Mahomes Family Attacked In NSFW Rant By Baseball 'Boxer'

Yahoo20-04-2025

It was supposed to be a gimmick, a bit, as embarrassing as it would've been for "boxers'' Patrick Mahomes Sr. and John Rocker.
Mahomes is of course the father of the brilliant Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick ... and dad once played Major League Baseball.
So did John Rocker, a controversial figure in his playing days in part because he was accused of a serious of hateful rants against ... well, everybody.
So in New Orleans at the Super Bowl, in conjunction with the Chiefs' 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, there were sideshows.
Taylor Swift was there getting booed because she's Travis Kelce's celebrity girlfriend.
President Donald Trump was there, too.
It was quite a scene.
And to capitalize on it all? A staged street brawl between Mahomes Sr. and Rocker went viral.
And this "beef'' - all orchestrated by Barstool Sports - carried over. ... because Mahomes Sr. and Rocker were going to box on April 18.
It seems Patrick Mahomes and his camp stepped in to put a stop to the foolishness, and now Rocker is speaking out.
Hatefully.
"Today is the day I was supposed to fight Pat Mahomes Sr.," Rocker said. "Instead of fighting today he backed out like a little (expletive) because his son and his loser wife decided it'd be a bad look to the family name for him to get in the ring."
Rocker has been a controversial figure in the baseball world for some time ... though he's been out of the spotlight.
Obviously, he wants back in. ... and he's decided that trashing the Mahomes family - including a female member of that family - is the path.

That's a seedy way to do business, which should surprise no one who is familar with Rocker's world view.

It's Chiefs vs. Bills In Top-Ranked Rivalry Game In 2025

It's Chiefs vs. Bills In Top-Ranked Rivalry Game In 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Kansas City Chiefs have been at the top of the NFL for the past couple of seasons, winning two of the last three Super Bowls and regularly beating some of the best teams in football. Advertisement After their exploits last season, the Chiefs again made it to the Super Bowl for a third consecutive year, and again, they slayed the Buffalo Bills, this time in the AFC Championship game, to get there. The Chiefs/Bills, Patrick Mahomes/Josh Allen rivalry is now perhaps the modern-day Tom Brady/Peyton Manning, with both usually playing each other in the postseason. And in 2025, the Chiefs are again facing off against the Bills - on November 2 at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park - in what Kevin Patra has as his No. 1-ranked game of the year. "Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes make for appointment viewing on their own -- when they are on the same gridiron, it's a must-watch live situation," Patra writes. "Buffalo and Kansas City have faced off nine times since 2020, and while the Bills have won four straight regular-season clashes, they have yet to get over the postseason hump against Mahomes and Co. The influence this matchup tends to have on playoff seeding adds extra importance to the high-powered showdown between two otherworldly quarterbacks." Kansas City Chiefs guard Trey Smith (65) blocks Buffalo Bills defensive end Greg Rousseau (50) in pursuit of quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15). Mark Konezny-Imagn Images In what is a rather odd scenario, the Chiefs have beaten the Bills the last four times in the postseason, but the Bills have beaten the Chiefs in their last four regular-season meetings. Advertisement Odd, indeed. With the Chiefs' shine being taken off after the Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Bills seemingly in perhaps their best position to strike in the AFC, this game could decide the playoff seeding, which, as we know, is of the utmost importance. It will be Mahomes vs. Allen again, with bragging rights on the line. Grab your popcorn, folks. Xavier Worthy remains confident about his speed prowess among the Kansas City Chiefs receiving group, but he is also looking toward the bigger picture of this offense having a collection of speedsters on the outside. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Patrick Mahomes has enjoyed the luxury of throwing to some terrors on the outside through his career. The Kansas City Chiefs may not have a bona fide top 10 pass catcher currently on the roster, but they usually have a collection of speedy receivers. Advertisement Projections for 2025 are a little early to make at this point in the calendar. However, it appears the same will be true once again with a band of pass catchers led by Xavier Worthy. Worthy impressed throughout his rookie season, finishing as the Chiefs' second-leading receiver behind Travis Kelce. Kansas City and their young star will try to mold him into a more complete player in the coming years though there is one thing they hope not to change about his game. Worthy's speed separated him from some of the other rookie playmakers in his class and it had a major impact in the Chiefs' offense. While he has been challenged as the fastest on the team, Worthy also has a focus on what his ability can do for the team. "Tyquan (Thornton) called me out last year, right after the Super Bowl, but I feel like I'm the fastest," he said last week. "Hollywood, Tyquan, we got a lot of guys out there ready to compete and a lot of guys ready to get the ball deep." Advertisement The Chiefs' crop of fast receivers will determine their ability to create more offense down the field. Without a clear-cut No. 1 presence on the roster, that almost becomes a necessity. Worthy sees the bigger picture here, knowing that the combination of all this speed and talent can take this offense to another level, so it does not really matter who wears the crown among the group. However, Worthy will be counted on to shoulder a majority share of the load. Rashee Rice will need some time to get back into football shape after a gruesome leg injury that ended his 2024 campaign. Behind him, it's a collection of veterans and more young guys looking to break through. If Worthy continues to make strides and leads this air attack forward, there's a pathway to real stardom for the Kansas City speedster. Skyy Moore's Kansas City Chiefs Career Could Be Coming to an End

Skyy Moore's Kansas City Chiefs Career Could Be Coming to an End originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Kansas City Chiefs' wide receiver room will have a lot of competition as the team narrows down its 53-man roster. Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown have seemingly locked up the top-three spots. Advertisement Kansas City will likely carry six receivers, leaving just three roster spots to be fought for between Jalen Royals, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Skyy Moore, Nikko Remigio, Tyquan Thornton, and undrafted free agent Elijah Badger. Given Royals' recent draft status as a fourth-round selection, he likely has a bit more job security than the rest of the group, realistically leaving two roster spots for five players. According to Arrowhead Addict's Stacy D. Smith, this situation does not bode well for Moore. What Moore has going for him is experience, aside from Smith-Schuster, Moore is the most experienced receiver on the roster, and has the most familiarity with Andy Reid's offense. "The bad news is that Smith-Schuster is the clear favorite to claim one of the remaining spots, and the final WR6 role will likely go to a player who can contribute on special teams." Smith wrote. "If Smith-Schuster secures his spot, that gives a notable edge to third-year receiver Nikko Remigio." Advertisement Smith does point out that a rookie running back - Brashard Smith - may handle the special teams load, allowing Moore to maintain his roster position. "Fortunately for Moore, his chances could improve with the addition of undrafted running back Brashard Smith, who logged 58 returns during his college career at Miami and SMU." Smith noted. "If Smith secures the return specialist role, it could put Nikko Remigio's roster spot in jeopardy, given he has just two career receptions in the Chiefs' offense." Moore's 2024 season was cut short by a core muscle injury that resulted in him being placed on injured reserve in October. Moore played in just six games with three targets, and no receptions. Even when healthy, Moore hasn't been overly productive as a receiver. In his first two NFL seasons, Moore has tallied 250 and 244 receiving yards, respectively, with only one career touchdown. Moorehad a small stint as a return man during his rookie season, returning 14 punts for 86 yards and three kicks for 50 yards. Advertisement Related: Is Chiefs' AFC West Dominance Set To End In 2025?
