SHOCKING new photos of the Hudson River helicopter crash shows the horrifying moment everything went wrong.
Images of the crash that killed six people during a helicopter tour of New York have been released in a preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board.

The horrific crash happened on April 10 at 3:17 pm, when a helicopter fell into the Hudson River by Lower Manhattan in New York City.
The crash is believed to have been caused by a mechanical failure with the rotor system, which forced the helicopter to break apart.
The harrowing images show the devastating sequence of how the helicopter broke up.
First, the helicopter's tail breaks away from the fuselage and rotor blades before both blades separate from the fuselage.

The final image shows the fuselage nose-diving into the river.
According to the report, the aircraft was not equipped with any photo or audio devices, which would give investigators a better understanding of what happened.
However, the pilot was reportedly wearing a pair of sunglasses that had video and audio recording capability.
Unfortunately, those sunglasses were not recovered.

Calls for new public holiday in honour of St Colmcille
Donegal County Council is set to ask the Government to establish a new public holiday in honour of Saint Colmcille - also known as St Columba - the only Irish patron saint without a public holiday. Councillor Jimmy Kavanagh, whose motion calling for the public holiday was accepted at the council's latest meeting told RTÉ News there are two elements to the proposal. "Ireland is two days behind the European average of 12 public holidays per year. "St Colmcille is Ireland's third patron saint along with St Patrick and St Brigid, but he isn't recognised with a public holiday. We're looking to even that up," he said. Today marks St Colmcille feast day. Cllr Kavanagh has suggested two options as there is already a bank holiday in June. "The June Bank Holiday could be renamed in honour of St Colmcille (Columba), but that wouldn't solve the problem of Ireland having less public holidays than the rest of Europe. "Alternatively, we could go for a new public holiday on the first Monday in July. We don't have a public holiday in July in the Republic of Ireland," he said. Cllr Kavanagh added: "St Colmcille's story is a great story. I think it would be an excellent bank holiday. We're hoping the Government will look at the proposal in a positive way." He also said there would be all-Ireland, cross-border and international dimensions to any recognition, given St Colmcille's story. It is believed that St Colmcille was born in Gartán, Co Donegal in 521AD and established over 50 Christian sites throughout Ireland. In the English language, Colmcille translates as 'Dove of the Church'. He is regarded as one the three patrons saint of Ireland alongside St Patrick and St Brigid. There are many sites in the north west and in the eastern region associated with St Colmcille including Gleann Cholm Cille, Toraigh, Kells and Swords. The influential Irish monk is known the patron saint of Derry - as Gaeilge - Doire Cholmcille, meaning 'oakwood of Colmcille'. He was a significant historical figure in the spreading of Christianity in Britain. One of his most important monasteries was in Iona, off the coast of Scotland. Much history was written and recorded in his monasteries. One of Ireland's most famous books, the Book of Kells, written in Latin is believed to have been crafted by monks in the Columban monastery on Iona. Colmcille died in Iona on 9 June, 597. His legacy, as well as devotion to the saint, has endured to modern times. Many schools, churches and GAA clubs nationwide are named in his honour. Ireland has ten public holidays per year, and St Brigid's Day was the most recent addition to the list in 2023. The legislation which provides for public holidays is the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 (OWTA). The OWTA Act is under the policy remit of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and the power to introduce an additional public holiday is provided for within this legislation.

