Swimming safety advice
Experts have revealed some of their top advice for both adults and kids heading to the water this summer:
How to stay safe at the beach
Gareth Morrison, Head of Water Safety at the RNLI said: "If you find yourself being swept out to sea in a rip, try to relax and float until you are free from the rip and you can then swim to safety.
"If you see someone else in danger, alert a lifeguard or call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard."
How to stay safe at the swimming pool
Tiny Hearts Education, former paramedic and CEO Nikki Jurcutz said: "Always put your little one in bright or contrasting colours that would be easy to find in an emergency.
"It only takes 20 seconds to drown, little tips like this could save a life".
An Auqabliss spokesperson added: 'Swimming toys such as noodles, dive rings, floaties and beach balls can be dangerous if left in the pool.
'Children may try to grab these from the pool's edge and fall in."
How to stay safe at a waterpark
Ali Beckman, Puddle Ducks Technical Director, said: "Never send a child down the slide on their own, not only are they going to be entering the slide pool area independently, they then have to exit the pool and wait for an adult.
"And wave pools should be avoided until your child is really confident with water going over their faces and you know they are able to regain their feet independently.
'Waterparks are often very busy places and it's easy to lose sight of a child in a split second."
Shoppers have already heaped on the praise for a budget-friendly paddling pool.

Home Bargains shoppers 'running' for £100 item reduced to £25

Parents are racing to Home Bargains stores for a 'great' £100 item that's been reduced to £25 Home Bargains has impressed parents by reducing a popular £99.99 item to just £24.99. The discount retailer has knocked £75 off the Munchkin Spring 2-in-1 Bouncer and Rocker that parents say they "need" for young children. Shoppers will need to be quick to find the "bargain" that's gone viral on social media. Facebook page Baby Deals UK spotted the offer in stores back in April, and the product is currently out of stock on Home Bargains' website until stocks are replenished. However, a shopper recently spotted the deal in her local store, so shoppers could try their luck at their nearest branch. ‌ Sharing the recommendation for parents on TikTok, @emily_campbellx posted a video highlighting the deal earlier this week. She wrote: "Parents run to Home Bargains." Her caption added: "Such a bargain!! If my little one was younger this would've gone straight into my trolley." ‌ The product description for the rocker says: "Keep your little one calm and comfy with the Munchkin Spring 2-in-1 Bouncer & Rocker. Designed to soothe, this versatile bouncer and rocker offers 3 recline positions for ultimate comfort. "With one-step assembly, it's quick and easy to set up. The lightweight design makes it simple to move around, and it even folds flat for easy storage. Plus, the machine washable cover and cooling fabric ensure your baby stays comfortable and clean. Perfect for naptime, playtime, or anytime your little one needs a break!" The 2-in-1 product is clearly popular with shoppers. Replying to @emily_campbellx's video, a shopper revealed there weren't any left in her local store. "I was in today didn't have any," read the message. Emily said: "Ahh there was only one in, I can imagine they'll all sell quite quickly." The Facebook post shared by Baby Deals UK also stirred up lots of interest, with shoppers keen to shop the deal. One response read: "I feel a home bargains trip coming on." Another said: "This is what I want." A third fan replied: "We need to go home bargains." A fourth response said: "Worth looking for your house." Someone else commented: "Had this for both boys and was great." Shoppers can locate their nearest Home Bargains store here. ‌ Elsewhere, Amazon offers the Munchkin 2-in-1 Spring Baby Bouncer for £49.41, down from £99.99. John Lewis also has the Munchkin Spring 2-in-1 Bouncer & Rocker for £100. Alternatively, Argos offer the well-reviewed Ingenuity Bouncity Bounce Vibrating Deluxe Baby Bouncer for £35. The product description says: "The plush, removable headrest helps keep newborns comfortable. As they grow and begin to kick those legs, baby can create their own steady bounce. "The removable toy bar with 2 toys entertains, while the soothing motion of the vibrating seat helps calm. With an easy-to-clean seat pad and modern fabric design, this bouncy seat will fit right into your home and your family's routine."

