A MAN has died after getting into trouble while wild swimming on the Isle of Bute.
Mercy crews were called to the 68-year-old's aid while he was in the water near the village of Kilchattan Bay last night.

He was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he tragically died.
His death is currently being treated as unexplained by cops.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 8.10pm on Thursday 19th June 2025, we were called to a report of concern for a man who had been wild swimming at Kilchattan Bay on the Isle of Bute.
'Emergency services attended and the 68-year-old was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
'The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.'

Man in his 40s shot dead outside Costco in Croydon
A man in his 40s has died after being shot outside Costco in Croydon, south London. Emergency services called to reports of a shooting in Imperial Way at 5.04pm yesterday. The Met Police said the man was found with gunshot wounds and was treated by paramedics but died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Detectives from the Met's Major Incident team are leading the investigation and enquiries are ongoing. Detective Chief Inspector Dan Whitten, leading the investigation from the Met's Specialist Crime Command, said: 'This was a tragic incident and my thoughts are with the man's family at this difficult time. Our team of specially trained officers are supporting them as are our investigation progresses.
