Shehryar Afridi denies reports of Sher Afzal Marwat's removal from PTI

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shehryar Afridi has denied reports that PTI founder had decided to remove senior party leader Sher Afzal Marwat. He added, 'He has served the party well, and we will speak to the PTI founder regarding him.'
Speaking to the media outside the Peshawar High Court on Thursday, Afridi said, 'The PTI founder did not discuss removing Sher Afzal Marwat in my presence. He has made significant contributions to the party and has always responded when called upon.'
Referring to the events of November 26, he stated that the entire nation witnessed what transpired and that PTI's leadership has always advocated for the rule of law.
'The supremacy of law ensures the longevity of a nation. We will continue to stand for the Constitution and the law,' he added, criticising stakeholders for abandoning promises made to tribal communities.
Afridi also condemned what he called state oppression against PTI in Punjab, citing the imposition of Section 144 across the province on February 8. Despite restrictions, he claimed, the public voted for PTI and rejected other parties.
He further alleged that PTI leaders and workers were being subjected to unjust imprisonment and violence. 'These actions are weakening Pakistan,' he warned.
The PTI leader also accused the federal government of withholding development funds for Kohat and called for unity in upholding legal supremacy. 'Why is a judicial commission not being formed? What is the obstacle?' he questioned.

Senate, NA adopt resolutions condemning Israel's attack on Iran
The Senate and the National Assembly have adopted resolutions unanimously condemning Israel's 'unjustified and illegitimate aggression against Iran. The resolution, moved by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in Senate, said the House stands resolute with Iranian brethren and supports their right to defend themselves against Israeli aggression. It noted that Israeli attack s a blatant violation of fundamental principles of the United Nations and all international norms, and has put peace and security in the region and beyond in grave danger. The resolution unequivocally condemned Israel's heinous crimes against Muslim Ummah especially against brotherly nations of Palestine and Iran. The resolution mentioned that over the years, Israel has been source of countless deaths of Muslims around the world particularly in occupied Palestine. It said the world and Muslim Ummah are witnessing the slaughter of innocent children and civilians in Gaza for last two years on an unimaginable scale. The resolution expressed concern over the inaction of Muslim world against this genocide, which has now led Israel to attack another sovereign Muslim state Iran. In the National Assembly, the resolution was moved by Syed Naveed Qamar. It noted that Israeli strikes are not only a serious violation of the sovereignty and integrity of a United Nations Member state but it also clearly contravenes the fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter. The House warned that such continued blatant acts of aggression by Israel have brought not only the Middle East but the entire world into serious dangers, the consequence of which shall entirely rest on Israel. It said Iran has a right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. The National Assembly reiterated that Pakistan stands in complete solidarity with the The House called upon the government to immediately call for a meeting of the UN Security Council and the OIC to discuss, condemn and bring an immediate halt to the aggression on Iran. The condemnation comes after Israel said it targeted Iran's nuclear facilities, ballistic missile factories and military commanders on Friday at the start of what it warned would be a prolonged operation to prevent Tehran from building an atomic weapon. Iranian state television reported that Hossein Salami, the chief of the elite Revolutionary Guards corps, had been killed and the unit's headquarters in Tehran had been hit. Several children had been killed in a strike on a residential area in the capital, it said. Iran said it was planning to 'give a harsh response' to the attack, an Iranian security source told Reuters.

Selling pressure at PSX as geopolitical tensions flare after Israeli strike on Iran
Selling pressure was observed at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), with the benchmark KSE-100 Index losing nearly 2,500 points during the opening minutes of trading on Friday, amid an escalating geopolitical situation after Israel conducted a military strike on Iran. At 9:50am, the benchmark index was hovering at 122,533.32 level, amid a decrease of 1,559.80 points or 1.26%. Across-the-board selling pressure was observed in key sectors including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs, power generation and refinery. Index-heavy stocks including OGDC, PPL, PSO, MARI and HUBCO traded in the red. On Thursday, the PSX witnessed a modest correction, easing after a strong rally earlier in the week fueled by investor optimism surrounding the federal budget. The benchmark KSE-100 Index declined by 259.56 points, or 0.21 percent, closing at 124,093.12 points. Globally, stocks dived in early Asian trade on Friday, led by a selloff in US futures, while oil prices jumped after Israel conducted a military strike on Iran, sending investors scurrying to safe havens such as gold and the Swiss franc. The Israeli attack raises the risk of a fresh escalation in tensions in the Middle East, a major oil producing region, and comes at a time of heightened pressure on the global economy and financial markets from US President Donald Trump's shakeup of trade policies. PTI brands planning minister 'Goebbels'
Reacting to the planning minister's statement, a PTI spokesperson accused him of trying to become the 'Goebbels' of what he called a 'mandate theft' government. The spokesperson said the economic destruction under Ahsan Iqbal and his associates was unprecedented, and claimed the public understands the economy better than the ministers of the current government. He stated that for the past three years, the people have suffered due to the incompetence and poor decision-making of those in power. "The public cannot be misled by manipulated statistics, nor can those responsible for the economic collapse escape accountability," he added. The PTI spokesperson said citizens are the direct victims of the government's destructive policies, and have already rejected the current rulers. "Every segment of society sees the recent federal budget as a cruel joke," he asserted. He said that the only viable path forward is to hand over the reins of government and the economy to the true representatives of the people. PTI leaders denied access to Imran PTI leaders were on Thursday denied access to party founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail. Talking to the media outside the prison, Member of National Assembly Nisar Jatt said the administration did not allow PTI leaders to meet Imran Khan, even though they had fulfilled all formalities. He criticized the Punjab government for what he called "destroying farmers, labourers, traders and industrialists". PTI leader Alamgir Khan said the way PTI founder Imran Khan is being treated, Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav was not. "We have no other option but to take recourse to road protests and peaceful resistance," said Alamgir Khan, adding, "We won't refrain from waging a peaceful struggle." He said the PTI leaders were not allowed to meet Imran Khan. It made a new chapter of fascism. It is all happening after the passage of the 26 Amendment. The party leaders, family members and lawyers are being denied access to the imprisoned PTI founder. Later, the PTI leaders returned peacefully from the prison facility.