Peace lilies in particular are said to find this trick 'so tasty', so if you want to ensure repeat blooming, this homemade feed is one you won't want to miss. When it comes to caring for peace lilies, it is important to only feed them once a month during the growing season, which is spring and summer. And now, gardening enthusiasts have shared a super simple homemade fertiliser - and the key ingredient is banana peels. Taking to the Gardening Hints and Tips Facebook page, an anonymous user explained: 'In the summer, I feed my houseplants with a homemade banana soak. 'My peace lily loves it, just thought I'd share it in case anyone is struggling. 'I've always struggled to get my peace lilies looking good, but bananas make them bloom for years.' The gardening guru then added: 'Once I've eaten a banana or given it to my dog, I'll chop the peel and soak it in some warm water. Gardening hacks to grow fruit from your weekly shop 'After a few days, pour sparingly on your plants, so tasty for them.' The social media post attracted numerous comments from other houseplant enthusiasts, who also praised the effective banana peel trick. Look after your lawn Lawn care is hugely important in assuring your garden stays looking beautiful. Make sure to rake away any excess leaves and trim your grass routinely. One user beamed: 'Heard lots about this, so I gave it a go. I only use it now and again and then a proper feed in between, but it's fantastic.' Whilst a second chimed in: 'All houseplants love this, not just peace lilies, but be careful not to over water.' I've always struggled to get my peace lilies looking good, but bananas make them bloom for years Facebook user According to houseplant enthusiasts, soaking banana peels in water releases nutrients such as potassium, phosphorus and magnesium, which are beneficial for many houseplants, but peace lilies in particular. It is crucial to dilute the banana water with water to make it last longer and ensure it doesn't overwhelm the plant. 8 must-have plants to brighten up your garden Nick Hamilton owner of Barnsdale Gardens has shared his favourite plants and flowers you should consider adding to your garden, borders and pots. Tricyrtis A spectacular plant that gives a real exotic feel to any garden with its orchid-like, spotted flowers giving the impression that this plant should be tender but it is 'as tough as old boots!'. Penstemon I love this plants genus of because most will flower all summer and autumn. They'll grow in sun or semi-shade in a well drained soil and produce a non-stop display of tubular flowers in an array of colours and colour combination to suit all tastes. Luzula sylvatica 'Marginata' With the evergreen leaves edged with yellow it's great asset is that it will grow in sun or shade in any type of soil and is great as groundcover in the hardest spot to fill - dry shade. Eryngium x zabelii 'Big Blue' A stunning, nectar-rich plant that will feed the beneficial insects in your garden. Leave the flowerheads once they have turned brown because they look stunning with winter frost and snow, extending the plant's interest period. Sarcococca hookeriana 'Winter Gem' If you need winter scent then look no further than this compact, evergreen shrub. The scent is stunning and the evergreen leaves create an excellent backdrop for the summer flowers. Cornus sanguinea 'Anny's Winter Orange' A dwarf version of 'Midwinter Fire' the very colourful stems create a stunning winter display, particularly on sunny days. Rosa 'Noisette Carnee' A very well-behaved climbing rose that is perfect for training over an arch, pergola or gazebo. The small, 'noisette' flowers are blush-pink and produce the most amazing clove scent constantly from June to November. Sanguisorba hakusanensis 'Lilac Squirrel' I've never seen a squirrel with a drooping, shaggy lilac tail, but this variety will give your garden an unusual and different look throughout summer. It does need a moisture retentive soil but will grow in sun or semi-shade. Not only this, but banana peels can also be used to fertilise outdoor plants, including tomatoes, bell peppers, roses and hydrangeas. If planting a new plant, you should simply scatter some banana peels beneath the compost, or place them around the top of the soil. Not only will this be beneficial to your plants, but it can also help to deter pests such as slugs, who hate rough surfaces.
