ABU DHABI (WAM)Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), has met with Malick Ndiaye, President of Senegal's National Assembly, at the FNC headquarters in Abu Dhabi to explore ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two nations.The discussions focused on boosting coordination, increasing mutual consultations, and enhancing bilateral relations through official visits and joint initiatives on issues of shared interest.The meeting was attended by several FNC members.During the meeting, Saqr Ghobash welcomed the Senegalese delegation, highlighting the historical and fraternal ties between the UAE and Senegal.He emphasised the strong and harmonious bilateral relations, which have been reflected in the mutual support for each country's candidacies at various regional and international forums.Both sides underlined the importance of advancing inter-parliamentary cooperation, aligning positions and perspectives on regional and global issues, and intensifying joint efforts across international parliamentary platforms. This would not only reflect but also reinforce the growing and robust relations between the UAE and Senegal, serving the interests of both nations and their peoples.Ndiaye emphasised the importance of the strong ties between the two friendly nations and their peoples, underscoring the need to enhance cooperation across various fields. He reaffirmed the strength and depth of the bilateral relationship between the UAE and Senegal.
The President of Senegal's National Assembly also expressed his appreciation for the UAE's constructive stances on international issues and commended its efforts in promoting global stability and peace.
