Pawan Kalyan applauds classroom to farm concept
Vizianagaram: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan visited 'Badi nunchi Polam badi' stall at the Biodiversity Conference organised by Forest and Environment department in Vijayawada. The stall, set up by Jattu Trust of Parvathipuram Manyam district showcased their innovative educational concept being implemented in Manyam district, which impressed the Deputy CM.
Expressing his appreciation, he invited the Trust to his office for further discussion on expanding the initiative.
The concept, part of 'Mana Badi, Mana Thota' programme, is being executed in 200 schools. It integrates nature farming into school curriculum, where children play, sing, and learn by growing vegetables, fruits, and flowers in school gardens. Special books on natural farming have also been published to raise awareness among students.
Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan expressed delight upon learning how this hands-on initiative is cultivating environmental awareness and agricultural interest in young minds.
Jattu Trust Deputy CEO M Nukam Naidu and Development Manager D Navajeevan briefed him on the programme's vision and impact.

Ram Darbar darshan for devotees likely in 10-15 days, says Misra
Devotees eager to visit the recently unveiled Ram Darbar on the first floor of the Ram temple in Ayodhya may soon have their wish granted. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is planning to allow darshan of the Ram Darbar within the next 10 to 15 days. However, due to security concerns, the Trust will issue only a limited number of passes daily. According to Nripendra Misra, chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee, the Trust will take a decision on the issue soon. 'Devotees are likely to be allowed to visit Ram Darbar in the next 10 days,' Misra said in Ayodhya. He added that the Trust has held detailed discussions with representatives from the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI, Roorkee) regarding the arrangements for the darshan. Ram Darbar consists of the idols of Lord Ram and Mata Sita seated on a throne with Hanuman and Bharat depicted in a prayerful posture at their feet and Lakshman and Shatrughan standing beside them. The Ram Mandir Construction Committee has tasked CBRI, Roorkee, with conducting monthly reviews of the temple's ongoing construction work. 'The Trust is making comprehensive arrangements for the darshan, ensuring that devotees can have a smooth and fulfilling experience,' Misra added. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Darbar on June 5. However, devotees have not yet been permitted to visit the Ram Darbar yet due to security concerns. 'Construction work of the Ram Mandir is almost complete with Ram Lalla installed on the ground floor and his family on the first floor. The second floor will house rare and significant scriptures related to Lord Ram,' said Trust general secretary Champat Rai on Saturday. Jaipur-based sculptor Satya Narain Pandey and his team have crafted the Ram Darbar made of white makrana marble. 'The sculpting of the Ram Darbar took approximately three months. During this phase, artisans performed daily prayers and rituals,' Pandey said. Govt institutions' key role in construction: The construction of the Ram Mandir was a collaborative effort with support and expertise from various government institutions. IIT and CBRI: These institutions provided invaluable technical expertise and support to the project. Railway ministry: The ministry of railways played a role in the construction. Archaeological Survey of India (ASI): An ASI team is currently conducting a survey of the area where Ram Lalla was previously housed in a tent. Defence ministry: An organisation under the ministry of defence is working on the titanium lattice, a crucial component for the temple. The trust is making payments to all the institutions involved. Pushkarni and Panchavati The Ram Temple complex will encompass several notable features, including: Pushkarni: A sacred water tank, centrally located within the Saptarishi (seven sages) area. Panchavati: A natural area that will be preserved in its original state, allowing animals and birds to benefit from the surroundings.

Andhra launches plantation drive to boost green cover to 50% by 2047
The Andhra Pradesh government launched a large-scale greening campaign on Thursday to mark World Environment Day, with the objective of increasing the state's green cover from the current 30.05 per cent to 50 per cent by 2047. The initiative, part of the Vana Mahotsav (forest festival) and End Plastic Pollution drive, involves planting 10 million saplings across the state. Currently, the green cover includes 22.96 per cent recorded forest area and 7.09 per cent trees outside forests. Officials aim to add over 32,000 square kilometres of green area to meet the 2047 target. CM, deputy CM launch campaign Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan launched the campaign at the state level, with concurrent events held at district and constituency levels. Target: 55.8 million saplings in 2025 The state plans to plant 55.8 million saplings in 2025, covering 180,000 hectares. The goal is to achieve 37 per cent green cover by 2029, with an annual increase of 1.5 per cent. Progress will be monitored through geo-tagging, drone surveillance, satellite imagery, and audit-based scoring. Real-time dashboards will track developments and encourage public participation. Mission Haritha Andhra Pradesh to oversee campaign District Collectors will coordinate the drive with support from senior IAS and IFS officers. Nodal officers will oversee the campaign under the Mission Haritha Andhra Pradesh initiative. Between 2025 and 2030, over 987,000 hectares will be covered through plantations led by the Forest and Horticulture departments, with support from other line departments and local bodies.

CM Naidu urged public representatives and officials to join in the initiative to plant one crore saplings, emphasizing the need for collective action towards environmental conservation. On this occasion, all attendees took an oath to commit themselves to protecting the environment.