The fundraising event was attended by more than 1,000 parents, pupils and friends last Saturday. The school's statement reads: "It is with great gratitude that we are happy to share the very good news with you. "The two children who sustained injuries during the fracture accident at the Protea festival on Saturday were discharged from hospital on 31/5 and 3/6 respectively. "The necessary trauma-counselling was given to both children, as well as to their co-learners, who experienced the event and thank you all for standing together. "We thank you very much for everyone's positive support, help and prayers." The school, which has 620 pupils aged 6 to 13, previously hit headlines in 2017 when a tornado blew off its roof and destroyed its buildings. An eyewitness of the bouncy castle "I was watching from a food stall with my girls when I heard screaming and turned around and just saw this blue, green and red thing shooting up to the heavens. "Then there was a huge scream when first one child and then another fell out but of all the places they could have landed it was right over a group of parents below. "They reached up their arms to try to catch the falling children and undoubtedly saved their lives or saved them from much worse injuries by cushioning them. "It was not a very windy day but it seemed this huge gust just came from nowhere and it was said the bouncy castle had not been secured to the ground." It is unclear from the footage if the bouncy castle had been securely tethered ahead of the incident. Melissa Vere Russel of ABC Jumping Castles, which was not the company used, said: "In high gusts a bouncy castle can act like a parachute and the wind can carry it away. "All castles are manufactured with mechanisms to secure them to the ground and failing to anchor them properly could end in disaster and could be fatal." It comes after an Australian bouncy castle operator was found not guilty of failing to comply with safety laws after the tragic death of six children in Tasmania when strong winds blew an inflatable into the air. The horror incident happened in 2021 when a bouncy castle was blown three feet into the air and landed in a tree 160 feet away. Six children died and three others were seriously injured. But owner of operator Taz-Zorb Rosemary Gamble was cleared of breaching work safety laws after the tragedy was ruled to be "due to an unprecedented weather system that was impossible to predict and avoid". Angry parents reportedly shouted at the bouncy castle owner after the verdict. Gamble's lawyer read a statement on her behalf, saying: "I never meant for something like this to happen. And I am just so sorry that it did. "I am a mother. I can only imagine the pain that other parents are living with each and every day because of this terrible thing that happened. Cunha takes advantage of this with sharp movements to outplay defenders and create shooting opportunities. 10 Here we see Cunha positioned outside of the box before he then takes a clever touch and bends the ball into the goa We believe Cunha would be able to play in a similar kind of role to Fernandes as both are extremely intelligent in the attacking phase of the game. This would mean, however, that Man Utd would still need to add a new forward to play ahead of him, assuming they decide This could be an issue solved in the near future with the signing of The type of runs Mbeumo makes would be perfect to stretch the length of the pitch and offer passing options or decoys for Cunha to benefit from. Indeed, the runs Mbeumo makes are extremely close to those of Mohamed Salah at Liverpool and could benefit both Cunha and Fernandes greatly. With Fernandes being more comfortable as a passer and creator from deeper areas, we should see Cunha acting as the link between the 10 Here Cunha is smart enough to check his run behind the back-pedalling defence before he gets the ball and is able to finish Given Fernandes is well known as one of the most aggressive and creative passers in the league he will enjoy having a player like Cunha alongside him to find space in tight areas. While Cunha is not an out and out striker, his movement and intelligence of positioning around the area will create real threat. Not just a finisher Cunha impressed in front of goal last season as he finished with 15 league goals, while he was also able to provide a creative threat for his team But Cunha has long been seen as more of a creative attacker than a true goalscorer, such as when he was at Hertha Berlin or Atletico Madrid . The same is true in deeper positions, especially in transition, when Cunha was capable of getting on the ball and play the final line breaking ball to release team-mates. He was extremely versatile with his positioning as he occupied pockets across the width of the penalty area. 10 Here Cunha has the ball in the left channel, drives at goal and then has the quality to slip the ball to a team-mate making a run beyond him In terms of his on pitch relationship with Fernandes, it will be interesting to see how Cunha interacts with him given their respective preferred creative operating areas. The 30-year-old is less of a runner and more of a passer which could create disconnects with Cunha due to a lack of vertical runners around him. With that said, the two should be able to connect deeper with Cunha being the player to make the more aggressive vertical run off the back of that connection. The issue Man Utd may have is they will essentially have two advanced midfielders without an effective focal point striker to play off of and make the ball stick. 10 Here Cunha has the ball wide and has the quality to pick out the deep run from his team-mate It is all very well for Amorim to add creativity and dangerous passing to their attacking unit. But they need to ensure that they have the players ahead of the ball that can make the runs to take advantage of those passes. Decision making and intelligence Cunha is a player who can become decisive for the Red Devils both in scoring goals and creating chances, and that is down to his supreme intelligence and strong decision making. This is what makes him such a versatile attacker, and it would therefore be somewhat wasteful to play him as the main striker. He is far better when allowed to play deeper and underneath a more physical and aggressive striker. 10 Cunha's intelligent movement off the back of the opposition midfield gives a team-mate a passing options before another striker pins an opposition defender Essentially, Man Utd should be looking to use a striker who can threaten space behind the defensive line. This should force the opposition defensive line deeper and then we would see Cunha, and Bruno , with more space that they could play in underneath the striker. The ability of a player to consistently make correct choices in terms of the timing and direction of his runs is something that is hugely underlooked. 10 Here he drops off the highest line to come back in and occupy a pocket of space between defenders Especially given the pace of the modern game and the intensity of the Premier League. The fact, Cunha always seems to give team-mates what they need at the right time will be hugely beneficial to Man Utd in terms of helping them to unlock opposition teams. Conclusion In our opinion signing a player like Cunha off the back of a terrible season will be a real boost for the Red Devils and their fans. What is critical though, is Cunha is then surrounded with more signings in key areas to give him the support to make the most of his attacking and creative abilities. Given It will still be a long summer ahead for Man Utd's recruitment team. 10
