Former UFC champion Sean O'Malley explains why he stopped smoking weed
Former bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley never hid his marijuanas use. He'd regularly consumed while on air during his podcast on YouTube. The channel was sponsored by marijuana-relate products.
"Suga" decided to make lifestyle changes heading into this year after losing the championship to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306 last September. O'Malley no longer gets on social media and he no longer smokes marijuana. He explained why on his coach's YouTube channel.

"I do like it. I just lately haven't been," O'Malley said on his coach Tim Welch's podcast.
A rematch between Dvalishvili and O'Malley headlines the UFC 316 fight card on June 7 in Newark, New Jersey. The possibility of having to go 25 minutes with Dvalishvili again motivated O'Malley's decision. He wants to be in peak condition when he walks out at the Prudential Center.

"Just keep the lungs opened up ready to f*cking go 25 minutes. I didn't like the way it was making me feel after awhile," O'Malley revealed. "I gave me like this paranoia feeling. I just kind of wasn't enjoying it. I feel like I was was doing it because I was almost like addicted. I just wanted take a rip instead of taking it and being like fully enjoying it. But I've been enjoying not smoking."
Following the UFC 306 championship loss to Dvalishvili, O'Malley underwent hip surgery. The rematch with Dvalishvili on June 7 will be his first fight since losing the title. While O'Malley watched from the sidelines, Dvalishvili successfully defended the title at UFC 311 in January, defeating the Umar Nurmagomedov via unanimous decision.

Another woman, who was also 16 when she met Leto, described receiving increasingly sexual and inappropriate late-night phone calls from the actor over several weeks. She told Air Mail that the calls would always come 'at 1, 2, 3 a.m., and the conversations turned sexual. He'd ask things like, 'Have you ever had a boyfriend? Have you ever sucked a dick?'' The young woman, who was in rehab at the time, said the calls terrified her. 'He changed—his voice, the way he talked. It scared me,' she told Air Mail. 'That was the first time I thought, 'Oh my God, that's not just in movies.'' Other women described similarly chilling behavior from Leto, with one woman telling Air Mail, 'He'd be sweet, then suddenly really demeaning. It was a switch.' Another told the outlet about hooking up with Leto at an 18-and-older nightclub when she was 20, which eventually resulted in her visiting his home several times. She was disturbed by her experiences, however, telling Air Mail, 'He was weird. Look, I know some people are kinky, and that's fine. But his kind of kink—it just didn't feel right.' An actress who started texting Leto when she was underage echoed this sentiment, telling Air Mail how visits to his home would quickly become uncomfortable after he would ask her questions such as, 'Do any of the little boys you hang out with fuck you?' Once she turned 18, he became more sexually aggressive, and on one occasion, 'he suddenly pulled his penis out and started masturbating. Then he walked over, grabbed my hand, and put it on him. He leaned in and said, 'I want you to spit on it.'' The report also details parties organized at Leto's home in the 2000s by entrepreneur Brent Bolthouse that required headshots of potential attendees be provided beforehand so that they could be vetted, with Leto requiring 'cute girls only' attend. Rumors have dogged the actor for years; the Daily Beast reported on them following his performance in 2021's House of Gucci. In 2012, LA-based music producer Allie Teilz posted a Facebook status that read, 'Youre [sic] not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… In a kilt.. And a snow hat.' Last month, she reposted that status to her Instagram story and added, 'I was assaulted and traumatized by this creep when I was 17. He knew my age and didn't care. What he did was predatory, terrifying and unacceptable.' Teilz's posts triggered an overwhelming number of responses from women with similar stories, prompting her to share more than 50 of those stories. Teilz's allegations, Leto's representative stated, are 'demonstrably false.' In fact, Leto's representative told Air Mail, 'All of the allegations are expressly denied.'

Ironman triathlon to bring thousands of athletes to Springfield area The Springfield Police Department and Town of West Springfield have announced several road closures in preparation for Sunday's event, expected to host elite athletes and enthusiastic spectators. The triathlon begins with a 1.2-mile downriver swim in the Connecticut River, followed by a 56-mile bike ride starting at Riverfront Park and winding through scenic New England countryside. The final leg is a 13.1-mile run, newly rerouted this year to pass through Springfield's Forest Park, before finishing in downtown. Coco Gauff used words and a mirror to persuade herself she could win the French Open
PARIS (AP) — A little bit of self-persuasion went a very long way for Coco Gauff, whose victory at the French Open gave the 21-year-old American a trophy she has long coveted, and a second major title. Gauff defeated top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-4 on Saturday to add to her U.S. Open title two years ago. Sabalenka had been the more in-form player heading into the final and Gauff felt she needed some extra motivation. So she drew inspiration from Gabby Thomas, who became the women's Olympic 200-meter champion at last year's Paris Olympics. Thomas had kept writing down that she would be the Olympic champion in her Notes app, so Gauff tried adopting the same approach and grabbed a piece of paper. 'I wrote, 'I will be French Open champion 2025' like a bunch of times," Gauff explained. 'She (Thomas) wrote 'I will be the Olympic champion' and she ended up winning the gold. I think it's a great mindset that she had." Eight lines on a piece of paper written by Gauff late on a Friday night, then it was finally time for bed, time to rest. Not quite. Gauff then persuaded herself a little bit more, by staring at the mirror and convincing herself she was looking at the face of a soon-to-be French Open champion. 'Looking at myself in the mirror so I was trying to instil that belief, and obviously it happened. I didn't know if it was going to work or not. (But) it did," Gauff said, then laughed as she added: 'When you're desperate, you're just trying anything to think that it's going to help you win.' Gauff also posted on Instagram another message she wrote to herself four years ago, which started with the words 'I had a dream last night that I will win (the) French Open.' Job done. What also stood out during the 2 hours and 38 minutes on Court Philippe-Chatrier on Saturday — in a gritty final punctuated by swirling winds due to the open roof — was how Gauff stayed calm while Sabalenka imploded and continually remonstrated with herself. All the screams and shouts were coming from Sabalenka's side of the net, while there was an almost quiet, steely focus on Gauff's side. That's largely because, these days, Gauff gets her frustrations out before matches. 'I know how important it is for me to let out those emotions so that when I come on the match court I can try and be as calm as possible," the No. 2-ranked Gauff said. 'I'm more cool-headed in matches. But in practice I can get pretty upset. Just let me be upset. If I'm upset, I'd rather be upset on the practice court than the match." Gauff will now switch to the grass-court season and may play in Berlin, Germany in a week's time before heading to London for Wimbledon, which starts on May 30. When she gets to London, Gauff will indulge in one of her favorite hobbies: trying to get out of Escape Rooms. 'For sure, I love it, and I'm going to definitely do it,' she said. And how about Sabalenka? How will she be coping with the defeat and the frustrations she so clearly felt? Will she be analyzing footage of the match over and over again, trying to understand where she went wrong and what she must do better? Far from it. She's off to indulge herself in Greece. 'I already have a flight booked to Mykonos and alcohol, sugar. I just need couple of days to completely forget about this crazy world,' Sabalenka said.
