
Padmavati Parinayotsavam from May 6 to 8
Tirumala: The three-day annual festival of Sri Padmavati Parinayotsavam will be celebrated in Tirumala from May 6 to 8. The celestial wedding of Sridevi Bhudevi sameta Sri Srinivasa (Malayappa) is being performed with great pomp at Parinayotsava Mandapam in Narayangiri Gardens in Tirumala every year.
In this three-day event, Sri Malayappa Swamy will be worshipped on Gajavahanam on the first day, Aswa Vahanam on second day, and Garuda Vahanam on last day.
TTD has cancelled Arjita Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara sevas on these three days. TTD organises Padmavati Parinayotsavam for three days, one day before and one day after every Vaisakha Shuddha Dashami Tithi to mark the auspicious occasion. This festival has been in vogue since 1992 marking the significance of the celestial Sri Padmavati Parinayotsavam.

Govindaraja Swamy rides atop a lion in Tirupati
Lord Govindaraja took out a majestic ride on a lion in the morning and was paraded on a pearl-studded canopy in the evening, here on Wednesday, as part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams. On the third day of the nine-day annual festival, the processional idol was mounted on 'Simha Vahanam', a celestial carrier resembling a lion and carried on the four streets encircling the temple. The cultural troupes displayed colourful dance concerts and performed skits from various mythological episodes. Some artistes portrayed the role of 'Narasimha', the half-lion half-human incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In the evening, the idol was seated on 'Muthyapu Pandiri Vahanam', a pearl-studded canopy, and carried around the temple. Tirumala Tirupati senior and junior pontiffs Pedda Jeeyangar Swamy and Chinna Jeeyangar Swamy, TTD's Deputy Executive Officer V. Shanti and Assistant Executive Officer Munikrishna Reddy led the procession.

TTD EO unveils poster for Sri Govindaraja Swamy Brahmotsavams
Tirupati: In preparation for the upcoming annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple in Tirupati, TTD Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao unveiled the event poster on Tuesday at his chamber in the TTD administrative building. The Brahmotsavams are scheduled to take place from June 2 to June 10, 2025. During the poster release, the EO directed officials to make elaborate arrangements, keeping in mind the summer conditions and the comfort of visiting devotees. He emphasized the need for setting up shade pandals, whitewashing temple premises, designing attractive rangolis, and enhancing the festive ambiance with electric and floral decorations and artistic paintings. The EO also instructed those advance arrangements be made for the smooth conduct of daily Vahana Sevas, to be held from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Preparatory rituals begin with Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam on May 29, followed by Ankurarpanam on June 1 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The Brahmotsavams officially commence on June 2 with Dwajarohanam during Mithuna Lagnam between 7:02 AM and 7:20 AM, followed by a grand procession on Pedda Sesha Vahanam that evening. Each day features unique Vahana Sevas, including Chinna Sesha, Hamsa, Simha, Muthyapu Pandiri, Kalpavriksha, Sarvabhouma, Mohini Avataram, Garuda, Hanumantha, Gaja, Suryaprabha, Chandraprabha, Rathotsavam, Ashwa, and concludes with Chakrasnanam and Dwajavarohanam on June 10.
