British pair Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski secured their place in the French Open men's doubles semi-finals with a hard-fought victory over Matthew Ebden and John Peers.
The eighth seeds battled back to beat the Australian pair 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 6-4.

It is the first time either Skupski or Salisbury, who paired up at the start of the season, have gone beyond the men's quarter-finals in Paris.
They are bidding for a first Grand Slam title together, having reached finals on the clay in Qatar and Barcelona this year.
Meanwhile, Britain's Henry Patten and Finn Harri Heliovaara missed the opportunity to set up a last-four meeting with Skupski and Salisbury.
Second seeds Patten and Heliovaara, the reigning Wimbledon and Australian Open champions, lost 6-3 6-4 to American ninth seeds Christian Harrison and Evan King.
Skupski will feature in the mixed doubles quarter-finals later on Tuesday, when he and American partner Desirae Krawczyk face top seeds Ukraine's Lyudmyla Kichenok and Croatia's Mate Pavic.

Jane Birkin's original Hermès bag goes on sale
The original Hermès Birkin bag, which acted as the blueprint for what would become one of the most desirable celebrity status symbols in the world, will go under the hammer in Paris next month. The capacious saddle-stitched handbag, inspired by actor and singer Jane Birkin who died in 2023, will lead the 'Fashion Icons' sale at Sotheby's on July 10, the auction house said in a statement Thursday. Known as 'The Original Birkin,' the all-black, leather handbag is the first version of the timeless luxury staple, which was envisaged about 40 years ago after a chance encounter on a plane between Birkin and then-Hermès CEO Jean-Louis Dumas, Sotheby's said. 'There are rare moments in the world of fashion when an object transcends trends and becomes a legend. Jane Birkin's Original Birkin bag is such a moment,' said Morgane Halimi, Sotheby's global head of handbags and fashion, in the statement. Halimi said the bag 'stands shoulder to shoulder with other exceptional items with similarly dazzling provenance,' such as Princess Diana's 'black sheep' sweater and British rock star Freddie Mercury's crown and cloak. 'Like them, the Original Birkin holds the potential to redefine records,' Halimi added. CNN asked Sotheby's how much they expect the handbag to sell for, but the auction house would not provide an estimate. Birkin herself acknowledged the bag's legacy as a pop cultural phenomenon. She told CNN's Christiane Amanpour in 2020 that, after the bag's fame skyrocketed, she wondered whether it might – rather than her movies or hit song 'Je T'aime… Moi Non Plus' – become what she was best remembered for. 'Bless me, when I'm dead… (people) will possibly only talk about the bag,' she joked. The origin story of the bag started with an unexpected encounter. On a flight in 1984, Birkin found herself seated next to Dumas. They struck up a conversation in which she said she wanted a bag 'half the size of my suitcase,' Birkin told Amanpour. 'He said, 'Well, draw it for me,' and so I drew it on one of those sick bags – the vomit bags – in the airplane,' Birkin said. The original Birkin differs from subsequent versions in seven ways, Sotheby's said, with its size, metal rings, brass hardware, shoulder strap, zip and bottom studs setting the prototype apart from future bags. The bag, which is branded with Birkin's initials – 'J.B' – on the front flap, also has a pair of nail clippers hanging from the shoulder strap, the auction house said. It will go on public display at Sotheby's New York galleries from June 6 to 12. Thousands flocked to see the bag when it was exhibited publicly at Sotheby's Paris Galleries last autumn, and then at Sotheby's Maison in Hong Kong earlier this year, the auction house added.

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have become co-owners of the Australia SailGP team. A news release on Thursday confirmed the co-stars of the 2024 movie Deadpool & Wolverine have joined the team as it has been rebranded to the BONDS Flying Roos. BONDS is an Australian underwear company. Australia has established itself as a leading force in the 12-team SailGP, winning the championship title in each of the first three seasons. Advertisement 'Hugh brings a deep love for and pride in his home country as well as being an avid fan of sailing,' Jackman and Reynolds said in a joint statement. 'He will also be bringing his overly clingy emotional support human along for the ride.' Their fellow co-owner Tom Slingsby, an Olympic gold medalist who is also team CEO, described the move as a 'milestone' moment for the Australia team and SailGP as a sport. 'We're building something distinctly Australian; a team driven by spirit, resilience, and national pride,' Slingsby, 40, said. Launched in 2019 by five-time America's Cup winner Sir Russell Coutts from New Zealand and American tech billionaire Larry Ellison, SailGP is an annual championship between teams racing in identical 50-foot catamarans that have wing-like foils mounted either side of their hulls. French soccer star Kylian Mbappe bought a stake in France's SailGP team in March and is one of many global stars associating themselves with a championship now in its fifth season. Emirates GBR, the British team, was the first to be sold to external investors in 2022, when Sir Ben Ainslie, the most successful sailor in Olympic history, joined up with commodities trader Chris Blake and property developer Peter Green to take full control in a deal valued at $40 million. Other teams have subsequently had notable names investing; the German team had four-time Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel as a founding investor, while last month, actor Anne Hathaway was named among the female-led ownership group of the Italian team. In 2024, former Milwaukee Bucks owner Marc Lasry was among a group of investors, including heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder, ex-USMNT striker Jozy Altidore and several NFL stars, who acquired the U.S. team for $35 million. French Open: Italians Errani and Vavassori win mixed doubles against Americans Townsend and King
PARIS (AP) — Third-seeded Italian pair Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori beat fourth-seeded Americans Taylor Townsend and Evan King 6-4, 6-2 to win the mixed doubles title at the French Open on Thursday. It was their second major title together after winning last year's U.S. Open. For Errani, it was another trophy won at Roland-Garros, after winning Olympic gold in women's doubles with compatriot Jasmine Paolini last year. 'Let's see if I will see you next year, let's hope,' the 38-year-old Errani, who was a 2012 French Open singles runner-up, told the crowd on Court Philippe-Chatrier. She thanked King for playing with her. 'We're running it back at Wimbledon so we're going to try it again,' she said. ___
