Sophie Habboo is set to join her husband Jamie Laing on BBC Radio 1's Going Home show (Monday – Thursday, 3.30pm – 6pm) co-presenting from Monday to Wednesday each week from 2 June until 18 June, while Vick Hope is on maternity leave.
Jamie Laing, who usually co-hosts the show with Vick Hope and Katie Thistleton (also on maternity leave), will be joined by Sophie for this special run of shows, making them the first-ever married couple to present a show together on Radio 1.
Sophie, known for her quick wit and vibrant personality, co-hosts the hugely popular 'NewlyWeds' podcast alongside Jamie. The duo have also fronted major red carpet events, including The BRIT Awards 2025, where they interviewed stars such as Jared Leto and Myles Smith.
Sophie Habboo says: 'I'm thrilled to finally announce that I'll be joining the Radio 1 family for the next few weeks! I've always loved how radio connects people across the nation in real time, and I'm honoured to be stepping in for Vick while she starts her exciting new chapter of life.

I'll also be making a bit of Radio 1 history presenting alongside my husband Jamie Laing, which feels really special (and probably a bit chaotic in the best way). Catch you on-air!'
In other exciting news, social media star and podcaster GK Barry will take over Radio 1's weekend afternoon show (Friday – Sunday, 1pm - 4pm) throughout July, beginning Friday 4 July. She'll be joined by a host of special guests who will co-host alongside her. Known for her unfiltered humour and relatable storytelling, Grace has built a loyal fanbase through her hugely successful social media presence, chart-topping podcast 'Saving Grace', and standout appearance on the most recent series of ITV's I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Listeners can expect her trademark honesty, energy and lots of surprises.
GK Barry says: 'I am so excited to be presenting my own show with BBC Radio 1 across July, I thank the whole team for trusting me with such an incredible audience and I'm ready to bring you all into my world and music a few hours a week.'
Following Sophie's run, from Monday 23 June, Sam and Danni will join Jamie on Going Home. The trio, already firm favourites with Radio 1 listeners, will keep the nation entertained with a mix of the best in music, guests and plenty of chaos.
Sam and Danni say: 'Well...you know we love a challenge! We're so excited to be joining Jamie for some laughs and chaos this summer. We'll be keeping you company and soundtracking whatever you're up to across the holidays. It's a dream come true to be looking after one of the best radio shows across the UK, let's get you home!'
Aled Haydn Jones, Head of Radio 1, says: 'I'm delighted to welcome Sophie to Radio 1, having her join Jamie on Going Home will bring an exciting dynamic to the show and marks a first for the station, as our first-ever married couple to co-host together. I'm also looking forward to Sam and Danni teaming up with Jamie, and can't wait to see what GK Barry and friends bring to weekends. It's shaping up to be a brilliant summer on Radio 1.'

Chelsea in shock transfer talks with AC Milan keeper Mike Maignan whose stats shows up Robert Sanchez

CHELSEA are in talks with AC Milan to sign goalkeeper Mike Maignan. The France star, 29, has only a year left on his contract in Italy, with both parties yet to agree on fresh terms. 1 And the Blues have been alerted by Maignan's failure to pen an extension at the San Siro, where AC Milan failed to qualify for Europe. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca believes the £34million-rated stopper is an ideal option for his possession-based attack. The Stamford Bridge outfit already have five keepers on their books — Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic, Mike Penders and Kepa Arrizabalaga. But Maignan's potential arrival would see him challenge for the No 1 jersey in another shake-up to the goalkeeping department. Chelsea fans have been calling for a new No 1, with both Sanchez and Jorgensen failing to prove they should be the main man between the sticks. French Guiana-born Maignan helped Lille to the French title in 2021. He won Serie A with Milan a year later. Maignan has amassed a total of 163 appearances for the Italian club and made four errors leading to goals last season, comparing to Sanchez's five. But AC Milan could cash in now amid fears he could leave the club on a free transfer in 2026. Maignan has played 30 times for France and was named in the Euro 2024 team of the tournament. Jadon Sancho shares his Chelsea highlights reel as he says goodbye to fans ahead of Man Utd return Maresca's Chelsea are set to make Liam Delap their first summer signing. The Blues will pay his £30million release clause at relegated Ipswich, who he joined last summer from Manchester City. Chelsea will also welcome youngsters Estevao Willian, Kendry Paez and Dario Essugo to the club. One player leaving the club is Jadon Sancho. Chelsea paid Manchester United £5m NOT to sign him on a permanent basis. And the winger, 25, posted on Instagram: 'Grateful for the experience. Big love to everyone at Chelsea who made me feel at home — teammates, staff and the fans. 'Wishing the club all the best moving forward. Truly grateful. Thank you Blues.'

Shoppers gobsmacked after bizarre Land Rover smash leaves one motor mounted on top of another

YOU can't park there madam! Supermarket shoppers are gobsmacked after a car park prang left one motor mounted on top of another. The smash is said to have happened when a woman in a Land Rover reversed into another car, flipping it over and hitting a silver VW Beetle. 4 4 Others pointed out it looked like a modern sculpture. Former Army aircraft technician David Bowden posted pictures on social media, adding: 'It's all happening in Falmouth Sainsbury's. 'It is amazing, like a bit of modern art, or a collapsed game of Jenga.' Mark Carveth joked: 'The winner of the 2025 Turner prize is a sculpture from Falmouth.' Dawn Chittock said: 'Would make a great Specsavers advert.' The incident happened at a Sainsbury's supermarket in Falmouth, Cornwall, on Saturday. A tannoy went out in the store asking for the driver of the blue car to attend the car park - where they were in for a shock. The vehicles were all recovered and no one was hurt. Two people were in one of the vehicles at the time of the crash, but both got out of the vehicle uninjured. Cops said the drivers swapped insurance details at the scene. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We were called to Sainsbury's, Falmouth, car park at around 1.30pm on Saturday 31 May following a report of a three vehicle collision. "Only one vehicle had occupants but both got out of the car uninjured. All vehicles were recovered and insurance details swapped." A Sainsbury's spokesperson said: "Emergency services attended an incident in the car park of our Falmouth store on Saturday afternoon. A small section of the car park was closed for a couple of hours and we're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused." 4 4
