Arrival rates at Marsa Alam Airport rise by 9 flights this week
CAIRO - 19 February 2025: Marsa Alam International Airport receives 13 international flights Wednesday, most of them European, out of 144 flights that the airport receives during the week starting from last Saturday until next Friday.
Numbers showed that arrival rates increased by 9 flights compared to last week, as the airport received 135 flights last week and this week it receives 144 international flights, most of them European.
The competent authorities inside the airport are facilitating procedures for incoming tourists, applying security and precautionary measures on them, then transferring them to the hotels where they will stay to enjoy their vacations on the Red Sea beaches.
According to the flight arrival schedules, the airport receives 13 flights Wednesday, including: 5 flights from German airports; 2 flights from Polish airports; 3 from the Czech Republic; 6 flights from Italy; an English flight; a Dutch flight; another from Italy, and a flight from Switzerland.
Starting from last Saturday and until next Friday, Marsa Alam International Airport is set to receive a total of 144 flights from 12 countries around the world, most of which are from: Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and a number of other different countries.

A statement from the White House read: 'The executive order imposes full restrictions on the entry of citizens from 12 countries proven to have deficiencies in their screening and vetting procedures, which poses a significant risk to the United States.' It clarified that 'the countries covered by this full ban are Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.' 7 high-risk nations The statement added that 'the executive order also imposes partial restrictions on the entry of citizens from 7 other countries deemed high-risk, namely: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.' The White House clarified that 'the decision includes exceptions for lawful permanent residents of the United States, current visa holders, certain special visa categories, and individuals whose entry is deemed necessary to serve U.S. national interests.' Combating terrorism The statement affirmed that these restrictions aim to 'enhance international cooperation in security, enforce U.S. immigration laws, and achieve foreign policy objectives, including combating terrorism.' 9 Injured as Plane Hits Turbulence in Germany
Israa Farhan Nine passengers were injured on a Ryanair flight bound for Milan after the aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in southern Germany late Wednesday night due to extreme turbulence caused by a thunderstorm, according to German police. The incident occurred when severe weather conditions prompted the pilot to divert and land at Memmingen Airport, located about 113 kilometers west of Munich, authorities in Bavaria confirmed in an official statement. NMDC and Etermar Successfully Complete the Construction of the First Caisson-Based Quays in the United Arab Emirates
Abu Dhabi and Setúbal, June 2025 – NMDC Group, a global EPC leader in the energy and marine & dredging sectors, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, and Etermar, a Portuguese marine engineering company and one of the few European companies specialised in the construction of floating concrete structures, have successfully completed the construction of 600 linear meters berth using caissons for the first time in the United Arab Emirates. The project was executed on an artificial offshore island in Abu Dhabi designed and built by NMDC, to berth some of the world's largest mega yachts (over 100 meters long). The casting and construction of the berth was completed in just five months, showcasing the efficiency of this sustainable engineering solution, which Etermar introduced in cooperation with NMDC at this Region. The collaboration between the two companies involved the design and construction of two quay walls composed of sixteen reinforced concrete caissons (300m + 300m) – built locally at Mina Zayed Port on a floating dock mobilised from Portugal by Etermar and towed to the project site by sea, where Etermar installed them. The project also included the detailed design of the capping beam, scour protection system and foundation trench. Approximately 190 workers of various nationalities contributed to this endeavour, about half Portuguese. Oliver Leclerc, Chief Operating Officer at NMDC Dredging & Marine, said: 'At NMDC Dredging & Marine we relish every available opportunity to contribute towards the growth and development of Abu Dhabi's infrastructure – and this project was no different. As the main contractor, NMDC carried out all required engineering and modelling studies (hydro dynamic, metocean, soil investigation, etc.) to assure the correct design and construction of the offshore island including dredging and reclamation, breakwater, revetment, beach profiling as well as quay wall with a focus on applying environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions, reflecting the company's strategy and UAE leadership directions and commitment. With the exponential growth of the renewable energy sector, Etermar is also firmly committed to developing reinforced concrete structures and is already applying its expertise in floating concrete structures to offshore energy projects. These infrastructures used both for floating platforms and artificial islands dedicated to renewable energy production (known as Energy Islands ), play a crucial role in supporting offshore wind turbines and other energy sector technologies.
