Lebanese Health Minister to Al-Manar Website: Israeli Violations Can No Longer Be Tolerated

Al Manar08-05-2025

Lebanese Public Health Minister Dr. Rakan Nasereddine condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks and violations of Lebanese sovereignty, considering that the repeated attacks targeting Lebanese territory, infrastructure, and residential areas constitute a flagrant violation of all international conventions and a direct threat to the security of citizens.
In an interview with Al-Manar Website, Nasereddine called on the parties sponsoring the ceasefire agreement to assume their responsibilities and play their role in curbing the Israeli aggression, stressing that the situation can no longer accept further international disregard or silence, especially in light of the escalating pace of attacks.
The Health Minister called on the international community to take urgent and effective action to halt the policy of aggression and systematic violations practiced by 'Israel' against Lebanon,' demanding that 'the occupation cease its grip on Lebanese territory and halt the series of deliberate provocations that threaten regional stability.'
Israeli warplanes launched a series of intense airstrikes targeting forested hills and elevated areas in Kfar Tibnit and Nabatieh Al-Fawka in southern Lebanon, according to local media reports. The strikes extended to several villages across the Nabatieh district.

599 Days of Devastation: Israeli Airstrikes Intensify in Gaza

As the Israeli war on Gaza enters its 599th day, Israeli occupation forces have ramped up their military campaign, launching dozens of airstrikes across the densely populated enclave. The resurgence of hostilities—71 days after a broken ceasefire—has drawn condemnation from rights groups, while the international community remains largely paralyzed in its response. Multiple strikes were reported throughout the Gaza Strip, with significant casualties in Jabalia, Beit Lahia, and Khan Yunis. Among the dead were children Mustafa Wael Ali and Olina Nizar Bakroun, and physician Ihab Naim Dhamida, all victims of aerial bombardments in residential neighborhoods. With Israel's blockade restricting food aid since early March, humanitarian agencies warn that famine is tightening its grip on the region's 2.3 million residents. Israeli artillery also shelled eastern Gaza City and the town of Al-Qarara, compounding fears among civilians who say nowhere feels safe. Residents continue to suffer without basic necessities, while hospitals struggle under the weight of mounting injuries and shortages of medicine. 'Israel' resumed its aggression on Gaza on March 18, after violating the ceasefire agreement. Its airstrikes since then have killed more than 3,800 people and injured nearly 11,000, according to the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.

Three Israeli airstrikes target outskirts of Brital

by Naharnet Newsdesk 7 hours Israeli warplanes on Monday carried out three airstrikes on the Sraj area in the outskirts of the Baalbek district town of Brital, the state-run National News Agency said. Two people were injured in overnight strikes on the southern towns of Beit Leef and Majdal Zoun, the Health Ministry said Monday. Israel has continued to launch near-daily airstrikes in southern and eastern Lebanon and sometimes in Beirut's suburbs despite a November 27 truce that sought to halt more than a year of hostilities with Hezbollah including two months of full-blown war. Under the terms of the ceasefire deal, the only armed bodies in southern Lebanon are meant to be U.N. peacekeepers and Lebanon's army, though Israel has retained its forces in five areas it has declared strategic. Speaking Sunday on the anniversary of Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000, Hezbollah leader Sheikh Naim Qassem reiterated the Lebanese group's stance that it will not discuss giving up its remaining weapons until Israel withdraws from the five border points it occupies in southern Lebanon and stops its airstrikes. "We adhered completely" to the agreement, Qassem said, adding: "Don't ask us for anything else from now on. Let Israel withdraw, stop its aggression, release the prisoners and fulfill all obligations under the agreement. After that, we will discuss each new development."

Israeli Offensive in Gaza Hits 69 Days: Death Toll Surpasses 53,000 Amid Growing Famine Crisis

The Israeli occupation's offensive in Gaza entered its 69th consecutive day on Sunday, with the Palestinian death toll rising to 53,901 and the number of wounded reaching 122,593 since the offensive began on October 7, 2023. As the humanitarian crisis deepens, the threat of famine continues to grow in the besieged enclave. On Saturday, Gaza's Health Ministry reported the death of a child due to starvation, a grim sign of the siege's devastating consequences. The World Food Programme (WFP) warned that tens of thousands of children are suffering from severe malnutrition. Families in #Gaza remain on the brink of starvation. Letting aid in is the first step — we need a sustained, daily flow of trucks. We also need the ability to move and distribute aid inside Gaza safely & without delay. — World Food Programme (@WFP) May 25, 2025 Additionally, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stressed that a continuous and substantial flow of aid is the only way to prevent further catastrophe in Gaza. 'At a minimum, Gaza needs 500 to 600 UN-managed trucks entering daily,' the agency said, adding that Palestinians in the strip 'cannot wait any longer' for life-saving aid. Gaza's Health Ministry confirmed that 14 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes on multiple areas across the strip early Sunday. In Jabalia's Al-Faluja neighborhood, one person was martyred and others injured following an Israeli bombardment. Three more bodies were recovered after airstrikes on Al-Fukhari and Al-Zannah, east of Khan Younis. Israeli tanks trap displaced families in Khanyounis under heavy gunfire. Gaza. — TIMES OF GAZA (@Timesofgaza) May 24, 2025 Another civilian was killed in a strike on Abasan Al-Kabira, also near Khan Younis, as local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces demolished buildings in Al-Qarara, northeast of the city. At least one Palestinian was martyred and several others wounded in an Israeli attack targeting civilians in Al-Faluja. Meanwhile, Israeli tanks opened fire heavily in the northern and western outskirts of Rafah. In central Gaza, a drone strike hit a tent sheltering displaced families west of the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing one and injuring several. Seven people were also martyred in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Jabalia Al-Nazla, in northern Gaza. Simultaneously, Israeli artillery and tanks shelled Salah Al-Din Street in Al-Qarara, escalating the destruction in the area. Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan on Sunday strongly condemned what he described as 'atrocities' against civilians in Gaza, calling them evidence of the international community's 'apathy and double standards' toward Palestinian suffering amid a breakdown in respect for international law. Speaking at a meeting of Southeast Asian foreign ministers in Kuala Lumpur ahead of the regional ASEAN summit, Hasan said the bloc 'can no longer remain silent' in the face of Israel's relentless assault, urging a united stance and stronger action to address the escalating crisis. ASEAN foreign ministers had previously expressed their firm support for Palestinian rights during a joint statement in February. Malaysia, which currently holds the rotating ASEAN chair, has provided over $10 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza since the beginning of Israel's war on the enclave in October 2023.
