3-Day Morning Power Outage in Seminary Hills
Nagpur: Residents of Seminary Hills area will face power outage over three consecutive mornings from Monday, as the
Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited
(MSEDCL) undertakes critical pre-monsoon maintenance, repair works, and transformer charging activities.
The power cuts are planned from Monday, June 16, to Wednesday, June 18, during morning hours, and will affect different areas each day. According to MSEDCL, the work is part of essential upkeep under the Civil Lines Division, aimed at ensuring uninterrupted and quality power supply during the upcoming monsoon season.
On Monday, electricity will be interrupted from 8am to 12 noon in localities including Pashu Vaidyakiya Chowk, Gajanan Society, Surendra Gad, Manav Seva, LAD Square, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Futala, and Malabar Colony.
On Tuesday, the outage will occur from 8am to 11am affecting Gaurkhede Complex, Hingoli Bika Society, Friends Colony, Phale Layout, Kolbaswami Society, and Netaji Society.
On the final day, Wednesday, from 8am to 11am, outage will impact Aakar Nagar, Swami Colony Phase 1 and 2, Jagdish Nagar, Prerna Nagar, Ganga Nagar, KGN Society, Welcome Society, Akhil Vishva Bharati Society, Virchakra Colony, Vighnaharta Colony, MB Estate, Hind Prerna Nagar, Raksha Nagar, and Vidya Nagar.

Pune: The Mane family's joy of shifting to a new home in Pimpri Chinchwad about a month back was cut short when the Sunday's bridge collapse in Kund Mala claimed the lives of 32-year-old Rohit Mane and his six-year-old son Vihan. IT professional Rohit, originally from Kolhapur, called Pimpri Chinchwad home for seven years and shifted to his dream home at Nakshatram Housing Society with his wife, Shamika, and son last month. "He was very happy as he entered the new house," Amit Bhoite, a close family friend, recalled. When the 30-year-old bridge collapsed under the weight of a huge crowd, Rohit and Vihan were trapped under the debris. After hours of rescue efforts, their bodies were finally recovered around 7pm. Shamika, who suffered severe leg injuries, is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Nikhil Kadam, Rohit's brother-in-law, said, "We rushed to the site after receiving a call in the evening. 1 2 Mohali: Known more for its traffic snarls and waterlogging than anything else, the stretch beneath the Zirakpur flyover is finally set to undergo a long-awaited beautification. After years of false starts and abandoned plans, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has roped in an NGO to execute the project. Mohali deputy commissioner Komal Mittal confirmed the development, saying, "The project had lingered for years, but it is now in progress. The pillars will be painted with environmental and community-centric themes, and plantation will be undertaken to improve aesthetics and reduce encroachments." The beautification idea was first floated in 2018 by then DC Gurpreet Kaur Sapra. A special purpose vehicle (SPV) was formed in 2019, and by 2020, NHAI had even issued an expression of interest with a budget of Rs 2 crore. But like many urban dreams, it was shelved due to funding issues. In the vacuum left by inaction, the space beneath the flyover turned into an informal settlement. I swerved to avoid them and ended up hitting another vehicle. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it could've been much worse."
