Advertisement Clark returned to action after missing five games and nearly three weeks with a left quad strain. Ionescu was solid as well in New York's first loss of the season, recording a game-high 34 points on 11-of-20 shooting, two rebounds and four assists. New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu and Indiana Fever guard Caitlin ClarkTrevor Ruszkowski-Imagn Images After the loss, Ionescu joined her coach, Sandy Brondello, and fellow New York All-Star Breanna Stewart for a postgame press conference. The former Oregon Ducks guard had nothing but praise for Clark. Advertisement "Basketball's a game of runs," Ionescu said. "The same way we go on runs, they do as well. They're a great team. I think we gave (Clark) too many easy ones. She has great range… On a personal level, I'm happy to see her out there on the court & feeling good." Ionescu and Clark have now gone head-to-head six times since the Fever guard joined the WNBA in the 2024 draft. But the Liberty have won four of those contests, while Indiana has taken two. Angel Reese Turns Heads With Unexpected Career Decision Amid Chicago Sky Season
Angel Reese Turns Heads With Unexpected Career Decision Amid Chicago Sky Season originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is coming off arguably her best game of the 2025 WNBA season, recording her first career triple-double with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists in Sunday's 78-66 win over the Connecticut Sun. Advertisement But Reese may have had some extra motivation heading into the game. In the days prior, critics began using the term "mebounds" to mock her shooting struggles (35.7%) and high rebounding average (11.9 per game). "Whoever came up with the 'mebounds' thing, y'all ate that up," Reese said in response. "Because rebounds, mebounds, crebounds, keybounds, tebounds… Anything that comes off that board, it's mine." It turns out Reese has embraced the online trolling. According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, as of June 14, Angel Reese LLC filed a trademark for the term "mebounds," which she may plan to use for selling t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats. WNBA fans loved Reese's new trademark decision, taking to social media to leave their thoughts. Advertisement "THAT'S how you take advantage of the negative and turn it into a bag. Well done Ms. Reese. Well done," one fan said. "She so tuff for that," added another. "And we can't wait to buy it up!!!" wrote a third. "Boss moves," commented a fourth. "Another bag for Barbie," posted a fifth. "I will be the first person wearing Mebounds merch," claimed a sixth. Chicago Sky star Angel Reese (5).Dale Zanine-Imagn Images Although the Sky have struggled to start their first season under coach Tyler Marsh, Reese is still playing at a high level. The former LSU Tigers star is averaging 10.4 points and a league-leading 11.9 rebounds. Reese and the Sky will look to make it two straight wins in their next game on Tuesday, facing Sonia Citron and the Washington Mystics.
