‘Focus On Finishing Fights!'
Jack Della Maddalena is a man of few words, but his coaches have no problem firing back at some of the many welterweight contenders looking to goad him into a fight.
Della Maddalena spent UFC 315 fight week avoiding strategically placed bags of M&Ms placed by backup fighter Ian Machado Garry in a playful attempt to derail his Belal Muhammad fight weigh-in. That was all in good fun, but his coach Ben Vickers did respond to comments from 'The Future' declaring he'd 'box the ears' off the new Australian champ.

'We're not in this business to be celebrities,' Vickers told Submission Radio. 'And as Jack said in his post-fight speech, we just want to win fights and be the best. Jack loves scrapping, Jack loves training. We all love the sport and the process. [Garry] can carry on doing his thing.'
'He should concentrate more on finishing fights, especially fights that he's dominating. He needs to stop flying around the world trying to be a celebrity, and get in the gym and get some power and figure out how to finish fights.'
'His time would be better spent doing that than trying to wind Jack up,' Vickers concluded. 'You think Jack's going to bite on any of that stuff? He doesn't care, man. He's the most chilled-out dude in the world. So yeah, it's all just a bit silly, really.'

There's plenty of time for more pressure to build on a potential Della Maddalena vs. Machado Garry fight. Jack is set to fight former lightweight champion Islam Makhachev sometime later this year, and then Garry will have to fend off the title aspirations of other contenders like Sean Brady and Shavkat Rakhmonov.
Ian Machado Garry does put his money where his mouth is, though, when it comes to fighting. If he has the opportunity to take more fights to lock in the position of No. 1 contender, he'll take it. That's more than we can say for a lot of other welterweights.

The Survivors' Season 1 Cast and Characters
Love mysteries and Australian accents? Netflix has a new show for you. The Survivors—based on the book of the same name by Jane Harper—premieres on June 6. The six-episode limited series follows Kieran Elliott, a man who returns to his hometown of Evelyn Bay 15 years after his community experienced a tragedy. During a storm, two people who were close to Kieran died, while a third, a young girl, went missing. When Kieran and his wife, Mia, come back home to be with Kieran's parents—now as parents themselves—the tragedy resurfaces, an investigation into what really happened begins, and everything the people of Evelyn Bay thought they knew about the situation is brought into question. Gambling content 21+. The New York Post may receive an affiliate commission if you sign up through our links. Read our editorial standards for more information. The torch has been passed in tennis, but Novak Djokovic is still doing a fine job of representing the previous generation. Djokovic is playing less these days, but he's still getting up for the big tournaments. Djokovic made it to the semifinals at the Australian Open and is now into the final four at Roland Garros, where he'll meet Jannik Sinner. Sinner is a -480 favorite over Djokovic in Friday afternoon's semifinal. French Open semifinal: Sinner vs. Djokovic betting preview All concerns about Djokovic's form and fitness were put to bed pretty quickly at Roland Garros. The 24-time grand slam champion didn't drop a set until his quarterfinal victory over No. 3 Alexander Zverev, and he's barely had to break a sweat to this point. Getting to the semifinals is one thing, but the fact that Djokovic, 38, was able to get to this part of the tournament without putting too many miles on his legs is a massive boost to his chances. The problem is that Sinner will be even fresher. Jannik Sinner celebrating at Roland Garros. AFP via Getty Images The Italian was handed a three-month ban due to testing positive for a banned substance between February and May, meaning he essentially had an offseason between the Australian and French Opens. Sinner hasn't been impacted by the rust, as he made it to the finals of the Rome Masters in his return to action. He has yet to drop a set at Roland Garros. Get the lowdown on the Best USA Sports Betting Sites and Apps French Open semifinal: Sinner vs. Djokovic pick Sinner, who is 17-1 in 2025, is the overwhelming favorite, but don't write off Djokovic in this battle. Not only is Djokovic in terrific form at the moment, but he will have his legs with him on Friday. Had the Serb had to dig deep to get to this point, I'd be weary of his chances, but he'll be as fresh as he could have hoped, considering where we're at in this tournament. This could be a classic, and Djokovic winning in five sets feels like a real possibility.
