Tragedy as twin brothers die a month before their high school graduation

Daily Mail24-04-2025

A pair of high school twin brothers who were supposed to graduate in a month have tragically died during a fishing trip.
The Neshoba County Sheriff's office was called to Lake Pushmataha on Thursday evening in Mississippi to investigate reports of a drowning involving the 18-year-olds.
They located the twins, Camarion and Jamarion Grady, who had been under the water for quite a long time, Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said, according to Vicksburg News.
Jamarion died at the scene while Camarion was rushed to University of Mississippi Medical Center in critical condition after he 'jumped in' to save his sibling, a GoFundMe page said.
Sadly, on April 20, Camarion died. The circumstances surrounding the fatal incident remain unclear, but according to family members it was an 'accidental drowning.'
The brothers, who 'were known for their vibrant spirits and dreams', were set to graduate from Philadelphia High School in May.
Jamarion, who also went by 'Frog,' had dreams of becoming a real estate agent while Camarion aspired to be a barber, another donation page said.
They leave behind their mother Rasheedah Blacks, their father Rodney McClendon Jr., and their five other siblings.
A day after the incident, Blacks took to Facebook to ask her friends and family to pray for Camarion, also known as 'Fatty', while he was in the hospital.
'Morning….Yawl please pray for my baby please Lord I need him….that's my baby…always the life of the party never met a stranger always making someone smile… if yawl don't do ANYTHING ELSE TODAY…. Pray for my fatty,' she wrote alongside pictures and videos of her beloved son.
Days later, she shared images of her sons as babies, announcing Camarion's death.
'These are not just my babies they are OUR BABIES…. These two were a perfect match and my heart knew that one was not going w/o the other,' Blacks said.
On Sunday, Philadelphia Public Schools confirmed the brothers' sudden deaths.
'The PPSD community has experienced tremendous losses this weekend and our hearts are with all those affected. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from our community members and schools during this difficult time,' the district said, adding that grief counselors would be available for those who need them.
The district also asked the community to wear red and black in honor of Camarion and Jamarion on Wednesday.
Several people posted images of themselves and others in the community wearing the colors to Facebook.
Their funeral is set for Saturday, followed by a burial service, according to their obituaries
Their sister Danajah Williams posted images and videos of the twins during their high school football senior night in honor of them.
'This was some exciting twins this night (October 31,2024- senior night) I'm so thankful I was able to b there to watch them and see their smiling face when they called their name telling about them. We sure are gone miss them so much,' Williams said.
The school district later sent out individual letters about each brother, as they wrote: 'Though Camarion and Jamarion were twins, they were their own people — each remarkable in their own right.
'Camarion was the louder voice, the bigger laugh, the one always dancing, always talking, always reaching out to lift someone up.'
Their funeral is set for Saturday, followed by a burial service, according to their obituaries.

The two unnamed male victims were rushed to the hospital following the stabbing at Dupont Circle Park during the LGBTQ+ celebrations yesterday evening. People were evacuated from the park by police at around 7.30pm as an investigation into the attack was opened. Later in the evening, another man was shot near the park on 19th Street NW. He remains conscious, and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The incidents came as authorities had originally called for the park to be closed during the parade from Friday until Sunday. An eight-foot-high high had been erected around the public space on Thursday night in preparation for the event. But the decision was overridden by the city government, which ordered the facility to remain open for the weekend. Everything we know as body found near UK airport in car 'abandoned for months'

A dead body was found in the back seat of a car parked near Gatwick Airport on Friday - locals claimed the car had been abandoned for months and was covered in dust A dead body has shockingly been discovered in the back seat of a car parked close to Gatwick Airport. The white BMW had reportedly been parked just a mile away from the major airport for months, but the corpse was only discovered on Friday. Ticket inspectors were also believed to have been in the area and slapped notices on the vehicle but failed to see the dead body inside the car. Forensic officers were spotted at the scene along with police as an investigation to establish how the person died and how their lifeless body was missed has been launched. ‌ ‌ How was the body found? The car was noticed after locals sent Crawley Borough Council multiple complaints to report a parking violation. The local council issued a warning notice on May 19 and detailed how the car was "untaxed", even slapping a note on the car that threatened it would be towed unless moved in a week. Despite this, the car is taxed until January 1, 2026, according to the government's vehicle tax site, and has a valid MOT until November 25. It is understood the alarm was raised by a recovery vehicle driver who went to take the car away. They called police to report a possible dead body inside the vehicle. How did the recovery vehicle driver spot the body? A person in a local Facebook group described the moment the recovery vehicle driver found the dead body. They claimed the driver "saw a man on the back seats, with a blanket over the front two seats to build a 'barrier' across as he was lying on the backseat - most likely was sleeping in the back". Another person added: "A recovery driver came this morning and smashed the back window to take the motor. As he did that he noticed the dead body on the back seats." Where was the dead body found? The vehicle was parked around a mile away from Gatwick Airport. It had been left at an industrial estate on Whittle Way in Crawley, around 2.3 miles away from Junction 10 of the M23. ‌ This road is home to several businesses and close to Parcelforce Worldwide's airport depot. How long has the body been there? It is unclear exactly how long the dead body had been left in the car - which was covered in dust. Some locals claimed the vehicle had been parked in the same spot since October last year. ‌ Other residents in a Facebook group shared how long they had seen the vehicle parked for. One person said: "I reported it about four months ago but the council only put stickers on it - but it has been there for eight months now." How did the person die? The circumstances around the tragic death have not been made public. It is unclear how the person died but Sussex Police confirmed the death is not currently being treated as suspicious. What have the police said? Police revealed an investigation into the shock discovery has been launched. A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Police were called to Whittle Way in Northgate, Crawley, at around 10.30am on Friday, 6 June, to reports of a body found in a vehicle. "Enquiries are ongoing to identify the individual and establish the full circumstances of the situation."

Hannah Bennett was on holiday with her two sons when she was told the devastating news that she longer had a place to come home to after her flat in Cables Wynd House, Leith, had been involved in a fire. No one was injured in the blaze, which broke out shortly before 11pm on Friday, June 6, but the flames engulfed two flats and left several others badly damaged. Police Scotland said they evacuated residents as a precaution and all but two households had been able to return to their homes. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad A fundraiser has now been launched to help Hannah's family rebuild their lives following the fire. Sheri Ulich, a fellow resident in the building, has set up a GoFundMe page and is asking members of the public to 'please give what you can'. More than £1,000 has been raised in the 20 hours since the page was set up, and Sheri has set a target of raising £3,000 for the young family. The blaze completely destroyed one home and left the family next door - including two young children - with nothing. 'Their home is now uninhabitable and they'll be displaced for at least six months. This wasn't their fault. Yet they've lost everything: clothes, toys, furniture, essentials - even a sense of safety. While official assistance drag on, we can step in as neighbours, as a community, and show that we care. Please give what you can. 'Every donation helps bring comfort and stability to a family who's been through the unimaginable. And if you can't donate, please share this page to spread the word.' Hannah Bennett's flat has been gutted in the fire and a fundraiser has now been launched | Hannah Bennett It comes after residents rallied around those affected by the fire in the hours after it was extinguished by nine fire crews. Kirsty Chatwood, who has lived in Cables Wynd House for 23 years, told the Evening News that a group of residents had already offered to do loads of laundry for people whose flats were filled with smoke, and others are helping to scrub the walls and clean up any smoke or water damage. I personally feel very blessed that I've got these amazing neighbours in my city who, when something awful happens, always step up to help.'
