌ Helena admits: 'It's done now, you can't go back on it…I can't really be around you right now'. Dejon then comforts Harry at the fire pit, revealing he hopes Harry and Helena can make it work, saying: "I'm gonna pray tonight and hope there's a miracle you two can get back together'. Harry gets emotional, before telling him: "There ain't no me and Helena…I've got to forget about it for now'. ‌ Is it time for Harry to focus on Shakira? The next day Megan adds another layer to the dynamic, interrupting Emily and Conor to pull him for a private chat on the sundeck. "Right, I need to ask how the f**k is things with Em, what the f**k is going on there?" she bluntly asks. ‌ Conor replies: "Obviously I'm buzzing that you're saying I would be someone you couple up with if you weren't in a couple now…Emily would be number one but as we speak a bit more, you're getting closer to the top." Megan doesn't hold back, revealing: "I do think you're more sexual than Tommy…you're very vocal about what you wanted…the fact you came and pulled me in front of Emily, that was ballsy." ‌ When Megan presses Conor on who he'd choose in a recoupling, his answer catches her off guard. Meanwhile, Emily and Tommy are having their own conversation. She opens up, saying: if he [Conor] wants me to like someone else so he can grab me back…that doesn't work for me , if you push me away I'm gone." Tommy is honest in return, telling her: "On boys night, when you walked in that feeling I got, physical attraction, I got that from you…" ‌ Emily agrees, saying: "100%, I'm open to having more chats and seeing if there could be something there…" Tommy later debriefs with Dejon and Harry. Dejon tells him: "He [Conor] should of had a conversation with you to let you know he wants to pursue things with Megan." ‌ Tommy admits: "Megan's my number one by quite a lot." Dejon encourages him, saying: "I feel like you owe it to yourself, cause of where you are to explore other options…if i had a daughter I would be buzzing if she was with someone like you." With Conor and Megan's chats continuing, looks like Tommy and Emily are exploring their own connection… ‌ Elsewhere, Harrison and Shakira chat on the daybeds, as she presses if his head is with Toni or Helena, saying: "My only concern is if you don't like Toni, I don't want you to lead her down the garden path, but I actually think you two get along." Harrison admits: "The thing with me, I'm so indecisive, I'll come away from a chat thinking Helena was the best chat…I have a chat with someone else and I'll be like ok she was the best chat." Shakira challenges him: "So what are you actually looking for?" ‌ Just as the drama couldn't get more intense, a shock text hits the villa. One Islander receives the news that a car is waiting outside - and four islanders must leave the Villa immediately. Unbeknown to the group, at a second villa four new bombshells - Caprice, Giorgio, Poppy and Will - have chosen their top Islanders and are stealing them away for the evening. Which Islanders are heading out and how will the villa react to the surprise twist?

‘Get her out' rant Love Island fans as they call for star to be kicked off show for ‘bullying'

LOVE Island fans were left fuming during last night's explosive episode - with many demanding one islander be booted from the villa after accusing her of 'bullying' behaviour. Viewers vent their frustration with some even calling on ITV bosses to step in after islander constantly "digs out other girls." 5 5 Helena Ford, 29 has been accused of brining "mean girl energy" and constantly "digging out" other girls in the sun-soaked villa. Viewers previously begged Helena to stop being a "doormat" and dump Harry, 30, for good after he finally admitted to snogging Yasmin, 24, in the Hideaway. His confession prompted the blonde beauty to storm off and call things off with Harry for good saying she's "done" being humiliated. Since then, Helena has failed to strike up a spark with any of the other boys in the villa. But she hasn't stayed out of the spotlight - instead, Helena's found herself caught up in the girls' drama. Sitting down with the newest boy Harrison, 22, to chat and flirt, Helena was talking about his other love interest, Toni, 24. Helena explained how she thought Toni was "marking her territory" with Harrison. She also said that it sometimes felt like Toni didn't like her talking to Harrison. Harrison was stunned and intrigued as Helena spoke about the American bombshell. Fans are flooding online forums with the same message: 'Get Helena out!' "I also think if she left it would break up the unholy bully alliance of Meg/Megan/Helena (and increasingly Emily)". Another added: "Helena is just a boy follower.
